The Lipstick League Question of the Week
What is your go-to shade of nail polish? Do you have a different go-to shade for your toes?
G's answer: for the past year or so, my go-to polish for my fingernails has been a dusty purple creme with taupe undertones (think Wet n Wild Bite the Bullet). I feel like it's more interesting than a regular taupe/greige because of the purple, but it's also still neutral enough to wear with just about anything. As for toes, my go-to forever and ever has always been a good ol' blood red creme (think Zoya Rekha).

Blushing Noir is Currently Craving: I need more beauty bags like a hole in the head but the SEPHORA COLLECTION Frosted Light Line got me like…. WHOA.
I used to always wear OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy on my fingers, but now I try other colors. I'm embarrased to say, but we probably have over 200 bottles of nail polish. I know I have about 65 bottles of Zoya alone. I just added those 4 new bottles from the free sale( just pay shipping). Btw, they shipped them first class which was no where near 15.00. I was always under the impression that they had to be sent ground because they were hazardous.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite color for fingers is blue!!! (Duh!) Especially very pale blues like Zoya Blu. But I am equal opportunity blue! I do try to keep a wide variety of color. I do my nails 3 times a week because for me it is soothing. For toes anything goes!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that color too.
DeleteSally Hansen Pink Boa, which is now discontinued so I get bottles off Ebay now. It's a hot pink with shimmer and it's just perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteAny kind of hot pink that's similar to Pink Boa catches my eye, so I have about 5 different brands of hot pink/fuschia/magenta types of polish.
I have plenty other colors, but I always go back to hot pink.
Toes are always bright colors.
G you should try the Wet n Wild 1 step wonder gel polish in Stay Classy! I love it! Great formula and the color is kinda like the one you described! Not to mention that it's called "Stay Classy" :)
ReplyDeleteWhy is Bite the Bullet not in my life? I love those kinds of colors. I have been going through my massive nail polish stash, and I notice the colors I wear (and purchase) the most tend to be either taupes, grays, muted purples (think Sinful Colors' Winterberry and countless paler and darker variations), and lots of greens, especially if they have a hint of gray to them so they're kind of sage- or jade-like.
ReplyDeleteWith toes I'm lazy. I'll do something bright for summer, but in the winter I either won't paint them or I'll just go for some long-lasting neutral or nude pink, since I won't be wearing any kind of sandal from probably mid-October through mid-April, at least.
As a nail polish addict, I definitely don't have a single answer for this question. I like bright colors on my toes and vary my fingernail color depending on the season. This winter, I've been gravitating to metallics like Orly Rage, SH Gilty Pleasures and OPI Haven't the Foggiest.
ReplyDeleteI am a nail polish addict! For my fingers & toes I am constantly reaching for Avon's Orchid Splash, which came out with the Pantone color of the year Radiant Orchid. It's perfect anytime of year and suits a lot of skin tones!!
