I found some new CG items on the Drugstore.com site today, so I wanted to be sure you knew about them! First up, we have the new CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream ($8.99 at Drugstore.com, 1.0 oz.; pictured above). This new matte BB cream comes in five shades:
- Fair
- Light
- Light/Medium
- Medium
- Medium/Deep
From the Drugstore.com website:

As many of you know, my holy grail foundation is CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, which is also matte. So I'm super curious about this new BB cream for days when I want a lighter look (the Outlast foundation is full coverage). Oh! Also, when I googled the name of this product, I discovered that Jen of The Budget Beauty Blog posted pics of the in-store display a couple of weeks ago (you can check that out here). So if you have already found and purchased this product, I would LOVE to hear what you think of it! I'm impressed that CG gave us 5 shades in this range, since most drugstore BB creams usually come in two or three shade options, tops.
I also spotted two new shades in the Perfect Point Plus Eye Pencil range:
These shades, Hunter Green and Deep Burgundy (retail: $6.79 at Drugstore.com), are new additions to the line (existing shades are Espresso, Charcoal, Midnight Blue, Grey Khaki, and Black Onyx).

Thanks G! :) I'm still testing this BB Cream for a review at some point but I can say that it definitely dries down matte on me and doesn't feel super emollient like most BB Creams do. I'm probably not the best person to be testing it with my Sahara desert-like skin but oh well, haha! I didn't know about the new eyeliners...I like the looks of the burgundy one!
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome! Well you know that since I'm basically an oil slick, I'm loving that you said it's not as emollient as some other BBs. Some formulas disappear on me in like an hour, so I'm hopeful now! Still can't wait for your review, even though your skin is opposite from mine. :)
DeleteWas so fired up for this until I saw the shades :sighs:
ReplyDeleteMay I ask why? Like I mentioned in my post, most drugstore BB creams only come in 2 shades (3 if we're lucky!) so I think 5 is pretty impressive. :)
DeleteIf you have a deeper skintone and you're concerned that the deep shade might be too light, I'm guessing that CG might roll out a Queen collection range for this product...that's usually something they seem to do these days. :)
They still think that one dark shade fits all. Ugh.
DeleteI really hope the fair is Actually Fair and not a medium-light. The Stay Gorgeous foundation doesn't come pale enough for me so CG is not my friend haha.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you!!
DeleteMy problem, too. I just saw this in Walgreens and am sooooo tempted; most BB creams make me so oily. I am hopeful.
DeleteI really love this blog! Thank G
ReplyDeleteOMG thank you so much for that, Candie! You made my day. xoxo
DeleteI love that I can see the newest products before I go to the store that way I have my eyes wide open for them! Thanks girl!
ReplyDeleteI want to try the BB cream but I have to admit that I'm disappointed that it does not have sunscreen.
ReplyDeleteI would bet that in order to get a true matte effect at a drugstore price, they had to sacrifice sunscreen ingredients. I am a sunscreen hoarder, LOL, and the only products that are truly matte on me have a really high price point.
DeleteYou can look on the bright side maybe, you can customize your sunscreen level with your fave product? :)
I just bought the BB Cream last week and meant to tag you, lol. I haven't tried it yet but I will be soon!
ReplyDeleteThere is also a deep shade in this. I'm really hoping to find it in stores sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteTheir 'Deep' is ok .... equivalent to NC48-NC50 or NW43-NW45 (though i've seen lighter like almost NC45-ish women wearing this).
ReplyDeleteThey could use one or 2 darker shades for much deeper complected women of color.
