Thanks so much to reader @beautybeyondglamour on Instagram for this tip!
Right now on the Ipsy site HERE, you can snag six City Color Galaxy Metallic Cream Shadow Pots for $10 + free shipping. These cream shadows regularly retail for $4.99 each on the City Color site, so that would be $29.94 for six if purchased separately.
You can see a photo of these with swatches on the City Color Instagram page HERE. I have not personally tried these before but looking at the comments on that page, I'm seeing some feedback that these are a bit difficult to blend. So they may work better as a base for powder shadows (to change/intensify color) or as liners. If you own any of these, I would absolutely love to hear from you!
Thanks again, @beautybeyondglamour, for the hot tip!
Wow, just bought it, didn't even stop to think, just clicked
ReplyDeleteLol! I'd absolutely love to know what you think when you get them! :)
DeleteSame! Lol.
Deletethey don't allow paypal :-(
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry!
DeleteYou have to be an ipsy subscriber to get this deal don't you?
ReplyDeleteNope, the Ispsy Offers are for everyone. :)
DeleteThank you G! Thats awesome i had no clue they let anybody in on their deals. I had typed put like a paragraph asking you about ypur thoughts on ipsy and if it was worth it even thpugh its ten bucks but when i tried to post it it just vanished lol. So jist of what i wanted to know was your opinion about their sub bc ive been contemplating subbing FOREVER. Dk why i haven't done it yet but have heard alot more not so great things about the bags being in a decline nowadays than i have super positive things. I've never signed up gor a sub box bit really want to but theres sooooo many now to choose from. Im not a newbie to mu but def not even close to pro status. Im wanting to expand my horizons so to speak and get out of my little rut. Figured that would probably be an ok way to do so since its just $10. But still $10 is $10 and every penny counts so if it has been totally sucking lately then i won't even bother with it. Just wondering your opinion on their bags. Thanks in advance!:)
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I am currently subscribing to Ipsy after switching from Boxycharm. April is my 3rd month with Ipsy and its the first month that had any disappointing products (I don't ask for hair product but received some anyway). I still think it was worth the $10 and was so happy with my last 2 months. Boxycharm at $21 a month was great the first month I had it (oct 2015) and, in my opinion, went down hill from there so I canceled after December. There are so very many subscriptions out there and while I want to try others, I'm sticking with Ipsy as the price point and the preference quiz have been overall working for me. I hope that helps!
DeleteI had Ipsy for two years and it was fine. The thrill did fade with time, and I eventually stopped subscribing after accumulating so much stuff and bags (and I found I wasn't even taking the stuff out of the bags).
DeleteThere are other options like Birchbox which I am personally not familiar with, and Sephora Play, which is still limited right now (which I get now as my only subscription). Also I guess Macy's has a sub? And then there are the Target monthly boxes (no sub) and Walmart quarterly boxes...I've gotten both of those and they are nice for the cheap price.
I don't think Ipsy is a bad place to start if you've never had a sub before. I did use some of the stuff, especially in the beginning. My fave part was the bags. You can check out mysubscriptionaddiction site and see the comments ppl make about Ipsy and Birchbox etc...that is always so interesting. Always some happy and some not. :)
I know you didn't ask me, but I've had Ipsy for 3 years and still love it. I think there are a few misconceptions about ipsy. People think that they will only get makeup. They send a mix of makeup, haircare, and skin care. I'm personally not a huge fan of hair care products but have received a lot of nice ones. I just save them up and throw in as extras in gift baskets or stockings. I think that people also think if they don't put that they like on their survey they won't receive an item like it in their bag. Well they might. Their survey doesn't exclude anything nor does their first questionairre. I think they use those to group people with similar tastes and then send the best selection they have for that. I think a lot of people only expect to receive high end products. They send a total mix. I've received high end, indie, drugstore brands, and tons of brands I've never heard of but have gotten tons of great products I would have never known about! I think if you are someone that is open to try new brands, a good mix of products, and receive full size and deluxe sample size items then you should totally give it a shot! Mine has gotten better over time! You can also watch unbaggings on YouTube so you can see if it has items you might like.
DeleteI subscribed to Ipsy for a few years, I cancelled and went with Birchbox which I'm loving now. I found that Ipsy repeated a lot of the items over and over. A lot of the items I got with Ipsy, I did not love. I collected so many bags, but was also able to give those away with a lot of the items I never used.
DeleteThank you all so much ladies! That was all very helpful. I think im going to give ipsy a try bc hey i can always cancel if i don't want it anymore lol. Thanks to everyone again for your help. Happy Hump day!:D
ReplyDeleteSo far Ipsy is waaay better than birchbox in my opinion
