The Lipstick League - Week of 2.1.16

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

Quick! Name the last palette you purchased. (Also: how’s it working for you?)

G's answer: the last palette I purchased was the CoverGirl TruNaked Nudes Palette. I don't want to comment on how it's working for me just yet because I'm still in my testing period (review coming soon)!

The Lipstick League Links of the Week

My Newest Addiction - Laura has been attempting to master correcting and concealing with Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer.

Nouveau Cheap - I have oily skin, but that doesn’t mean I shy away from cream blushes. Here are my top five drugstore cream blushes of all time (that all work beautifully on oily skin).

Olive & Ivy - How adorable is this soon-to-be-released Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly palette? LOVE!

Phyrra - shares the Cruelty Free Beauty Brands at Sephora! No more guessing!

Prime Beauty - discovered a darling new vintage style bath and body line at Anthropolgie called Mission Grove. Make sure to check it out!

we heart this - Pink, Red and Orange; all an option for Valentine's Day! Our model is wearing Kat Von D Studded Lipstick and Everlasting Liquid Lipstick to prove it.

Beautygeeks - gets the scoop from Gisele’s hair go-to pro Harry Josh on how to fight frizz once and for always.

Beauty Junkies Unite - Fall in love with the Hello Kitty by OPI nail collection, just as Amber did! See the full review and swatches.

Blushing Noir - Why splurge when you can save? Check out these items from BH Cosmetics & L’OREAL that can easily sub in for high end products!

Clumps of Mascara - is helping host a fabulous giveaway that gives you the chance to score a $400 gift card to Sephora. You HAVE to enter this.

EauMG - tries to tackle her sample hoarding problem as you can see with all of her January Empties!

Gouldylox - The Urban Decay Urban Spectrum Palette is finally at Sephora...but does the new packaging make it a deal breaker? What would you do?

(Wondering what the Lipstick League is? Find out here.)

My Newest Addiction is Currently Craving: Natasha Denona! I have been hearing a buzz around the online makeup community about the brand new Natasha Denona line and my curiosity has gotten the best of me!

  3. I bought Nudes and Goldens and I don't love them. I find them very chalky and powdery.

  5. I want to try those new CG palettes. I like their shadows normally, but wish they were a touch more buttery or something, so I'm curious about your review.
I haven't bought any palettes in a while, aside from a Profusion one last fall, which is OK, but I haven't gotten into it much really. I liked the colors, but it's meh for me.
But I had an Etsy gift card and started ordering samples of shadows from My Beauty Addiction, and found I really love how vibrant they are especially applied with a wet brush as liner, so I've just been using a lot of mineral shadows from them lately.

  6. The last palette I got was Too Faced's newest Chocolate Bon Bons eye shadow palette. Pricy, but I had a gift card from Christmas. I LOVE it. The pinks and browns are perfect for my brown eyes and cool/pink skin tone.
