The Lipstick League - week of 3.23.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

What product do you find you are always recommending to people in real life (in addition to in the online beauty community, on your blog, etc.)?

G's answer: In my real life, I always seem to get asked for recs for a good, inexpensive top-coat. And you know I always recommend this one!

  1. This is an easy one: the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips. I get compliments all the time when I wear them and people can't understand how I got those patterns on my nails until I tell them my "secret". I should get a kickback from SH for promoting their product!

    1. Same with me, whenever I wear them I get tons of compliments. I always buy them when they are on clearance, never paying full price. Saw them recently at dollar tree. Tons of them on clearance at Ulta.

  2. E.L.F.'s eye shadow primer. I recommend it to friends and customers all the time.

  3. Cuticle cream, specifically Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Men, women, anybody. I keep having to buy it 'cause I keep giving away the tins I have to friends and relatives who try mine!

  5. Dr. Bronner's castile soap, it has sooo many uses! #1 would be diluted as a facial wash, #2 make-up brush cleanser, #3 floor cleaner (heavily diluted), #4 as a toothpaste, #5 as a delicate laundry soap for hand washables...I could go on and on! Another is the Fergie WNW eye primer, I did love the Milani one until I tried this one and kinda like it better. Fair Trade Foot Lotion by Lush is pricy but well worth it, I got the large size tub (don't recall if other sizes were available) and it has lasted me a year and I use it daily, or at least 5 days a week as I may forget a night or two. It works amazingly well and smells like spearmint with a hint of cocoa and it's a pretty bubblegum pink colour (for the record I don't care what colour a product is if it works, but it's kinda fun when something has eye appeal!)
