Name the last drugstore mascara you purchased, and tell us what you think of it!
The last drugstore mascara I purchased was the new Maybelline Lash Sensational, but I'm still testing it for review so I don't want to comment just yet about it. I cant wait to hear your responses to this one!
Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal in Classic Black. It was a repurchase, and I'm probably going to buy another with the $3.00 off coupon, which should pretty much say it all :). (This is the washable, not waterproof, although I have the waterproof too.)
ReplyDeleteCover Girl Lash Bloom, which is ...okay. It doesn't give me the length or volume I was hoping for, but at least I don't hate the brush as many reviewers seem to.
ReplyDeleteDitto
DeleteMine is also the lash sensational and I love it! The brush really separates my lashes and gives them a nice fanned out look. Before that was Jordana best lash extreme. I like that one a lot too but you definitely have to be careful with that one to avoid clumps and it's too messy for me to use on my bottom lashes.
ReplyDeleteNYC's Showtime mascara.
ReplyDeleteI have issues with mascara smudging on me halfway through the day. The only way around it is usually a waterproof mascara (but there are issues with those). This stuff doesn't smudge at all. I get nice volume from this mascara, not over the top. No flaking or spider eyes.
The only other drugstore mascara that I've had luck with is the stuff from Jordana. That stuff gives me crazy wow lashes. The stuff from NYC is better for everyday.
I love this mascara. It works wonderfully when layered with other mascaras, is waterproof, and comes off easily at the end of the day with makeup remover. It's become my new HG when layered over Falsies or that new Rimmel mascara with argan oil
DeleteI found the lash sensational was quite clumpy in the brush and dried out extremely fast, but for about 2 weeks it was brilliant heh it was my last drugstore mascara purchase, next I think I'll be trying the Rimmel Argan waterproof version!
ReplyDeleteCovergirl lash blast full lash bloom: Did not like. Usually a fan of CG LB formulas, this one didn't build as well.. kind of just stopped at a certain point and did not do enough for my puny lashes. Also found the wand painful, would continuously poke my lashline/waterline.
ReplyDeleteokay, so this is the perfect question because i JUST picked up/tried out a new (to me) mascara! It's the Loreal Double Extend (I affectionately call it the red/white tube) and i'm OBSESSED. This is my first time using a lash primer and i will never go back!
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, Maybelline Lash Sensational is the last mascara I purchased too! I really, really like it. I like the brush and think it does a fantastic job of getting every lash. This is much better than the L'Oreal Butterfly mascara. I think they are both in sort of the same category, but for me, I am way more impressed with the Maybelline. I keep reaching for it a lot in my mascara stash. I even purchased the waterproof formula when I saw it the other day since I like the non-wAterproof version so much. Thumbs up for me! Can't wait to see what you think, G.
ReplyDeleteCoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher, non-waterproof. I love it! Have purchased it multiple times and always with a coupon ;-)
ReplyDeleteL'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga- I dislike how bendy the wand is and that it dries up so quickly, but man does it make my lashes look great. Especially after I've been using it for a couple weeks, then they really look bangin'. Sometimes I'll layer it with Voluminous Carbon Black, and people will ask me if I'm wearing false lashes!
ReplyDeleteI just purchased and tried Miss Manga for the first time and LOVE it! I didn't think anything would make my lashes as nice as the Mally Volumizing Mascara I was given as a gift (but didn't want to spend $20+ to repurchase).
DeleteI am disappointed to hear it dries up quickly.
Wet n Wild Megalength waterproof mascara. Honestly, I'm really pleasantly surprised. It doesn't clump, is easy to apply, and is genuinely waterproof.
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite drugstore mascara! I use it in conjunction with a voluminous mascara but for lengthing the lashes this is the best!
DeleteThis is my absolute favorite mascara of all time. For me, I can layer it on (3+ coats) and my lashes are clump free.
DeleteHi g :) maybelline waterproof full & soft. Holds the curl (something most other mascaras fail at) and gives my lashes length and volume. Have been using it for years ever since they discontinued my holy grail original illegal lengths mascara.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Falsies. Black Drama is the only one I buy. Length and volume in one. Plus it doesn't flake into my contacts.
ReplyDeleteOnly have tried it briefly like two coats and out the door, twice http://www.lorealparis.ca/cosmetics/eyes/voluminous-million-lashes/carbon-black.aspx
ReplyDeletedid they change the brush since original launch? so far, love it but have been in too much of a hurry to properly use or test
Ops mistak on last comment had Voluminous False Fiber Lashes confused with Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara. I have been enjoying most of the new pnes mentioned above but no super wow . On a whim and ONE good review on youtube, I bought PF fiber mascara 2 step today, not opened yet
ReplyDeleteI saw a review on it but she has very sensitive eyes she said and fibers got in her eyes and it all around irritated her eyes. But she said if ur eyes r not sensitive like hers should be ok. Please let me know how it goes.
DeleteCurious about this one too!
DeleteI also just picked up the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. So far, it's okay. I like it for my bottom lashes
ReplyDeleteL'Oreal Miss Manga <3
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Falsies. I will never use anything else. It builds, it doesn't clump, doesn't smudge, comes off easily and I just love it.
ReplyDeleteI also recently purchased the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I disliked it for the first 2 weeks of use because it was too wet. But now that the formula has dried it works great at separating my lashes and lengthening them. Maybelline The Rocket will always be my favorite, but this one isn't too shabby!
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Full 'n' Soft while in the US - they don't sell it in the UK. Love the soft, natural, non-clumpy, non-spidery look, especially on top of a good lash primer. Babe lashes!
ReplyDeleteThe new WnW Volume Max mascara. While it didn't provide any volume, I'm pleasantly surprised by the lengthening I got without clumps. I'm going to try layering it with a Volumizing mascara.
ReplyDeleteUgh the Physicians Formula lash extension kit but I couldn't do it. Looks great but you have to suffer through fibers in the eyes and a goopy formula. Not worth it!
ReplyDeleteI bought the lash sensational mascara and the loreal manga lashes both at around the same time. I like both for different reasons but they also work well layered together. The lash sensational is really nice at separating all my lashes and i like the loreal for the thickness and it layers nicely and doesn't clump. The lash sensational is annoying to wash off though, it's sort of waxy and even with an oil cleanser it sticks some under my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI just got the Loreal Buttery Mascara and I love it! I use to be a Maybelline Falsies girl, but I like Loreal mascaras better.
ReplyDeleteI just bought the Essence Lash Princess mascara and it is SO GOOD! I have long, thin lashes, and this gives the craziest amount of volume in just one coat. It's hands down my new favorite mascara!
ReplyDeleteI opened NYX's Faux Lashes last Monday (bought it last Saturday), tried it for the first time and threw it out that night because it smudged horribly underneath the eyes. I don't have that problem with NYX's showtime mascara though. :/
ReplyDeleteNYC's City Curls mascara (I think that's it -- it curls and is in a magenta tube). I bought it in part because it was half-off but I also like it. It doesn't flake on me and does give a bit of curl.
ReplyDeleteI here Jordan's black one with purple writing is good. I have several but last bought was CG bombshell curvaceous by lash blast two in one. I have miss manga and Loreal Voluminous it's good. Lately I have samples of lights, camera, lashes and better than sex, and Dior Iconic over curl and use them some. I don't have a fave yet. I heard some good things about Clump crusher. And the Bloom when it first came out. But want to try the Jordana next. I have several lashes missing on one eye from shingles scars. And trying to figure out falsies. I have a cpl pair to play with. Thanks for this blog I love it so much. First thing I check in the mornings to see what's going on.
ReplyDeleteMost recent purchase I am using is the CoverGirl Clump Crusher (green tube, curved wand) as a first layer and NYC City Proof Buildable as a second coat. 2-steps but works well. I bought Rimmel London Wonder'Lash Mascara with Argan Oil along with them, and even though I have a ton of other unopened tubes from sales, I will try that one next. Currently using NYC Big Bold mascara as often as I can because it's my easiest-to-apply, one-step, go-to tube (so easy to hold, finds all my lashes on first try!), and I want to use it up as I approach the exp date.
ReplyDeleteMost recently, Lash Sensational and CG Full Lash Bloom. I'm loving both actually! Bloom seems to be a marriage between Lash Blast and Clump Crusher, but doesn't leave lashes soft like Clump Crusher. It's still a new favorite of mine!
ReplyDeleteI bought Jordana's Best Lash Extreme on Saturday and have been loving it. I love a wet formula and a fiber brush. I do not like plastic wands because my eyes are super sensitive. Definitely a must try and I believe it was only $2.49 at Walgreen's.
ReplyDeleteOf all the drugstore mascaras, I like Voluminous Butterfly the most. It gives my short, straight, and sparse Asian lashes a nice falsies look. I am still in search of my HG of mascara though. I am currently using Hypnose Star. It lengthens, but smudges after a few hours and clumps like crazy. It's great for lengthening though.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a Maybelline mascara girl. I'm currently using L'oreal Miss Manga and then the new WnW volume stuff (in the new red tube) over it. I have tried lots of mascaras and always go for the volumizing ones and will probably never pay more than $8 for mascara. I don't think the expensive ones are any better than the drugstore brands. I also like Essence I "Heart" Volume which I think costs under $5.
ReplyDeleteL'Oreal Power Voluminous Volume 24 Hour Mascara (with collagen spheres) in Blackest Black
ReplyDeleteMy last mascara purchase (I bought 2) were Lash Sensational and Rimmel Wonder Lash. Really liking both =)
ReplyDeleteI bought the new WnW Max mascara a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely hate the brush, which made a complete mess of application. I had to fix the goopy mess with my lash brush. it's a shame since the mascara stayed on all day without flaking or smearing. I'm going to stick with Miss Manga.
ReplyDeleteWet N Wild Mega Plump in the pink tube is my jam.
ReplyDeleteI bought Covergirl's Super Thick Lash based on a recommendation from a YouTuber. It's oneone of their mascaras that has been in the line for a long time. It's just okay. The formula is super dry!
ReplyDeleteJust wrote a post about this but I've been absolutely loving the Loreal Voluminous Original mascara! It's very underrated.
ReplyDeleteMy last mascara purchase was L'Oreal's Miss Manga in Teal Craze. It is highly pigmented and still lengthens and adds volume to my lashes like the original formula in black!
