The Lipstick League - week of 1.12.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week:

What’s your current favorite top coat and how long have you been using it for your manicures?

G's answer: My holy grail top coat is still NYC Grand Central Station, which isn't technically a top coat, but that's how so many of us use it! I've been using it religiously since Summer 2013 and you can read my full review HERE (you just cannot beat it for $1.99 a bottle, or even less if you catch it on sale).

The Lipstick League Links of the Week:

Prime Beauty - takes a look back at her Top 10 Favorite Beauty Products in 2014!

Phyrra - Looking for the best matte liquid lipstick formula? Phyrra found it! It's the Fyrinnae Liquid Matte Lipsticks!

we heart this - They're not new, but they're pretty! And we swatched a BUNCH of them; the L’Oreal Colour Riche Ombre Quads.

Beautygeeks - Canadian winter -- GAH! We’re distracting ourselves with this sneak peek of the forthcoming Essie Resort 2015 collection.

Beauty Junkies Unite - Even if Miley Cyrus isn't your cup of tea, PLEASE don't miss this review & swatches of the new MAC Viva Glam Lipstick & Lipglass shades launching for the first half of 2015. 100% of the purchases of MAC Viva Glam x Miley Cyrus goes directly to the MAC AIDS Fund, and they've been doing so much good since 1994!

EauMG - My perfume pals have spoken! Here’s the perfumes that you thought were the best new launches of 2014! A big thanks to everyone that voted!

Gouldylox Reviews - How can you say no to this palette? Assuming you can still find it, that is.

Love for Lacquer - If you’re a fan of Young Wild & Polished, you are going to LOVE this duo from Glisten & Glow!

My Beauty Bunny - We heart tarte! But is their Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation a hit or a miss? Check out our latest video and find out.

My Newest Addiction - Matte palettes are super popular lately and Laura shows us the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette. She loves it so much she even went as far as to say it could be THE eyeshadow palette of 2015.

Nouveau Cheap - Ulta is releasing a brand new Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette on February 1st, but if you want a sneak peek (with swatches), click right here.

  1. Used to be Seche Vite, but I realize it can turn yellow after a week and the brush is just not very well made. Now I use Sally Hansen InstaDry if I have more time to kill as it doesn't dry as fast as Seche Vite. I just wish there's a top coat with the positives of both top coats.

  2. Out the Door! It makes my nails super glossy and doesn't make my polish "shrink" like Seche Vite does.

  3. I also use the NYC one. It works the best for me out of all the others I've tried. Since a lot of drugstores have been having NYC 50 percent off lately, I've been picking up a spare bottle here and there when I can find it (which is not often). But I am hoarding these, just in case!

  4. Essie Good To Go. I find it is the most chip-resistant topcoat. I do like the NYC too but for some reason I keep reaching for my beloved Essie. Great question. Can't wait to see what others use...

  5. I'm just like you, Sister... NYC GRAND CENTRAL STATION all the way!

There are 50 or soare bottles indon't my closetpolish just in case it gets discontined. Super cheap. Works great. Love it.

  6. I use Hard Rock from Deborah Lippmann. I love it because it dries almost instantly to an indestructible finish. I can put this over cheap polish and that polish will perform like expensive polish because of my top coat. Plus I can layer coat after coat of it on my nails and it still dries instantly. It's also super shiny.

  7. NYC Grand Central Station, Poshé, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, Out the Door, European Rock Top Coat are in my rotation. I love them all for different reasons.

  8. Oh So Wet. Dries fast like seche, doesn't shrink or drag. I tried NYC, didn't work for me at all.

  9. HK girl from Glisten and glow! It's the best. Look at any YouTube nail tutorial by Young wild and polished. She raved about it so much I had to try! She talks about it on her Instagram too.

  10. I recently made the switch to both the OPI base and top coats, and I'm not looking back. They're both perfect!
