One Direction The Looks Collection - Take Me Home Set
One Direction The Looks Collection - Take Me Home Set
One of three sets now available for purchase at Macy's
(retail: $28 per set)
Above is one of three "The Looks Collection" sets now available for purchase at Macy's. You can view/purchase all three sets HERE. If you just take the makeup products in this set (of which there are six--I'm not counting the stencil kit), the $28 price tag works out to about $4.60 per product. But of course you're also getting stencils and a fancy package.
It looks like a lot of work went into the packaging/design of these sets--if you want to see what the inside of the Take Me Home set looks like, click HERE. If you'd like to see swatches and a review of all of the items in the Take Me Home set, click HERE. And for those of you who don't click that link, let me just confirm for you that the eyeshadow palette contains four neutral matte powder eyeshadows plus a glittery gold cream eyeshadow (but apparently the glitter is just an overspray).
I'm not sure if I'd purchase anything from this collection (I'm clearly not the demographic here) but like I said earlier, I like that Markwins is behind it, versus a random manufacturer that no one's ever heard of before.
Are you a One Direction fan? Do you already own any of these sets? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Not a fan, and not sorry...to each his/her own, I'm not a hater. I too like that it is from Markwins, but do not feel the pull to get over to Macy*s, so its a pass for me. I did however get a scented insert inside the new Ulta catalog of the 1D newest frag, and whoa...what a nice change from the typical teenybopper perfume! It smells really nice imo! Sorry I forgot the name, and I'm not home atm.
ReplyDeletei won one of these its cheap maybe they should sell it at walmart
ReplyDeleteJust think of the makeup collections Duran Duran could have inspired back in the day! THAT I would have bought, oh the missed marketing opportunities, such an innocent time ;)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, yes, I would've been ALL OVER a Duran Duran makeup collection back when I was a teen in the 80s! :-D
DeleteA Duran Duran collection would have been awesome. Nick Rhodes always wore makeup, so it'd have been perfect.
DeleteI was sent some of the collection to review - the lipstick is just like the Wet n' Wild matte lipsticks, the nail polish is on par with the old school Wet n' Wild polishes. The gloss is AWESOME, the body crayon is nice and pigmented, the eyeshadow is "eh" and the mascara sucks. Figured it was worth mentioning! lol
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY time I bought makeup because it was associated with something I love, was when MAC did the Wonder Woman collection. I bought one each of lip gloss, nail polish & eye shadow palette.
ReplyDeleteIt was the first (and only) time I spent over $80 in makeup at one time.
Sjnce then, I'm nit really tempted to buy things like this anymore.
I received one of the collections to try out. The colors certainly weren't ones that I would wear, but the quality was pretty good. Especially for the lip products. I wasn't a fan of the eyeshadows -- they didn't blend well. Mascara was great, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteyou and I is the name of the perfume. And what kind of decals are in the set
ReplyDeleteI was given the chance to try this set before it was launched and I do admit, I was impressed at first, but then realized how cheap it was. The eyeshadows lasted only a few hours on me and everything else just didn't cut it. Sorry if that's harsh :/
ReplyDeleteI work at Macy's so I saw these when they came in. I didn't know Markwins made these sets. I am not a fan of OD and am not in their demographic either. The other employee commented about these when she unpacked them, saying " What are we, Walmart?" I think this is something more suited to a drugstore VS a nicer dept. store. It'll be interesting to see how well these sell (or don't). The celebrity fragrances have mostly been pulled to Return To Vendor since they really aren't selling.
ReplyDeleteThe set looks OK, but it looks more like a dressed-up Wet n Wild set. I guess if you're a fan of the band or the colors, fine, but I'll pass. For $28 I'd rather raid the fall NYC and Sinful Colors collections.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of One Direction but I am intrigued by the lip glosses. I would consider picking one up if they were sold individually and available at one of the drugstores or Walmart/Target. Until then I think I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was the best of Wet n Wild, but from the reviews it looks like it's the worst of Wet n Wild with the powder eyeshadows being chalky, powdery, and under-pigmented and those glitter on top of wax things? Ugh! Also a hard waxy pencil, nope, not for me. The only thing that might we worthwhile is the gloss. Apparently the lipstick is sheer and the glitter in the polish does the taco curl. Not a fan of 1D since I'm probably old enough to be their granny! But I love me some WnW when they are at the top of their game. Maybe it's kind of meant to be play makeup for the 1D demographic?
ReplyDeleteLike someone said earlier definite pass on the makeup, but the perfume smells great. It's fruity with an extra oomph that I really like. I was pleasantly surprised.
ReplyDeleteCelebrity perfumes have been some of the most acclaimed ones being released recently! I specifically remember Justin Bieber's Someday winning the an award for being the product of the year when it was introduced.
DeleteAll that said, I've noticed that lots of celebrity fragrances are a bit too sweet for my personal taste, including This Moment. I wonder if it's because the audience the fragrances are being created for is in a younger demographic.
I work for Macys and swatched a couple shadows. I was surprised by the pigmentation. Makes sense now that I know they are from Markwins. We actually have sold some!
ReplyDeleteI work at Target, in toys a lot of the time. There's a Barbie play makeup kit thingy for little girls and it's made by Markwins too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a OneDirection fan, but know that they collaborated with Office Depot on nail polish. I found out when I was looking for other nail polish videos on YouTube. :/
ReplyDeleteI've also tried the tester for their perfume at retailers like Target and ULTA and am definitely not a fan! Much too sweet for my taste. :( I feel like a lot of celebrity fragrances are have that in common, like Enchanted, Wonderstruck and Someday.
Nice to know this were made by the same makers of Wet N Wild made this. I'm a HUGE fan of 1D but I never have found any of their beauty products in my country, also for what I have seen their mascara sucks and it's a bit expensive to me...I don't know :/...too much money gifted to their managers lol. But I still love the packaging and I'm intrigued in trying these, I wish I was lucky enough to get it :/
