Michaels Semi-Annual Storage Event (now through Saturday, 8/9)

If you've been thinking about doing some beauty reorganizing this fall, here's a sale that might help!

Now through 8/4, all storage products are 40% off at Michaels (in-store and online). For you polish fanatics, Melmers are $19.99 this week (regularly $39.99). If you don't know what a Melmer is, CLICK HERE for my explanation.

Also, Michaels now offers their products online, with free everyday shipping on orders $50+ (flat-rate shipping of $6.95 for orders under $50). Click here to view all items that are part of the SAS storage event. As of the time of this post, Melmers are listed in their online store, but currently out of stock. Be sure to call ahead to your local Michaels to make sure they have some Melmers in stock before you head over...just to be safe!

PS: I still adore my handy Staples desktop organizer for brushes and other things I use on a daily basis, but I've had my eye on this giant carousel for a long time now. I love that it has drawers and other neat features. Do any of you use this for makeup/brush storage? I'd love to hear from you!

    1. Right? I'm so tempted! :)

    2. Don't waste your money on the carousel, ladies. The drawers are extremely tiny (ex: holds 2 sharpeners and 1 small eyeliner pot), and the bins are really deep. I had to scrunch a bunch of paper towels down into the bottom so that everything I put in the carousel didn't disappear. There are much better organizers out there!

  2. The site shows the Melmer for 19.99, which is actually 50% off the original price and not 40%. Do you think the sale price will be the same in store or will it be 23.99?

    1. A reader told me the all Recollections are 50% off in-store too, but I can't 100% confirm this since I haven't been to Michaels myself yet this week. I'd definitely call to make sure, before you go!

  3. Just wanted to clarify that the nail polish storage cubes are actually called "Recollections drawer cube." Its so well known by its nickname in the nail polish community that more than a few people have had problems finding it when it came time to locate it at the store. Here's a post with a picture of what it looks like in the box, as well as assembled. http://marioshutup.wordpress.com/2013/01/10/my-new-melmer/

  4. I actually was one of those people, LOL. :D I ended up searching Makeup Alley for a post with a picture that I showed the the sales associate.

  5. I've bought four of the Melmers...was a little peeved when the last two had a different handle and color/finish of the white melamine was a bit different than the two I already had. The handles of the two newer ones curve down into a narrower point instead of the full width curving over, if that makes any sense. I thought they were all the same Recollections boxes, all from the same Michaels store near my house. Didn't even notice until after assembly, so nothing to be done about it. Just sharing :)

  7. Great deal, I'm there. Besides, dear hubby has been after me for some time due to my messy 'Polish room', and now I can justify shopping :) thanks G!
