If you could pick one higher-end beauty product and instantly bring it down to the drugstore level (in terms of price and availability) without changing the product in any way, which product would it be?
It's kind of boring, but I think I would pick MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow single. I've been wearing that color for years, and I've spent about the same amount of time trying to find an exact dupe from the drugstore. I've come very, very close, but there's something about the real thing pulls me back to it again and again. So if I could blink my eyes and have it on drugstore shelves--without any modifications--at a price of say, $5.99? I'd be all over that!
I don't buy too many higher-end products, but...MAC's Rubenesque paint pot, because of the softness with the gold duotone/duochrome shimmer. Either that, or Bare Study because it's such a wonderful matte finish. (And they'd be permanent, not LE!!!)
ReplyDeleteI guess mine is kinda boring too lol - Urban Decay's Sin
ReplyDeleteI'd pick NARS Laguna!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty blender. I love it but it's overpriced. And the one at the drugstores do not compare in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI HAVE to second this. I have wanted this for so long but it's just too expensive for me. I will probably try the real techniques one but I know it is just not the same.
DeleteHave you tried the Real Techniques one? I have heard that one is a REAL dupe.
DeleteMAC mineralize concealer ;)
ReplyDeleteamore pacific tinted moisturizer
ReplyDeleteCle de Peau concealer. $75,00 is way way to much but it is so so good. Hate to say it but if I had the extra money I would definitely buy it and use it everyday.
ReplyDeletePerfekt skin perfection gel in Luminous or Radiant (depends in how tan I got during season) Amazing primer, would even border in BB territory and no melting in humid FL.
ReplyDeleteHourglass Ambient Lighting Powders...soooo good but soooo expensive!
ReplyDeleteBenefit Boing concealer
ReplyDeleteI would pick MAC lipglass. I love it, but 15-16 dollars for lipgloss is steep!
ReplyDeleteMac Dazzle Glass lip gloss in any shade! I love how it stays put on a lip smoosher like me and yes it is sticky and bit heavy, but a beauty girl that is also an athlete, I find it lasts through an entire race! (Yes I wear lipgloss while playing sports!)
ReplyDeleteIT Cosmetics CC+ Cream...it has become my HG, and I wear it every single day! To be able to get it at a drugstore price would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteAny high-end brand true white foundation to lighten all those wonderful too dark drug store formulas I can't wear.
ReplyDeleteTry Manic Panic Dream Tone! :)
DeleteIT Cosmetics Bye-Bye Undereye Concealer. Its the best concealer I've used by miles. $25 is kinda steep, but it's actually not too bad considering how long the tube lasts--probably half a year or more. It's so pigmented, I only need the tinest dab, and I have some DARK circles.
ReplyDeleteTry Hard Candy camoflauge ... omg, it's the exact same and way cheaper!
DeleteThanks for that tip!!
DeleteExfoliakate. Love the scrub. Hate the price.
ReplyDeleteNo competition here, it would be YSL Temps Majeur Supreme Creme. I love the feel of that moisturizer so much.....but at $380 per jar......
ReplyDeleteBlinc eyebrow mousse!
ReplyDeleteKat Von D's Lock-It Foundation. what I wouldn't give for a drugstore foundation with shades that pale and pinkish, with that matte staying power, or with that degree of opaque coverage. it's actually still a good deal considering how much you get for the price and how little you have to use, but still. 40ish bucks for face paint still makes me anxious!
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely many lol ... but I guess my pick would be Urban Decay smudge-proof pencils!! The colors and the quality is to die for, but I can't spend that much on eye pencils!!
DeleteHave you tried Wet N Wild Nutty? It's a very very close dupe to Satin Taupe.
ReplyDeleteShe is a wet n wild affiliate so I'm sure she has!
DeleteAny and all Chanel
ReplyDeleteAnastasia Brow Gel...I just have not been able to find a GOOD drugstore brow gel and I have tried many :-/
ReplyDeleteI rarely buy high-end stuff. I wouldn't mind some of those high-end spot correctors being cheaper, though, like the $50 ones being $14 or something. If the Tarte lip crayons or the Fresh Sugar lip tints were something like $5 instead of $22 and up, I'd buy them regularly.
ReplyDeleteDior's Poison. That counts, right?
ReplyDeleteI know I should be thinking big, but MAC MSFN. The Sephora brand dupe is still $22.
ReplyDeleteChanel lipstick.
