Limited Edition Revlon by Marchesa Red Carpet Collection
The new Limited Edition Revlon by Marchesa Red Carpet Collection is now hitting stores, and today I have everything you need to know about this one. Not only did I receive some press material about this collection, but I also received some lovely photos of this display thanks to longtime reader Kratrina of All The Beautiful Colors, who spotted this collection at the drugstore recently.
There is nothing new in this collection (it's comprised of "a selection of Revlon's signature color cosmetic pieces") but the packaging is definitely new (and limited edition). Keep reading for the inspiration for the design, and lots of pics...

Limited-Edition Cosmetics Collection to Benefit Half the Sky Movement
Revlon and Marchesa introduce the third collection from their successful collaboration, The Revlon by Marchesa Red Carpet Collection. The Red Carpet Collection is a celebration of the elegance, femininity and beauty that is a red carpet moment. The collection is comprised of a selection of Revlon’s signature color cosmetic pieces, each beautifully packaged in a custom Marchesa design. This design was inspired by the romantic lace pattern that has been showcased on some of Marchesa’s most famous red carpet dresses.
In creating this color collection, Marchesa co-founders Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig felt it important to pay homage to their favorite red carpet beauty looks. Working with the Revlon team, they created three distinct color collections to represent these looks: The Opulent look combines a striking dark lip with glamorous jewel nail appliques; the Romantic look pairs nude lips and nail tips with powdery fresh skin, while the Daring look takes the hottest trend shades to a dramatic level.
“Beauty plays such a huge role in completing a red carpet look and we wanted this collection to be representative of some of our most iconic red carpet moments,” said Keren Craig, co-founder and textile director for Marchesa. “We were inspired by the bespoke elements found in the Marchesa collections and translated them to the packaging through beautiful hues and intricate designs. This exclusive collection makes it possible for every woman to have her own show-stopping beauty moment.
It was important for this collection to not only be representative of the glamour and beauty of both brands, but also of their charitable nature. In honor of the Revlon by Marchesa Red Carpet Collection, Revlon has provided $15,000 in funding support to Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. This movement is a ground-breaking initiative, cutting across platforms to ignite the change needed to put an end to the oppression of women and girls worldwide, the defining issue of our time. Inspired by journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's book of the same name, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide brings together video, websites, games, blogs and other educational tools to not only raise awareness of women's issues, but to also provide concrete steps to fight these problems and empower women.

Again, there's nothing new in this collection--it's the packaging that's new (and limited edition). Also note that there are $1 off Revlon coupons on this display (see pic at the top of this post).
Have you spotted this collection in your area yet? Thoughts?
Thanks again, Kratrina, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!
I remember getting gray suede from a warehouse sale for like $2, glad to see it's making its return :)
ReplyDeleteDarn it! I was hoping for new shades!
ReplyDeleteThe lipstick packaging's cute. I wish they'd come up with a few new colors for it, but it's a good way to pick up some favorites or finally try the colors, especially with coupons.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful packaging. Don't think I'm interested in any of the colors unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI've been contemplating Pink Cognito so this must be the Make Up God's way of telling me to buy it. I just really hope my Wal Greens puts this out soon so that I can use the Revlon lippie coupon from the February coupon book.
ReplyDeleteI need those lipsticks!
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so FETCH! ;) I'm only tempted by the nail art though
ReplyDeleteAwwwwh, I wish they had done new shades, packaging is so cute. Love marchesa. I already have all lipstick colors. Might still pick up one though.
