The Holiday 2013 gift sets from e.l.f. have landed (and more!)

As longtime reader and photo-contributor Kimberly so eloquently put it, it's officially "Look Up Season" at the drugstores! Holiday 2013 has arrived and often times, the best makeup collections and sets can't be found on the normal, eye-level shelves. Drugstores receive so much holiday inventory at this time of year that they have to place many of these products high up on top of the regular shelves. So you literally have "look up" to find them!

Huge thanks to Kimberly of Libby's Pink Vanity for this sighting. Kimberly found the Holiday 2013 sets from e.l.f., Profusion and SOHO at her local Walgreens this week and she shared tons of pics with us. If you're an e.l.f. fan, you'll want to sit down for this one, because e.l.f. has really outdone themselves for Holiday 2013!

Look up to find the Holiday 2013 gift sets!

First, the e.l.f. Holiday 2013 gift sets (pricing is printed on the boxes):

I've been wanting to try some of the e.l.f. Geometric palettes since I first posted about them back in July. I'm beyond excited that these are at Walgreens for the holidays!

I believe these nail polish cubes are $10, just like the Disney Villains nail cube

Profusion is back again with Urban Decay Naked-esque palettes for Holiday 2013! If you'll recall, for Holiday 2012 they released Naked-lookalikes at both Walgreens and Big Lots and when I found both palettes at my local Big Lots, I did a big comparison post comparing them to the UD Naked palette. Last year's Profusion Holiday palettes were called Midnight Fever and Sultry & Neutrals, but this year, as you can see above, they're called Bare and Smoky.  I'm very curious how the 2013 palettes will compare to last year's palettes!

So...what do you think of the Holiday 2013 gift set offerings so far? Are you excited to pick up anything featured in this post? Have you spotted these gift sets at your local Walgreens yet?

Thanks so very much, Kimberly, for the awesome sightings and pics. I really appreciate it!

  1. And this would be why I seem to spend as much on myself as I do on friends & family during the holidays, lol. Those ELF palettes look awesome.

  2. Super excited for the profusion palettes! I got one last year in a clearance sale left over from the holidays and I had never heard of the brand. Pretty solid decision, the shadows were GREAT! I think I will pass on most of the elf stuff...there doesn't seem to be any incentives to buy the gift sets vs each thing individually...If those brushes were studio THEN we would talk...

  3. I was giddy finding these! I got a couple of things. Just a $1 and a $2 palette.

  4. The brush set with the gold ferrule looks so classy! Is there another close up shot of what the smaller brushes are?

  5. Ohh...ahhhhhhhh...*living vicariously through this post*
They all look great... my thing with elf is that even though I love their products (mainly shadows and brushes), I bought all of their Lil black book palettes and the neutral palette plus the baked palette....I feel like any more palettes just gets repetitive and I'll end up with the same eye-shadows just in different packages/style or one or two new colors.
    Does that make sense?

  6. Was at my local Walgreens yesterday and saw all the Profusion stuff but they didn't have the e.l.f. stuff yet. Will be on the lookout for some of the e.l.f. sets, since I don't own any of them. Thanks for the great pictures! :D

  7. It's definitely gift set time already! I was at ULTA yesterday and there were quite a few tempting gift sets in the high end section of the store.

Thanks for the info on the new stuff at the drug store, G and Kimberly! The ELF sets look very tempting. :)

  8. Haha, definitely agree with "look up season." Being short, it hurts the neck but you tend to learn to use the mirrors at an angle at Walgreens to spot those high up displays. :) Now if only we always had someone tall with us when we shopped.

    1. Emily, I'll come with you! I'm 6 feet tall and trust me, I've been at stores before where people have asked me to get stuff off the top shelf before. :D

  9. I can't wait for my next haul so I can try some of this collection (:

  10. I saw all that e.l.f. stuff on an endcap in Target today. No looking up necessary there. lol

  11. So I'd spend about $11 on pretty Profusion palettes that have nice differences from NAKED? Yes please!

Some of the e.l.f. stuff looks nice but I don't know.

  12. I especially love the "look up" caption. Im a shortie and usually miss things when they're out of my eye line.

  13. Looking up at drugstores costs me money! I'm more eager, however, for some of the other new sightings that you've posted, G. And on a side note, I can't help but wonder if Kimberly is wearing Zoya's Tracie on her nails ...

  14. are the elf holiday sets available online yet? i want everything! ahhhh

  15. Definitely look up! Also look down, look on endcaps, and look in other areas of the store!

I like the simpler eye shadow palettes; the geometric ones look pretty but also like they'd be difficult to use.

  16. I think I'm more inclined to purchase the Profusion palettes than the elf ones. I'm not a huge fan of geometric palettes with tons of colors in them, in general - I much prefer square, rectangular or round pans.

  17. Great finds! I'm going to remember about "looking up" next time I'm at the drug store.

  18. I must get! Especially the nail cube from ELF! I did get the ELF shimmery eyes 12 shadow set and hit pan in the purple line up (which was weird since I only used that line up once) and now have to get another! Walgreens you will be visited in a week or two! Nyah!

  19. G! Saw a bunch of these same holiday palettes, smaller beauty books and new elf lip stains (marker type, not gloss) at the Target off Balboa just yesterday. Would've sent pictures but my phone was dead ;/
