If you could design your dream six-pan eyeshadow palette, what would it contain? What would the packaging look like?
Obviously, all six shades would be highly pigmented and have a creamy, buttery texture similar to the best Wet n Wild Coloricon shadows. My dream six-pan would contain three shimmers (no glitter) in a cool taupe, a warm taupe and a khaki greenish-brown duochrome. On the other side, it would contain three mattes in bone, medium cement gray and olive green. For packaging, if I could take a Paul & Joe Face Color Compact and stretch it out into a rectangular six-pan palette, that would be my ideal packaging (scalloped edges and all, please). The size would be identical to a NARS 6-pan palette.
My palette would be the ultimate neutral palette. It will contain 2 shimmer shades, 4 matte shades (shimmer vanilla shade, matte vanilla shade, shimmer medium brown, matte medium brown, matte dark brown, and matte black). They will be very pigmented, buttery smooth, easy to blend (ie WnW eyeshadows or theBalm eyeshadows). Packaging is rectangular that fits in your palm, with a mirror, 1 dual ended eyeshadow brush, 1 dual ended sponge tip applicator. Most of all, they will be at drugstore prices, making it affordable for everyone! And, just for kicks, this palette will be better than Michelle Phan's line, hahaha, just kidding ;)
ReplyDeleteA dream ultimate six-palette huh? Hmm...That's difficult. So everything is of course, easy to blend, super buttery, and long-lasting. How about...1 sheer opal multichrome light opal shimmer strongly flashing either blue, purple, or green. One dark toned vibrant satin in either blurple or green to go with the opal overlay. One medium toned neutral satin taupe. One light-medium duochrome peach/rose gold shimmer. One medium-dark matte neutral brown. One lavender/pale blue satin with silver shimmer. I always carry a single Urban Decay Foxy or the equivalent with my palettes anyway so I won't include a pale matte or transitionals. I'm actually a huge fan of NARS rubbery packaging bc of how it always absorbs shock so well when products get dropped and the water resistance (if I get the vanity wet by accident) so I'd like my shadows to be stored in a vibrant magenta version of that.
ReplyDeleteMine would be all shimmer/satin. Black,a bright but darker purple,a deep emerald,a super saturated deep pink,a bone type color,a deep sapphire blue all put in a black velvet box. The top of the box has black and silver skulls :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm .... I'd have to put one together of colors I tend to wear most, so an almond shadow, a smokey medium taupe that leans a tiny bit into lavender and gray, a warm forest green, a plummy purple, a medium gold that looks antiqued, and an olive green. All would have a very fine shimmer, very fine, just a touch above matte. The packaging would be black and sleek, and not feel cheap or clunky, have a good mirror, room for a brush and applicator, and it would snap shut firmly so it would never open in my purse, and the shadows would never crumble. I'd want bigger pans for the gold and almond shades, medium size pans for the olive and taupe, and smallest pans for the plum and forest green.
ReplyDeleteUm, i dont have to create my dream pallette, you just did!!
ReplyDeletemy dream palette... wooo. obviously, an excellent formula is a MUST, but...hm.
ReplyDelete1. matte, creamy highlight shade.
2. shimmery, creamy/champagney highlight shade.
3. matte, medium brown, slightly darker than my skin tone.
4. shimmery, brown-taupeish shade (wnw nutty)
5. matte, dark almost-black-espresso brown
6. a top-coat like sparkly shade, just for fun! :P
as far as packaging goes...
sponge tip applicators
dual ended brush (crease/blending brush and liner brush)
large mirror
rectangular, pretty secure. not tooo specific about that :P
Hope someone in the beauty industry is reading this and contacts you to bring your dream palette to life, because I totally want that khaki duochrome! How cool would that be if one of the drugstore cosmetic brands did a LE beauty bloggers collection?!
ReplyDeleteI have thought about this so much!! I love neutrals and I have a million neutral pallets but all of them are missing a matte cream for my highlight, a matte taupe, and a matte medium brown. Even the naked basics let me down with the shimmery cream! Lol
