The Lipstick League – week of 9.2.13

Lipstick League Question of the Week

What is your all-time favorite shade of blush?

G's answer: Oh my, that's a difficult one! Sadly, I think that my very favorite shade of blush is CoverGirl + Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry, but that entire line of blushes has been discontinued.  It's a good thing that I stocked up during clearances sales, and that one compact lasts me forever. I don't know what it is about that particular shade, but I've had several people tell me over the years that I look like I just have a natural rosy glow to my face when I wear it, and that it doesn't even look like I'm wearing blush. I'm devastated that it's gone forever and if any of you know of a good dupe, I would be grateful for the tip!

  1. Mellow Wine by Wet N Wild. Rosy shades are the only ones that look good on my fair skin. I can't pull off pinks, peaches, or corals.

  2. I'm not much of a blush girl.. but my favorites are the Loreal true match. I have all three shades in my skin tone range (c/n/w in 1-2 and they all look good on me. They are not terribly pigmented and don't look like much in the pan but when applied they all look totally natural and give life and color to my skin without looking like I'm obviously wearing blush. I've seen some reviews where people were not happy with the color and I've noticed they tend to pick based on the actual color they think looks pretty instead of the shade recommended for their skin.. try trusting the label.. you will be surprised how nice it looks. I also like the Milani baked blushes and the CG simply ageless you mentioned.

  3. I wear blush more in the fall and winter but I can't say I have a favorite. Right now I'm really liking one of those NYC palette blushes that looks like a mosaic. It has peachy shades and I think I found it in Dollar Tree. It's subtle and adds a bit of life.

  4. My first choice for powder blush for many years was Lancome Blush Subtil in 'Cedar Rose.' It has been replaced by NYX 'Pinched'. I just love the nice healthy glow it gives my fair skin!

  5. Iman Cosmetics blush in Sunlit Copper. It gives such a beautiful glow. I also love Black Radiance blush in Spiced Ginger.
