The Lipstick League – week of 3.25.13

Lipstick League Question of the Week

What’s the most expensive beauty product that you have purchased in the last three months?

G's answer: I purchased a $30 leave-in conditioner at my last hair appointment. I loved the smell and how my hair looked after she used it, but when I got it home and started using it, I realized that my drugstore leave-ins actually work just as well on my hair. It was her meticulous blow-out that made my hair look better--not the product!

  1. I gave in to my wants and indulged in Urban Decay's Oz palette in both Glinda and Theodora. I just couldn't pick one so I went all out and am very happy with both. I have light-medium skin, light hair, and light eyes, so I wasn't sure they would both work with my coloration. I am happy to report that they both look fabulous on me! i wonder how they do that? Create make up that looks good on every skintone? Magic of make up :)

  2. I purchased a caffeinated green tea antioxidant cream for about $55 to help with my redness bc nothing seemed to be working on my inflamed skin. It actually did the trick but I'm now looking for less costly alternatives and so far, no luck. Skincare can get so expensive!

  3. I've been really cheap lately, lol. The highest dollar item I bought were two of the Sephora Pro Lesson palettes.. but I got them on clearance for way cheap so I don't think that counts. Very nice shadows. I almost bought the new Loreal miracle blur.. but I managed to find a sample and did not care for it. The best way I can describe it is putting shortening on your face.

  4. The Urban Decay Glinda palette. GORGEOUS! But I don't have a lot of high-end cosmetics, so that purchase really pinched my wallet.

  6. The Color Club Halo Hues collection (if a collection counts). 12 gorgeous linear holographic polishes. So much love, no regrets!

If I have to go with a single product it was probably the Physician's Formula bronzer I picked up last month.

  7. My most pricey acquisition of recent is the Theodora palette that my husband surprised me with. I really like the Glinda palette better, but we won't tell him that! It really was a very thoughtful and awesome gift, even if it was an expensive one. :D

  9. A Too Faced lipstick and theBalm's Meet Matte palette are the most expensive beauty product I have purchased this year.

  10. Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5 @ $55 usd. (A repurchase). One 1oz tube lasts me about one year! I don't use it everyday...but maybe 3 or 4 nights per week. It replaces moisturizer, made my pores seem not as bad (though I use a Clarisonic Mia, so not sure which helped more) and i'd like to think I'm sloughing down signs of aging...haha see what I did there?
