Textured nail lacquers are definitely the next new wave to roll through the world of polish (see the OPI Liquid Sand polishes in the recent Mariah Carey Collection, the Zoya Pixie Dust Collection, etc). So when reader Angie shared these pics of the new limited edition Textured Creams Collection from Milani, I was thrilled to see this trend brought to the drugstore level so soon. Milani, you are ON it! Take a peek:

Angie purchased three shades from this collection (which she spotted at Fred Meyer; a regional chain in the Pacific Northwest, notorious for getting new LE collections before the rest of the country). You can see swatches of the three shades she purchased over on her blog here.
I have to say, looking at Angie's swatches, that these are very different than the OPI and Zoya collections. I really like that these don't seem to contain any sparkle--the gray shade almost reminds me of bumpy asphalt. I think the overall effect is really cool and it has a fun, 80s, plastic-y vibe to it.
Have you spotted these in your area yet? Please click here for official information from Milani regarding availability.
Thanks so much, Angie, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!
Awesome! What store can these be found in?
ReplyDeleteAside from Fred Meyer (as mentioned above) I don't have any official info about distribution. However, Milani LE collections usually show up at select CVS locations and sometimes at other regional retailers. Hope that helps!
DeleteInteresting. They look kind of gross, I think I'd like them better with some sparkle. Oh well, I doubt I'd find these any way, I can barely find anything from Milani (thankfully cherryculture.com exists for people like me).
ReplyDeleteDifferent. Not sure how I'll like the texture but those oolors sure are pretty and I'll probably try these.
ReplyDeleteI spotted these at HEB along with in store coupons for $2.00 off all Milani products.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they would snag on everything.
ReplyDeleteThat was my concern too, but when I wore the one I got it wasn't an issue for me.
DeleteI really want to find these!
ReplyDeleteThe Walgreens in the Denver area do NOT carry Milani. I'm told they haven't in a long time. I'm going to Ulta on Friday and hope I can find them there. Oh, and even Rite Aid didn't carry Milani. Gracious! I'm panicky!! I want these polishes!!!
ReplyDeleteThese really remind me of the Nails Inc. concrete effect. They're not out yet in the US, but might be in the UK (or soon will be). I'm really interested in these!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried anything from Milani ever. I'm not sure I'll try these though. I don't think textured nail polish is my thing.
ReplyDeleteThese look gross to me... definitely not for me
ReplyDeleteLooks like spray-on truck bed liner! Haha! Definitely not my thing.
DeleteI JUST saw these tonight at Fred Meyer! Nice to see that Milani isn't far behind the other brands, and at a more reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteOh I waannnt them!
ReplyDeleteThese were at HEB here in Austin.
ReplyDeleteWow! The black looks like it might be a close dupe of Nails Inc. Leather Effect polish based on the swatches. Super cool!
ReplyDeleteI love these. I really hope they come to national chains soon!! I live in such a remote area, if Milani doesn't come to my CVS, I'm outta luck! Crossing my fingers! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like OPI's which have some glitter, and Zoya's which have some sparkle, but these don't appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteMeh, not into the whole textured nail craze. I prefer my nails smooth. I still do appreciate the post though as I love to ogle new beauty products whether I like them or not, hehehe.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I like these better than OPI's, even though I am usually a fan of glitter. Don't know if I'll pick them up, though. These look more like the textured polishes from Barry M, a British brand, whose polishes I first learned about on this post from The Nailasaurus: http://www.thenailasaurus.com/2013/01/barry-m-textured-nail-effects-swatches.html
ReplyDeleteI haven't decided if I like it or not, but I want to try it. For some reason, I think this will look better with an accent nail, rather than an entire mani in one color.
ReplyDeleteI don't see this on Cherry Culture yet, but it's likely to show up there at some point.
I'm hoping to find these at Kmart this weekend. The Fred Meyer nearest me no longer carries any Milani so I'm seriously jealous that the store near Angie does!
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about the texture trend. It's odd to me... I picked up one of these (the pink) to give it a fair shot, but I'm not expecting to be thrilled. :/
ReplyDeleteSo far the texture swatches I've seen mostly look like either frog-skin nails (ew) or like a really gritty glitter without topcoat. Blah.
Can u please tell me which Heb location to find limited edition Milani? I'm actually looking for the matte eyeshadiw sticks.
