Five Buck Friday

It's time again for more fun finds that will set you back a cool five bucks! As always, the products in this post are all Nouveau Cheap-approved (I personally own and love every single product I feature in this series) and the grand total for everything you see here is always just five bucks.

Keep reading for this week's picks...

Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail color in Tickled Pink (retail: $0.99 wherever Wet n Wild is sold). In honor of it being National Cotton Candy Day, I'd like to recommend one of my favorite pastel pink nail colors of all time. Tickled Pink is perfect at two coats (not sheer and streaky as is the case with some other pastel pink cremes you can buy at the drugstore) and it's that perfect shade of cotton-candy-pink. I love it so much that I used it for my Wet n Wild nail art design that was featured in the Beauty Ambassador Favorites display at Walgreens.

Jordana Sweet 'n Shiny Flavored Lip Gloss in Rainbow Sherbet (retail: $2.99 at Kmart and the Jordana website). This layered gloss (click here for pics from my past review) is so adorable I can hardly stand it. And the words "rainbow sherbet" are always a big win for me, especially when the gloss smells and tastes just as yummy as it sounds (this one does). Also, I love that the Sweet 'n Shiny glosses from Jordana are not sticky, yet they're big on shine (my favorite combo for a gloss). They feel so much better on the lips (and more hydrating) than other inexpensive glosses of this nature--they're such a pleasant little surprise. I think this gloss (or any of the shades in this range, actually) would also make a fun stocking stuffer for the gloss lovers in your life.

Yardley Naturals Honeysuckle Citrus Bar Soap (retail: $1 at Dollar Tree, $1.99 as most drugstores). If you can find this soap at your local Dollar Tree (I've seen it there recently) it will only set you back a buck, and boy is it worth it. This is my favorite of all Yardley soaps and it makes a wonderful soap for a guest bathroom soap dish. The scent it a delicious mix of tart grapefruit, orange and honey, so it's sweet and warm but with a little tart kick (click here for my original review from 2009). The best part is that the soaps in the Naturals line contain 100% pure vegetable oils and shea butter and they're phthalate, paraben and SLS free. Even their packaging is 100% biodegradable. Not bad for a buck, right?

That's it for this installment of Five Buck Friday. See you all again next Friday for more Five Buck fun!

  2. These posts just aggravate me because $5 in Australia barely gets you a can of coca-cola let alone awesome beauty products! I shall make the move one day.

    1. Omg, my boyfriend spent some time in Sydney recently and the two things he kept saying were:

      1) it's unbelievably gorgeous here

      2) it's unbelievably expensive here

I think he said he had to pay $7 for a small cup of coffee, so I totally believe you about a can of Coke. :(

Wish we could send all our beauty bargains to you in one big care package. :) xo

  3. I got so many Yardley soaps at Rite Aid when they were 2/$1 during Black Friday! I love them!

  4. I got so many Wild Shine nail polishes during Walgreens's Buy 1 get 1 Half Off for Wet N Wild to meet the $35 for my $10 off coupon! I didn't find Tickled Pink and I am not the type to wear pink polishes and had a bad experience with Hannah Pinktana from Fast Dry.I may have to try Jordana products since I seen them at Walgreens time to time.
