Spotted: e.l.f. Fall 2012 Python Collection (Target-Exclusive)

Of all the Target-Exclusive limited edition collections that e.l.f. has released over the years, THIS is my favorite, for sure. This new collection is now popping up at Target locations across the country, so be on the lookout for it. (PS: It seems that animal print--snake skin in particular--is going to be a hot trend this fall in the drugstores).

I won't waste any more of your time with words--let's just get right to the fabulous pics!

First up, some photos of the display from reader @TellMeDelmy:

More details about the Python Little Black Beauty Books:

Eppy writes:

Target has new e.l.f. Beauty Books labeled as Python Editions.  They
appear to be the same shades that are in the regular ones as I
compared the new Cool one to the Original Cool one I already had.
 The
warm one has been out of stock on http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ for a
while and the cool one is only available in the Beauty School section,
so if someone is looking for a copy of one of the Beauty Books that
they missed from the original grouping, these are basically the same
things.

Eppy provided a comparison of the LE Cool Python Book to the original Cool Little Black Beauty Book:

Next up, a collage of photos from reader Winni:

How cute are those python tweezers?!

Winni also shared a pic of the inside of the Warm Phython Little Black Beauty Book:

And last but not least, some close-up photos from reader Amelania:

Amelania writes:

(The polish is) a dark forest green base with lighter green flecks...No names on these unfortunately :(
The polishes are $2 for 9mL.

Amelania also included some close-ups of the Warm Python Little Black Beauty Book (same as the original Warm Little Black Beauty Book that reader Eppy said has been out of stock on the e.l.f. website for some time now):

Whew! That was a lot to cover in one post, right? I want to once again thank readers @TellMeDelmy, Eppy, Winni and Amelania for the fantastic pictures and detailed information. I can't express how much this helps and how much I appreciate it!

NC Readers: have you spotted the e.l.f. Fall 2012 collection at your local Target yet? The shades in the Warm Python Book are right up my alley so I think I might have to hunt that one down (especially since I never got the original warm book when it was available). How about you? Any must-haves here?

PS: One of you sent me a pic of these nail polishes several days ago, and I don't know if it was over email or twitter, but I looked and looked and could not find it to include it in this post. If that was you, I'm so sorry for not including your picture here today!

  2. I spotted the display & was SO excited! I immediately googled it only to find out that there was no info on it yet :( I spotted it about a week later and pretty much everything was gone LOL. I'm trying toc ut down on the makeup buying but hopefully itll still be there in a month or two when I can buy some more stuff :D

  4. Anyone who has purchased the original "beauty books" care to comment on the quality of the shadows?

  5. I love the snake skin theme! Wish the polish had the same effect on the nails!

  6. I purchased the polishes and returned them because they stunk to heaven and the brushes sucked.

    1. I peeked at these colors as well and put a little swatch on my list and it was the most foul smelling nail polish I had ever smelled. I had to throw out my list because it still smelled quite some time later. It was horrible. There is something wrong with this polish.

  7. Thanks for confirming that the shadows are the same as the the originals. I bought the cool version last winter, so I'm glad I didn't accidentally repurchase that one!

Also, a note on the polishes that I saw. It's difficult to tell on all of them, but the glitter that Winni purchased looks exactly like a previous E.L.F polish called "Golden Goddess". I only noticed this because I have the latter. Just something I wanted to mention, as it looks like there could be repromotes, and these don't have names!

  8. I saw this collection in a target in Raleigh. I didn't look for the warm palette but it was the same display as the first pictures and had everything there with no missing products as of a few days ago. :)

  9. I wound up picking up the warm palette & the two shades of polish you featured, I'm so excited to try these out this weekend!

  10. The polishes, while some really cool colors, STINK. Literally. They smell. Bad.

  11. I'm excited! I love ELF, especially their brushes! I've never used the eye shadows but that warm palette looks fabulous.

  12. Hmm, i have the cool pallet in the black beauty book but it looks NOTHING like this cool tone one...do they have different ones usually and this is just a repromote? Oh and i saw someone asked about the quality, if u put a primer on they r good to go. W elf it is a hit and miss in the same pallet sometimes they have chalky ones w no color and sometimes they have bright ones that are a perfect consistancy. Its hard to tell. But for beginners its awesome, my little sisters have some and they love it.

  14. Just saw this collection last week at my Target in N CA.

  15. I already have both the cool and warm books, thank you for showing that the new snake prints are the same colors!
I also wanted to mention that on elfs fb page, they have been giving little peaks about new fall products like some new baked Es plalettes, mineral shadows, new brushes..
They also Just recently released a new line of palettes ( eye brightening) which are great ;)

Elf is very exciting this season !!

  16. I picked up the warm edition of the beauty book and a brush. The brush is not as good, but it's functional and does the job.
The beauty book shadows are very nice. They are pigmented but I find to be just a little powdery. Overall though it's a nice little palette.

  17. Oh WOW! I love the look of this collection! I hope my target has it!!!

  18. Some of this stuff looks SO cute!

  19. For anyone curious, they had this collection at the Santa Rosa Target!

  20. The packaging on those e.l.f. products looks great! It took a lot of willpower for me to just walk away from that display this afternoon...

  21. None of this does anything for me. I have 3 ELF palettes and don't use any of them because they just aren't pigmented. The ELF nail polish is no good either...IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ah, heck! I was hoping they would be different shades too. :(

  23. I got a blackened teal nail polish. Most of the colors were blackened with sparkle. There was a blackened purple with blue sparks and a gray with multicolored , holo looking sparks. I limited myself to one since I already have too much nail polish. I may go back for the others now though lol Nice fall colors. I think the only creme were red shades.

I also got 2 eye shadow brushes. They are nice and feel a bit thicker than the regular $1 ones.

Was thinking about the eyeshadow but I already have enough high pigment shadows although the packaging was cute.

  24. For those who haven't owned any of the originals, these are cool but boo on elf to re-release the colours and not name the nail polish. And these being exclusive means less chance for it to show up online, so I can't even get any

  25. My target was completely wiped out, I was able to get 3 nail polishes from the line and that's it. By the time I checked out the rest of the polishes were sold out!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I picked up the dark purple polish and the Cool Beauty Book. From looking at swatches I think the dark purple polish is a re-release of Dark Glitter Purple. Unlike others I didn't notice a stronger smell than my other polishes. I haven't tried the eye shadows yet, but I love the packaging and the colors.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I bought the gold polish and the blackened teal polish. I swiped them both on my shopping bag and I can still smell them! What the heck? I'm going to try and cover it with topcoat and see if that kills the smell. If not I may have to return them which is a shame since they are gorgeous.

  28. I tried the gold glitter polish and, although it was very pretty, the polish fumes were too much for me.

  29. I picked up the gold glittery nail polish (it doesn't seem to have a real name). It was a good buy for $2. It catches the light really well- so sparkly!

  30. These first caught my eye as I was walking by because of the nail polish. I walked over to check them out and then saw the snake theme of them squealed and high tailed it away my skin just crawling lol. So these were not made for someone with severe phobia of snakes but I am glad that the shadows are copies of the original books because I have those so I don't feel like I am missing out at all lol.
