HOT CVS cosmetics coupon!

A big thanks to reader @kikayxoxo on Twitter for this one:

Some of you may have received a coupon this week from the CVS red scanner box for $3 off a $10 cosmetics purchase. Well the best news of all about this coupon is that, just like the coupon a few weeks ago, CVS is issuing this coupon DAILY. In other words, scan your card today and you'll get the coupon. Then scan your card tomorrow and you'll get the coupon AGAIN. You should be able to repeat this every day this week, through Saturday (6/30).

This will really come in handy if you're looking to buy some more products from the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale, or anything else that's also on sale this week. OR, if you're looking to take advantage of the CoverGirl rebate, this will be an additional $3 that you're be able to shave off your out-of-pocket price, and it will NOT affect the $20 you need to spend in order to get the $10 from CoverGirl (see details about this here).

Thanks so much, @kikayxoxo for the great tip!

PS: You don't have to use your first coupon in order to get the second, but I believe these coupons have an expiration date of four days after they're printed.

PPS: If you're planning on buying a $9.99 item and you hope to use your coupon, it SHOULD be accepted if it comes that close to $10, HOWEVER: if it doesn't, you can cancel the transaction after the cashier tells you that it's not going to work, and you can always run and grab a $0.99 Wet n Wild polish or something like that to get you to $10.

PPPS: And just to reiterate, if you have any manufacturer's coupons you're planning to use, those won't be deducted from the $10 threshold you need in order to use the CVS coupon. In other words: if you buy $10 worth of makeup and you have a $2 off manufacturer's coupon, you can use it and still use the CVS coupon for a grand total of $5 off your purchase. Just to be safe, hand the cashier the CVS coupon first to scan, THEN the manufacturer's coupon.

  1. I actually just went there yesterday and got that coupon! I got Milani's shadow eyez in Brown deluxe, a wet and wild loose glitter pot and a wet and wild pencil, (she said it only was 9.79 so I had to run and grab that pencil). Great deal! The Milani shadow eye pencil is the ISHH by the way! I am doing a review for it as we speak!

  4. Just wondering - Would it be possible to use more than one of these coupons in one transaction?

  5. Does anyone know if the CVS boxes are still printing $15 off Physician's Formula? Scanned yesterday and didn't get it :( But I did get the $3 off $10!

    1. I haven't heard of anyone getting it this week, but that makes sense since all PF skincare is BOGOFREE this week. They'd basically be giving away two products for free if they were still issuing that coupon....wouldn't that be nice? :)

  6. I used the $3 coupon when I bought 4 of the Physician's skincare, effectively paying only $7 for $80 dollars worth of product.

Also question, the You Tell Me Page, the last post showing is from June 6th. Has it moved or am I just seeing things wrong?

    2. There's a ”load more comments” link that should appear after the comment box on the you tell me page. Just click that and the rest of the comments should appear...although you might have to click it twice to see all of them.

I'm really overdue for creating a new page...hopefully I'll get to that this week. :)

  7. Awesome! I have some extrabucks to use. And I think we get our spring extrabucks on July 1st? I'm looking to get the Garnier BB cream. So far I have enough to get $8 off!

  8. Okay I have a super dumb question, where is the red scanner box located at your CVS stores? I always get coupons at the check out but I have never seen the box!

    1. It's in different places at each store. Ask a cashier to point it out for you if you can't locate it by roaming the aisles.

They're pretty big and hard to miss. There ARE a few locations that don't have red scanner boxes though, so definitely ask a cashier about it.

  9. I actually got the $15 off PF skin care from the red box today but can't seem to find a cvs close to my house that carries the products.

    1. Oh wow! That's awesome!! And just so you know, most CVs locations will substitute makeup if they don't carry the skincare. So definitely take your coupon back to the store and ask them if they'll let you use it toward a makeup item.

  11. HOLD THE PHONE. If I buy a $9.99 item, it'll let me use the coupon? Is this something new? I had no idea this occurred!

    1. Sometimes. I find that, if you're buying other non-makeup items in the same transaction, the coupon will go through. It really depends, and sometimes these coupons have worked for me when i'm just a penny away. Like I said in my post, give it a try, and if the cashier says it's not going to work, you can cancel the transaction before you pay.
