Reader Miss Crystal spotted the latest limited edition collection from Maybelline at her local Walgreens the other day and was nice enough to share:

Maybelline Limited Eedition Porcelains by Color Sensational
There are four LE quads in this collection and six LE lipsticks. Crystal said that the lipstick tubes have a "rubber-like feel to them and are somewhat transparent". She also said that they all "appeared to be cream finish and nude and rosy tones". Um, that is MY kind of lipstick collection! I don't know about all of you, but I cannot WAIT to try these new lipsticks and I already see at least two shades that make me want to run to my car right now and drive over to my Walgreens to see if I can locate these!
Maybelline lip colors are BOGO1/2OFF this week, and I really hope Walgreens includes these LE lip colors in their sale (sometimes they do, sometimes they don't).

Thanks so much, Miss Crystal, for the great scoop and pics! I really appreciate it!Maybelline fans: have you spotted this collection in your area yet? Thoughts?
I wonder if those are actually matte lipsticks?Just going by the name of the collection "porcelain" and the tubes themselves, and what I can see from the picture, the look like they might be mattes.
ReplyDeleteI was just out shopping last night, and did not see them. Are we sure those are LE quads? The one on the left looks very promising. I love my maybelline quads, have most of them.. they are so inexpensive and great wearable colors.
ReplyDeleteThe lipsticks are all VERY matte and VERRRRYYY pastel-like. I wasn't attracted to any of them sadly. :( :( :(
ReplyDeleteI looked at the whole collection today and picked up two of the lip colors. The lightest shade of pink is like SUPER light paste-y pink, then there is a light lilac cream (very beautiful & unique), then a nude-y pink (its gorgeous! and will probably be a big hit), a naturaly rosey- brown shade (seems to be a universally flattering shade or MLBB), and I forget about the final color. These lippies are very beautiful, though, & def worth looking for! I thought the quads looked really pretty too, but the one I was about to get looked really similar to their stylish smokes quad.
ReplyDeletethese are not matte lipsticks. they have a sheen/dewy look. I have a few swatches posted here: http://emtiny.blogspot.com/2012/05/maybelline-color-sensation-porcelain.html
ReplyDeletehope that helps!
p.s. I purchased two of the colors (nude nuances and afternoon tea) and I love them!
ooh, i like afternoon tea.
DeleteFrom your commenters description, I am going for the lilac and the pinky nude. Cant wait to check them out!
DeleteA friend purchased Pink Porcelain and Flawless Fuchsia the other day and sent me pics. She said her Walgreens did NOT include these in the BOGO1/2off sale. I still need to hunt these down and see them in person.
ReplyDeleteOk, thanks. That is disappointing. When I think porcelain I certainly don't think dewy.
ReplyDeleteBuy ALL the lipsticks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these yet; however, I have tried their lippies over and over and I'm ALWAYS disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI saw these at my Walgreens last night. The eyeshadows are very similar, to their permanent collections. The pinky quad has the purple shade that can be found in the Amethyst Smokes and the nude shades are exactly like those in Mocha Motion. Lipsticks were too light for my taste.
ReplyDeleteI just purchased the Afternoon Tea lipstick at lunch (870 - the far right in the picture) and it's a BEAUTIFUL mlbb shade that is nude but leans pink. Based on the picture in this post I thought it would be more brown/beige but it's definitely more pink. I love it though - very creamy and glides on easily.
ReplyDeleteMiss Fab--I know exactly what you mean! Maybelline has some tempting colors and one of the worst, weirdest formulas at the drugstore! I end up buying them anyway because I fall in love with colors (Cinnamon Toast! Loves it!), but they feel so weird and don't wear very well. Several of the ones I've bought don't "finish" right either--they grab onto the lines in my lips and make them look strangely waxy. I definitely think it's a crap shoot with these, but I see a brown there I might try if it looks unusual in the store...
ReplyDeleteI am personally a bit disappointed with this collection. Found it at my Walgreens in Denver, CO today. I picked up two lipsticks and two quads.
ReplyDeleteLipsticks: 855-Flawless Fuchsia; although it goes on very creamy and smooth the color is not wearable. Looks good on the model in the picture but it is almost on the neon side. 865-Nude Nuances; once again smooth but this color is interesting.... its like a matted down peach color. Looks okay on the lips but probably going to wear a gloss over it and hope it changes the look on me.
Eyeshadow: 10Q- Prima Pink; this is a purple based quad and light shimmer. 30Q-Dainty Peach; pretty quad with brown and light peach colors, no shimmer.
All together, had my hopes set high for this collections but was sadly disappointed and im usually not one to be disappointed easily.
ugh I've been to 2 walgreens and can't find the collection anywhere! i'm in new york, and no luck!
ReplyDeleteI finally found them. Drove to another town almost twenty miles away, hit every drugstore in town, and they were at the very last Walgreens. Yes, I am crazy. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI really like the peach quad, it is unlike any of the others Maybelline has and a very nice mostly matte palette. I think it will be great with the new tangerine 24hr lipcolor. I also picked up the pink one, which is much different than it appears in the photo. A really pretty bright pink and purple with a nice highlight and more neutral liner color, lots of good options there. The other two were a neutral palette that has mostly taupe shades - the highlight shade is gorgeous but the other three are very similar in color, and a grey palette with very light, medium and deep grey and a black with sparkle- it looks very blue in the photo but it's actually a pretty neutral grey.
I have to say I've gotten kind of addicted to the Maybelline quads (and even trios). I have almost all of them. With a good base and/or a sheer wash of color tattoo, they look great and last all day. I have zero problems with pigmentation, fall out, or chalkiness. Very nice color combinations- all very wearable, fantastic texture, so easy to work with, and so many to choose from. I wore "crown jewels" today and it made a beautiful warm toned purple eye. I especially like how "complete" they are... you can really just grab one and go without having to worry about adding extra colors to make them "work" unlike a lot of quads/trios. I really think these do not get anywhere near the amount of love they should, especially compared to WnW shadows. Don't get me wrong, I love my WnW.. but I almost always have to add to them to make them wearable, or deal with inconsistencies in texture or pigmentation. These are much more "user friendly" and very similar in price, yet you hardly ever hear about them.
.....wow i wasted so much gas for these guys!!! i am kind of disappointed at how pathetic i am when it comes to my makeup obsession...lol no sense of reality. i went to walgreens, 4 CVS, and 4 rite aids to get ones that hadnt been used (all the ones left were heavily swatched or stuck to the cap)!! these are definitely not matte at all, its a creme finish. i think u have to be either very pale or cool tone to pull these off. im nc30 with a bit of yellow in my skin tone and i got nude nuances, flawless fuchsia, and porcelain pink and they all wash me out. i can make use of them if i blend with other colors but dang...BIG let down. i really like the formula and finish of these lipsticks (no shimmer) but they really need to make some more wearable colors. they are gorgeous in the tube. flawless fuschia is like a blue tone barbie pink. porcelain pink is a blue tone light baby powdery pink that almost looks white on my lips. nude nuances is a pinky peach nude. so do i like them? yeah jus to have them lol, because theyre limited edition and i spent like a tank of gas for them but thats about it for me. for fairer ppl i think this collection would be fantastic. i did find that using revlons lip butter in fig jam as a base and then using these on top made the colors much more wearable...but then the colors are no longer unique like u see in the tube.
ReplyDeletePorcelain Pink was very, very light, even on my incredibly fair skin. Not for the faint of heart. I liked the texture, however, and have thought of playing around with this shade as a base of some sort. I'm thinking of picking up Nude Nuances.
ReplyDeleteI saw these at rite aid but they were on top of a high shelf where nobody could get to them. I haven't seen them elsewhere. Have they already gotten discontinued? :(
ReplyDeleteI was not happy with Porcelain Pink..reminds me of a lip color I played with as a child. I did pick Nude Nuances and it is pretty!!! Nohting really knocked my socks off.
ReplyDeletei bought the whole collection on ebay for 11.50 :) i cant wait to get them
ReplyDeleteAHH! Where can I get these?! I'm in Washington state and they are no where to be found...
