The Wednesday Question

If you had to pick ONE eyeshadow in your collection to wear every single day for the next month, what would it be?

Oh man, why do I ask you questions that even I cannot answer?? Hum...I think I would have to go with the taupe shade in the Wet n Wild Silent Treatment trio. I think that color works nicely for both day and night on me, and I can wear it lightly or really pack it on, depending on the occasion. Also, it works with lots of different liner shades (brown, taupe, black, purple, plum) so I could at least switch up my liner if I got bored.

  1. Urban Decay Smog! It's my all time favorite eyeshadow, and it's really lovely as a wash - perfect for day or night.

  2. Ugh, how difficult! I'd probably go with my MAC Patina.

  3. i dont know the name of it, but for christmas my husband got me this GORGEOUS makeup set from sephora with tons of eyeshadows (and all other sorts of makeup). there is a shimmery olive green that i tried and loved! put it on lightly for just a little shimmer (its not so obviously green) and pack it on a little darker for some oomph.

  4. I always gravitate between a skin colored eye shadow (natural look), a taupe, and a light purple for smoky eyes. I think if I had to wear 1 for a month, it would be the taupe. My fave is L'Oreal Infallible eye shadow in Taupe.

    1. Arent they awesome? Yeah, I think my one would probably be the Loreal Infallible bronze, taupe, or the chocolate brown which I wear as liner.

  5. This is difficult! I think I'd have to go with Mac Vex or Fyrinnae Damn Palladins though. Both are neutral yet pretty duochrome shades that are interesting enough to keep me satisfied in that way lol. Great question!

  6. Before I read your answer I thought the exact same thing! Taupe from Silent Treatment. It is my holy grail. I have Naked, Naked 2 and Book of Shadows, and I still come back to my Silent Treatment!!

  7. That is such a tough question for the middle of the week! LOL I will have to go with Nutty from Wet N Wild

    1. i 2nd nutty from wet n wild. Actually, it is about the only shadow i always reach for - not too tough a question for me:)

    2. 4th for Nutty! I always reach for it when I'm in a rush!

    3. 5th for Nutty! I can't help but reach for it, no matter what kind of look I'm doing!

  8. Great question. I would wear Wedge(MAC)! That way I can pop and add a little dimension to my crease! I love how soft yet "pop" of look it adds to the eye! P.s. it's what I'm wearing on my lid today! ;-) -Leslie

  9. I always go with a pretty natural eye look with a taupe or nude color scheme so if I had to only wear ONE color - I would go with Maybelline Eye Studio 24 hour tattoo in Tough as Taupe. I love that I can create an easy smokey eye with this one product!

  10. Loreal infallible eye shadow in amber rush.. i don't even need a brush. Just apply and blend with my ring finger and done!!

  11. I'm gonna have to go with Wet N Wild's 8 palette called Petal Pusher. LOVE the purple side of this palette, particularly the dark purple!

  12. Without a doubt, Mac's Satin Taupe. This was my ONLY eyeshadow for many years, and is the only shadow I've ever hit pan on. Perfect wash for the lid or to build a heavier coverage at night. Love love love.

  13. My makeup is pretty low key usually, so i would go with mac naked lunch. One of the only eye shadows I have ever hit pan on.

  14. I would have to say NYX taupe pearl singe eyeshadow, but I was also thinking of the taupe in the Wet N Wild Silent treatment trio

  15. Maybelline eye studio, Mad About Mauve, second from the left. A medium dusty pink with shimmer. Looks "my eyes but better" on me, and makes my green eyes pop.

  16. The top-right shade (goldeny-taupy-beige) in the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette. Only bummer regarding just one shadow is that I prefer to use shadow as my liner, but I'd deal with pencil liner to be able to use that lid color.

  17. I'm not a huge eyeshadow wearer but this week I've been wearing NARS Cordura and love the smokey eye effect, I get from it. The lightest shade is a nude color on me so I would pick that. I prefer nude, earthy tones.

  18. MAC naked lunch! I could even use this as a cheek highlighter too!

  19. I just got MAC Samoa Silk and have worn it every day this week. I could see wearing it for three more!

  20. Definitely the taupe L'Oreal Infallible e/s. Looks good with everything and lasts all day!

  21. NYX Beanie. I love it, and of course now I can't find it. It's hiding somewhere in my bathroom, but WHERE???

  22. Definitely a bronzy brown. There are many that I like, bit one that springs to mind right now is the elf studio single in Saddle. For a wash, or with more intensity, it really makes my blue eyes pop!

  23. Maybelline's Color Tattoo in "Tough as Taupe," which I bought because of a review here at Nouveau Cheap. I love it!

  24. jane Sungloss. I probably HAVE worn it for a month straight. I have a million eyeshadows and multiples of this one, and not only did I get down to the pan, I used a bobby pin to dig the shadow out from around the edge so I could get to it all.

e.l.f. books are so, so fun and have many awesome colors.

  25. Victimoflove from the old Aromaleigh Rocks! collection . . . very sparkly coral pink.

  26. For the past two weeks I've been wearing a look with a shadow combo of Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bad to the Bronze" and a champagne color in a Profusion palette. Add a little wing of liquid liner and I'm good to go! It's the first look I've worn for over three days in a row ;) If I had to choose between the two shadows though, I'd definitely pick the Color Tattoo. It's so versatile!

  27. Oh my goodness this is such a hard question...after much deliberation, I'd say that my one eyeshadow would be MAC's Satin Taupe. I know someone else also said that same shade but its such a gorgeous color! I'm so obsessed with it!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I completely agree with the taupe color from “Silent Treatment” I only wish that it was sold as a single color since I'm going on my second one and that’s the only color I really use from the pallet .

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mine would be The Balm's Shameless Shana. Makes the perfect brown smokey eye with a black eyeliner.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Taupe from WnW's Silent Treatment would probably be my pick too. One of my faves. Really loved it at first sight.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would have to pick NYC's single shadow called "Gossip Girl." It's a gorgeous golden nude color that packs enough punch to make my blue eyes bluer, but also neutral enough to go with every lip color I can think of.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would have to say Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Shadow in Champagne (8). It is shimmery and pretty. Goes with everything because it is a neutral color.

    ReplyDelete
  33. WnW Brulee. It's the only eyeshadow I wear on most days. I'm more of an eyeliner girl.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Probably mac woodwinked. It's the only eyeshadow I've hit pan on (how sad). For drugstore it would probably be the taupe from W&W's trio, too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I also vote for that magnificent taupe shade in WnW Silent Treatment Trio. You can have the other colors, they don't work for me. If WnW would JUST release a SINGLE in that Taupe shade, the world would be a better place, lol. My second choice would be that lucious Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze all over my lid, topped with Loreal's Studio Secrets shadow single in Brushed Suede, with a bit of a mid toned matte brown shade in the crease and a light shimmery nude on the brow bone. Goes well on this brown eyed girl with fair skin and highlighted hair.

    ReplyDelete
  36. MAC Satin Taupe for me too! I always wear it when I need to look professional in a hurry. It looks like 3 different colours on the lid.

  37. The gray brow-bone shade in the Comfort Zone palette by Wet n Wild.
