New Revlon Runway Pearl Nail Color (Chanel Pearl Drop dupe?)

There seems to be a new Revlon dupe of a Chanel polish hitting the drugstores, my fellow polish fanatics! If you're new to Revlon polish dupes, in the past few years Revlon has created dupes of Chanel Paradoxal (Revlon Perplex), Chanel Graphite (Revlon Carbonite), Chanel Black Pearl (Revlon Black with Envy) and Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air (Revlon Whimsical).

Well it looks like there's a new dupe hitting drugstores, and thanks to reader Ashley I've got all the details, including bottle shots and swatches!

Ashley found a special Revlon display containing one shade of polish called Runway Pearl at her local Walgreens recently (for those who don't know, when Revlon releases a special dupe, they often put it in a display all by itself with no other colors). Looking at Ashley's photos, this appears to be a dupe of the Chanel Spring 2011 shade Pearl Drop which retails for $23 (although I could be wrong--this is my best guess though):

Thanks SO much, Ashley, for the fantastic scoop and photos!

Nail fanatics: do you think this looks like a good dupe for Chanel Pearl Drop? Or do you think it's a dupe of something else? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I think this looks like a slightly less color shifty version of OPI's Think It's Pink Pastel

  3. Pearl Drop has gold shimmer not pink. To me it looks more similar to Chanel Intermezzo.

  4. Revlon looks slightly more beige

  5. I saw that nail polish in the store, but I didn't get it because it looked to sheer for my liking.

  6. Whether it's a Chanel dupe or not, it's a lovely color and I'd much sooner pay about $8 for Revlon than $23 ridiculous dollars for Chanel any day!!

  8. Didn't Revlon also dupe Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance with Facets of Fuchsia?

    1. Oh yes they did!!!! Fall 2011 collection they did. It was limited edition. Then when they released the line of all new colors ( Nov, or Dec I think) there was a permanent color called Scandalous. It IS Facets of Fuchsia, incase you weren't lucky to get it. Same exact color with a different name. This is one of my absolute fave polishes! So...another awesome dupe for REVLON!!

    2. Yep, you're both right! I just forgot to list it, but when it came out last year I did SEVERAL posts about it with swatchrs, pics of the display, etc.,I own both the real thing and the dupe and they're nearly identical. So glad they released it as a core shade with a different name. :)

  11. I remember Pearl Drop as having a really strong gold shimmer, imagine if you put China Glaze White Cap in a vitamix, so this one is pretty for certain, but doesn't look dupey.

  12. Now that I've seen the Revlon up close, I think they were definitely going for Chanel Attraction, which they call an oyster (I call it opal) shade.

    1. I don't think so. Attraction is a bit frosty and almost silvery. Runway Pearl has a completely different finish and shimmer.

    2. I don't think they hit the mark with it being a 100% dupe, and Pearl Drop is from last season. Normally they have the dupe from the current season. Attraction appears a metallic white, but it has the oyster undertone like this one. Only this is a more cream finish.

    3. I have Chanel Attraction and Revlon Runaway Pearl and this isn't a dupe for Attraction.

Runaway Pearl has a pink tone to it which Attraction doesn't have at all.

    4. I own both Runaway Pearl and Attraction and they aren't dupes. Runaway Pearl has a pink tone to it that Attraction doesn't have at all. Attraction is definetly more silvery.

  13. I had this in my hand at Walgreens this morning (only $4.99!) and put it back since I wanted to see a swatch first. I think I'm going to have to go back and pick this up! Very sheer, but oh so pretty! Regardless of which Chanel this is a dupe for, it's still $18 less! Much better option than $23 for the same (essentially) polish!

  14. I just bought it yesterday at Walgreen's because it was on sale. I got it from the Tres Chich display, but it looks like this shade is in the new Revlon Gucci Westman display as well. I just now tried it out and it seemed a little runny for a nail polish when I first started applying, the polish sank into my cuticle, so I had to do very, very thin layers. Then another thing is that this is so sheer, having to do thin layers, I had to do so many layers that I stopped counting, probably around 10. It's not very pigmented so I had to do all those layers to get the pigment and even then I still feel like I don't have enough pigment. It has a pinkish/redish shine, like a fish scale. If you want a sheer polish or to use this as an overcoat with another polish, this would be good.
