The Lipstick League – week of 3.5.12

Lipstick Question of the Week:

Which non beauty sites do you visit daily?

G's Answer: My guilty pleasure is gossip blogs, but I also love to visit news and political blogs (too many to list) and other budget-oriented blogs like Budget Bytes (food) and Dollar Store Crafts (crafting). I also LOVE LOVE LOVE sites like The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks and Apostrophe Abuse for my daily dose of grammar humor, and of course Passive-Aggressive Notes. I am also addicted to Gen Xtinct, Craftster, Film School Rejects, Etsy and lately I've been obsessed with Pinterest (who isn't though, right?). Eventually I will join...I just need to find the time!

Krasey Beauty – has the details on the makeup used on-set for The Hunger Games movie!

Lipglossiping – wants just two minutes of your time to help raise awareness on behalf of blogs who have lost subscribers in the recent Google Friend Connect removal for non-Blogger blogs.

Nouveau Cheap – The new eyeshadow palettes from Milani look so pretty, but it’s the new mascara that has me mesmerized!

Pink Sith – How is the Rouge Bunny Rouge Sheer Lipstick Succulence of Dew in Fluttering Sighs like Scarlett O’Hara? Well, you’ll just have to read the review to find out!

UK brand Barry M persuaded Prime Beauty to change her mind about loose eye shadow, maybe an ol’ beauty blogger can learn new tricks!

Vampy Varnish – loves some of the items in the new MAC Chenmancollection.

we heart this – an ode to BPAL’s Lupercalia, their collection of perfume oils based on love poems.

Beauty Junkies Unite – Blushes and bronzers that adjust colors based on your skin’s pH? Physicians Formula recently launched them—-the pH Matchmaker collection. Does this kind of innovation work, or not? Check out the review!

What non-beauty blogs do you visit daily?

  1. One of my favorite "wasting time" sites is Not Always Right. I've almost always had customer service jobs and the public can be irritating, and frustrating, as well as hilarious, and sweet. These are the stories of dealing with all the "weirdos" you can come across.

I also can waste days on Cracked, but I must warn you that it's generally male high school/college type humor and can be pretty politically incorrect. But I have a thing for useless info and trivia and you can definitely get your fill of that there(, even though I would like to reach through the screen and slap some of the writers/commenters silly for homophobia, sexism, racism, etc.)

  2. My personal daily web schedule is: hotmail, (which links to my local news), facebook, and youtube. Of course I get beauty stuff in my mail, facebook, and youtube sooooo.... but there is other stuff in there as well. Pretty much everywhere else I go is directed from one of those "dailies", unless I need something specific. I love cracked lol, but I have to be careful I can spend an hour there without realizing it.

  3. I really like this blog post. Thanks for sharing!

I'm also sorry to say that I really don't visit non-beauty related blogs daily all that much. But I do like (who does makeup AND fashion) and

  4. What is the lipstick league & what's the url for their website? I'm curious. Thanks! :)
