The Wednesday Question

This week's question is based solely on the fact that drugstore makeup is blowing UP right now. With all the new product releases and clearance sales, how could I not ask you this question today?

What is the best drugstore beauty product you've purchased in the last month?

This can be a brand new product that's just come out, a new-to-you product you discovered on clearance, or even a product you've repurchased a zillion times. Either way, out of everything you've purchased in the last month (between November 14th and today), what is your absolute favorite?

  1. In the last month I have to say the Wet N Wild Baked Palettes. They're very pigmented and such a great deal

  2. Wet n Wild Greed Palette - it's my favorite so I bought a backup! It's perfect for a smoky eye, I especially love the matte black.

  3. In the last month, I haven't really purchased makeup at the drugstore probably because I have totally bought up polish. In all manners of polish, liquid and press on strips. It would either be Essie Shine of the Times, or this new brand of polish strips that was at Walgreens on a bogo with two coupons, but since I haven't tried them yet, I'm going with the Essie.

  4. I'm not sure that this counts as a beauty product, but since you've reviewed lotion, I'm going to submit it anyway. My favorite would have to be Dr. Johnson's Foot Soap, which can be found everywhere from Wal Mart to local drugstores usually around $2.25. It leaves my feet incredibly soft and fresh, truly like baby skin--it's like getting new feet :D I bought some on a whim a couple of years ago and couldn't live without it now!

  5. I purchased Proclaim Natural 7 Oil to use on my daughter's hair and wound up borrowing it to use myself. It works great to moisturize my legs after shaving and is fantastic on my cuticles. I love products with multiple uses!

  6. That would be the Wet and Wild nail polish in "private viewing" (discovered on clearance at CVS). Goes on super smooth and looks VERY much like the $25 bottle of chanel nail polish. I love a good dupe!

  7. I have purchased three NYC liquid lipshines in the last month (under $2.50 at target!) and I'm thinking of going back for more. Why didn't I get these sooner?? They rock.

    Also loving WnW's matte palette.

  8. @ amanda elizabeth: that and the revlon nude slip eyeshadow are the last two items i've gotta track down at cvs!

to answer the question, i've just purchased a ton of drugstore makeup thanks to cvs but i'm going to have to go with one that wasn't a clearance-sale purchase, and that would be the jordana mascara. to date, lancome hypnose mascara is the only high-end makeup item i've ever purchased (and repurchased) because no other mascara i'd tried could compare. but this $3 jordana mascara gives hypnose a run for the money (literally -- i could buy 7 or 8 tubes of jordana for the price of one hypnose). honorable mention would have to be the maybelline dream mousse blushes and the "10" brand nail polish in moonlit.

my milani cyber monday order just arrived today, so i'll have to try those out and see if any makes it to the top list.

  9. hmmm well two things I really love lately is any Colorburst product from Revlon.

I really only discovered this Revlon line three months ago and I already own two lipsticks, 3 glosses, and 7 lip butters!

haha, also i rediscovered an old favorite. It is Rimmel's 25hr lasting finish foundation. This was after a recent purchase, exchange, return loop for a new foundation search.

  10. I would have to say of course the Essie Shine of the Times nail polish! But since I can't just name one thing I will add the Revlon foundation primer and the Maybelline mineral power foundation...both of which I got on clearnace at CVS and should go back for back ups! My oily skin has been under but better control with me using that primer under my Mary Kay foundation and with setting it with the mineral power!

  12. I am going to go with the 3 Revlon Lipsticks I bought on clearance at Walgreens. Petal, Raspberry, and
    Fushia.

  13. Nuance By Selma Hayek's eyeliner. It glides on like a dream, nice and dark, and stays put for a long time. The mascara from the same line is nice as well.

  14. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows. They live up to the hype... amazing!

  15. I'm in LOVE with the Jordana Easyshine which I learned about here on your site!

  16. My winner is e.l.f. essentials line eye primer. Got it on a whim at Kmart for $1. It's AMAZING! It's great at any price, so the $1 price tag just makes it that much sweeter. A very close 2nd place goes to Jordana mascara (might be a tie, in fact - & I learned about that product right here!) It's the best I've tried so far, and the price CANNOT be beat!

  17. I'm totally loving the three revlon colorburst lipsticks i got recently during the CVS clearance: pink sugar, carnation, and icy nude! Sooo getting backups!

  18. revlon fabulous fig matte lipstick. i don't usually wear anything, other than carmex, on my lips but seriously. fabulous fig complements my skin/look so well that even my brother commented on it. i lovelovelove it.

  21. Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone! I managed to lay my hands on it when I was traveling in the US last month, after visiting 3 Walgreens. I'm still amazed by how far 5 bucks can stretch in this case! (I also love my L'Oreal HIP duo in Electrified, but it costs more for two shades, so my pick has to be Comfort Zone)

  22. Drugstore flakies are making my winter so far. Essie Shine of the Times and Sally Hansen Glass Slipper are AWESOME!
