A closer look at the Travel Essentials Amazing Hair From Start To Finish set:

Redken Travel Essentials Set

This set contains some of Redken's most popular products. I love the little metallic quilted bag that comes with this set, which can double as a makeup bag or even a cell phone or camera bag when you're done with the products.

Redken Color Extend Shampoo (1.7 oz), Redken Color Extend Conditioner (1 oz), Redken Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray (2.1 oz) and Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist (2.1 oz)

Both the shampoo and conditioner were enough for about four applications (remember, I have long hair), which was not enough for me to be able to give you a proper review. However, I can tell you that my hair  felt very soft and moisturized after using these products, and I would consider a full-size purchase for both. I love the fragrance of Redken products in general and these didn't disappoint. They both have that signature clean scent that I adore.

I'm not a huge hairspray person, but sometimes I like to tame my side-swept bangs, especially if I'm going to be outdoors and in wind. I have been using Forceful 23 on my bangs quite a bit over the past few weeks and I love that even though it's a super-strength hairspray, it doesn't make my hair look visibly crunchy and there's no white residue or flakes. This stuff delivers some serious hold for me, but it doesn't look like serious hold when it's in my hair.

I've used shine-enhancers in the past and I think the trick is knowing exactly when to stop. The danger for me and my oily hair is that I usually DON'T stop, and I keep spraying, and spraying, until my hair is one big greaseball. The thing I like about Shine Flash 02 is that this travel-size can delivers a very fine mist. You can easily control the amount of product dispensed onto your hair, which is nice if your hair is thin in texture and oily (like mine). Just a few quick bursts and this product adds some nice shine to my hair.

I hope this overview and mini-review gives you a better idea of what you'll find from Redken this holiday season. If you've had your eye on some Redken products this year, picking up a gift set before you commit to a full-size purchase is a great option.
