What polish did Kate wear yesterday?

If you watched the royal wedding yesterday, you might have asked yourself "What polish is Kate wearing?" (I always ask that question no matter what the occassion). Well, I have the answer, and it's something you can find right at your very own CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart or Target store.

(from Happi.com)

The regal gown, the flawless hair, the Cartier tiara – the newly crowned Duchess of Cambridge, HRH Princess Catherine looked nothing short of perfection as she wed Prince William today…right down to her fingertips. According to her manicurist, Marina Sandoval of the London based Jo Hansford Salon, Kate opted for a classically chic, pinky nude manicure with the help of Essie's Allure – a timeless sheer pink that creates the perfect manicure look for any bride, princess or not.

"I am so thrilled that Kate chose to wear Allure on her big day,” said Essie Weingarten, founder and president of Essie Cosmetics. “The world watched as William slipped that gorgeous gold band on Kate’s fingers and her manicure was the perfect complement. Nothing is more classic or elegant than a perfectly flawless pale pink manicure, it truly suited her beautifully.”

(retail: $8 at CVS)

I don't know why I find this fascinating but, I do, so I just thought I'd share! Do you already own Essie Allure? Any bets on how long it takes for this shade to sell out?

  2. I really had no feelings or interest toward their wedding and marriage more than general good wishes I have for any strangers, but I did hear she applied her own makeup. I thought that as pretty cool.

  3. Who ever wrote that article at Happi was wrong about her title. She is NOT HRH Princess Catherine. She is Catherine, Dutchess of of Cambridge or if introduced then she is introduced as Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge. She will not be Princess Catherine until Charles becomes King and William becomes the Crowned Prine.

  4. Could OPI's Bubble Bath be a close dupe for this color? I picked it up today from Ulta (Buy 2 polishes, Get 1 Free sale still going on) for my manicure, and I really like it. Kate looked stunning yesterday! I wish I had gotten up early enough to go to one of the watch parties. :(

  5. I agree. They got confused because Diana became a Princess right away, but Charles is in direct line for the title of King. It's interesting how other family members will be pushed further back once they have children.

  6. I heard she did her own makeup. The post about her title are interesting.

Now that Essie is easy to find it should sell fast. Is it true it was mixed with another brand/color polish?

  7. Oh yeah a day or so before the wedding Someone on China Glaze Twitter Feed ask what Kate would be wearing on her nails. Someone else said it would be nude or pale pink because she would get critized if she wore anything else.
