Lovely Mother's Day gift idea from Crabtree & Evelyn

If you're in need of some gift ideas for the mom in your life (remember: Mother's Day in next Sunday, May 8th), I've got a wonderful one for you!

I was recently sent some products for review from Crabtree & Evelyn's Honey, Coriander & Citron collection, and even though the retail price of these products is a bit out of the price range of most things Nouveau Cheap, I cannot think of a better time to splurge than for Mother's Day.

Crabtree & Evelyn
Citron, Honey & Coriander
Skin Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel
(retail: $20, 8.5 oz)
Skin Quenching Body Lotion
(retail: $22, 8.5 oz)

Before I get into this review, I want let you know that Ulta currently has the entire Citron, Honey & Coriander collection on sale, and right now you can purchase the shower gel for $15 and the body lotion for $16.50 (a 25% savings off the regular retail price). Also, you'll get free shipping with any order over $25 by using code 50830 at checkout.

I should tell you right up front that I'm a longtime fan of Crabtree & Evelyn. I adore their vintage-inspired packaging and lovely, feminine fragrances. I'm delighted to tell you that these Citron, Honey & Coriander products didn't let me down--in fact they're my new favorites. (Note: I also reviewed the beautiful bar soap in this collection for weheartthis--you can see my review of that in the comments on this post).

I love lemon fragrances to begin with, but I find that the honey and coriander notes help give this crisp fragrance more dimension. This scent is tart, yet lush and green at the same time, and there's a tiny bit of a peppery "zip" to it that I absolutely love. If the mom in your life is a gardener, I almost guarantee that she'll love this scent.

Both the body lotion and shower gel are sulfate and paraben-free:

I'm happy to report that the Skin Cleansing Bath & Shower Gel has a nice, rich lather, despite the absence of sulfates. I find I need about a quarter-size amount on my bath pouf to create enough suds, and I adore the way this product makes me come alive in the shower. The crispness and the greeness of this scent really help awaken my senses in the morning, without being over-the-top.

I find the Quenching Body Lotion to be rich and velvety in texture, and I love keeping this bottle near my sink to use on my hands, arms and elbows throughout the day. I know I already mentioned this, but the design on this bottle is just so aesthetically pleasing to me--I LOVE looking at it in my kitchen.

I hope this review helps those of you in need of some nice Mother's Day gifts. Heck, I'd consider giving these products to anyone who is in need of some pampering.

Do you own any products from Crabtree & Evelyn? What are some of your favorites?

  1. MY favourite has to be the citron, honey and corriander hand therapy. My friend gave it to be as a present and when I first saw the word 'corriander' I was skeptical. As it turned out, it is the nicest smelling Crabtree and Evelyn product. (IMO)

  2. Oh how I love Crabtree & Evelyn! It's been a while since I've used anything from them, but now that I've read your post I'm going to place an order! My favorite is the Rosewater Hand Therapy Cream. I'm definitely going to try the new Citron too! Thanks!

  3. G, what I love about your blog is you always talk about all these wonderful brands that I've never even heard of.

This product sounds really good and I'm curious of what it smells like in real life.

  4. that's expensive!
i usually buy crabtree products at premium outlet stores. It is 12bucks for 500ml.
