Let's talk foundation today, shall we? I can't wait to read your answers to this one:
What one drugstore foundation are you currently reaching for above all others?
If you're anything like me, you have a stable of foundations to choose from, depending on the current state of your skin, the weather conditions, etc. My skin's been a tiny bit dry these days, so I've been reaching for my CoverGirl Natureluxe Silk Foundation a bit more lately (which I reviewed here). How about you? With this crazy hot-cold-hot-cold weather that seems to be happening all over the nation right now, I'd love to hear what's currently working for YOU!
Revlon Colorstay - for its coverage and keeping my oily face 'dry' most of the day.
ReplyDeletePhysician's Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer. It's got great coverage for a TM, and it's got SPF 50, which is great!
ReplyDeleteStill Cover Girl Simply Ageless. I'm on my 2nd yer using it; longest I've ever used a foundation. It's really helped my dry skin.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation because it was a great size for travel and now I want to ditch all the rest of my foundations. It gives great coverage without feeling icky.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the last week or so i've just been spritzing my face with fix + and using maybelline fit me powder. :)
ReplyDelete-NerdyMK
my cover girl nature luxe. i can't believe how long it lasts on my face! i can look in the mirror at the end of the day and it STILL looks good, just one or two powderings needed throughout the day (i have oily skin)
ReplyDeleteCovergirl Natureluxe! I pretty much use this every day. It's my go-to everyday foundation. I switch it up of course with others I like of course but this one usually wins :) Love this stuff <3
ReplyDeleteL'oreal True Match
ReplyDeleteRevlon Colorstay. It's my HG! I tried Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse, but it made my face feel so sticky.
ReplyDeleteIt's a toss up between Revlon Colorstay and Covergirl Natureluxe. Since I have dry skin, I'm always on the look out for a foundation that will give me a dewy, glowy look. Those two seem to do it for me.
ReplyDeleteI always seem to go back to Maybellline Dream Smooth Mousse, I'll have to try CoverGirl Natureluxe.
ReplyDeleteNatureLuxe!! I purchased it last month after seeing your review and I love it!!!! =D
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Fit!! =D
ReplyDeleteIt may sound crazy, but for the last month or month and a half I have been LOVING Lacura foundation (found at Aldi) in Transparent. It's a good color match, it doesn't break me out, it helps control oil, it has really good coverage, and it's only like $3.49!!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the Maybelline Fit Me... it doesn't match my skintone as well as my Korres, but it does pretty good!
ReplyDeleteAlso, did you ever figure out what shade you were in the CoverGirl? I bought 310, but my skin needs a foundation with a bit more slip. Let me know if I can send mine to a new home with you!
Maybelline dream smooth mousse with my Sigma F80 brush...love!!
ReplyDeleteRevlon Colorstay is usually my hg, but lately I have been wearing Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Powder with SPF 50 over the NYX HD Primer
ReplyDeletemy favorite foundation of all time is zuzu luxe oil free, but that's whole foods, not drugstore. best drugstore for my is NATURELUXE! i have oily acne skin and it works very well. hated colorstay.
ReplyDeleteRimmel Lasting Finish! :)
ReplyDeleteL'oreal True Match because it's always on sale and it works really well my bobbi brown corrector and conceal.......
ReplyDeleteNeutrogena Healthy Skin with physician's Formula Mineral wear pressed powder.
ReplyDeleteRimmel Lasting Finish or Revlon Colorstaty, but i also like Rimmel Clean Finish.
ReplyDeleteLoreal true match!
ReplyDeleteMaybelline FitMe and Revlon Colorstay and Rimmel Lasting finish!!! Though Revlon Colorstay is most defo a HG foundation, amazing coverage!
ReplyDeleteMy go-to foundation isn't a drugstore one. However, I do use Physician's Formula loose mineral foundation and like it a lot because it performs so nicely. I got a great color match and it buffs on easily.
ReplyDeleteRimmel match with loreal true match to lighten it up. Not really great..but gonna use till finished.
ReplyDeleteI really like Cover Girl TruBlend, I find I use it all the time, feels great on my skin, even though Revlon Colorstay lasts longer. I'd love to try the Physician's Formula spf55 healthy wear powder but it's not sold here in Canada :(
ReplyDeleteMaybellline Dream Smooth Mousse. I always find myself going back to this one! I love it, but it doens tend to make my face feel a bit greasy by the end of the day. I'm on the lookout for something that will help with that, any suggestions??
ReplyDeleteAlmay Smartshade, actually! I didn't love it at first, but it's easy, and it doesn't break me out. o.O
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Dream Smooth Mousse w. Dual Fiber brush! I actually switch back to a non- drugstore brand recently.
ReplyDeleteLately, I'm hooked on my Maybelline Mineral Power liquid. It makes me look amazing and if I need extra coverage in spots, I use the Mineral Power pressed powder or MAC Studio Fix powder (bought years ago and recently found in a bag I'd stored, LOL). Unfortunately, I think they're discontinuing my shade (Fit Me sucked for me) but I have many backups and will buy all of them if they show up at Big Lots or DT. It's HG for me.
ReplyDeleteAlmay Smart Shade!!! I totally agree with the above commenter- I didn't like it at first, but now that it's getting warmer outside, I love it! Perfect coverage, not heavy or sticky, and lasts all day without a primer.
ReplyDeleteRevlon PhotoReady, it has a really nice finish and gives decent coverage
ReplyDeleteCoverGril Natureluxe is nice, but it's been breaking me out (which hasn't happened in a long time! i really wonder what is setting my skin off- it's usually pretty chill.) And the shades are a bit dark/pink.
ReplyDeleteSo I switched to CG Clean makeup (oil controlling) and i really like it. it's $6 and it works really well. the only problem is that the foundation doesn't like to come out of the screwtop jar and dipping things in gets messy.
Also finishing up Stila One Step foundation (lovely but it's rather drying) and Stila illuminating moisturizer (it's starting to get warm and humid here so I won't need this much longer).
I think by the time I work through those, it'll be time to get some mineral foundation and Colorstay Active for the summer!

ReplyDeleteNatureluxe! I'm usually a department store foundation girl, but I bought this because I got really pale this winter and need something lighter than my usual. It works surprisingly well on my oily skin with a little primer underneath, and the lightest shade matches my current skin color so exactly that people keep complimenting me on it!
ReplyDeleteI like revlon colorstay, the dry formula. I find that it is the only foundation that doesn't enunciate my dry skin/ fine lines on my forehead. I have tried maybelline age defying, maybelline eraser, maybelline smooth mousse, and maybelline 24 hour foundation. When I started looking for foundation, maybelline was having constant sales :). Too ba none of them worked for me. I will try natureluxe though when they have a good sale :).
ReplyDeleteLoreal Truematch. I found it at my local Dollar General on clearance in my shade for $3. That's an $8 savings:) So I stockpiled:D It is so flawless.
ReplyDeleteDrugstore - Revlon Colorstay for oily/combination skin. In love with it. Less than minimal transfer and I'm not shiny at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI tend to use the same brand/type of foundation until they stop making it...I am been using the same one for a while now...I use Loreal Infallible. (not that I said it...watch them stop making it) :O(
ReplyDeleteStill using Revlon Colorstay for Normal/Dry skin religiously. And LOVING the Maybelline Fit Me powder on top!
