We Heart This

For those of you who are new to this blog, I wanted to take a moment to share with you that, in addition to what I do here, I am also a review team member and contributor to the fabulous website wehearthis.com.  If you haven't visited weheartthis, I urge you to--it is an absolutely wonderful community of women, led by two fabulous ladies, Stef and Tyna, who bring their readers the most interesting, fun and unique content on a daily basis. Whether you're into beauty products, food, green living, pop culture, fashion or anything in between, wehearthis has got you covered.

And today they've posted a piece I wrote for them about turning 40 (which I just did back in December). I wrote that piece from the heart, and I would LOVE if you'd stop by to read it. Trust me, even if you're a long way from 40, it's something you might want to read and remember for when that day comes. And thank you!

  3. I will read anything you write, but I especially love the very honest and sincere posts you write about yourself. I'm turning 25 next month (I know, I'm a baby) but I like to keep the future in mind! Strange as it may sound- I'm not trying to fake it- I look forward to becoming more self-accepting and even more confident as I age. I'm even excited about crows' feet and wrinkles, though I am very chubby-cheeked and haven't got any yet. (Already got some greys to kick-start the process.)

Thanks for an awesome article for any age!

  5. So late too this post, but I had to comment. Great minds think alike, I too saved this article( hard copy printed) when I first read it years ago. I found it in my papers when I was 39. I liked it even more.

I am now 41 and I am fine with it. I am actually glad to have been part of the post typewrite, pre internet generation. We are the only ones who will ever know both worlds. We can zip around the internet with ease but we also were lucky enough to be the last ones for whom having to stay indoors was THE WORST punishment imaginable.
Thank you for this article and the site. I too often feel left out on beauty blogs with brands I'll never afford or as the case with some($120 for shampoo!)even if I could cannot conceive paying that much for... Maybe it was being raised in big part by my depression era Nana. Whatever it is, I'm good with massmarket. Happy to have extra time and funds to play around with beauty at all...
