I think you're either a hand soap person or you're not. What I mean is, either you loooove hand soaps and you're always looking for fun new scents and formulations to try, or you're the type of person who will buy any ol' hand soap on sale and not really care how it smells. As long as it cleans your hands, you're happy.
I think I might have found a hand soap recently that can straddle both worlds. Whether you're obsessed with hand soaps, or you just like products that are plain and simple and do the job, you might want to check this one out. I purchased this lovely blue bottle the last time I was at Target and I'd like to introduce you to my new favorite soap for the kitchen sink:
Softsoap Deep Cleansing Sea Mineral Hand Soap
(retail: around $3, 8.5 oz)
I am a sucker for anything that contains sea salt, whether it be food, body products, whatever. And the little salt crystals on the label, combined with the pretty blue color of this soap (it's even prettier and more vivid in person) drew me in immediately. Also, it's hard to see in my photos but there are little bits of sea salt suspended in this soap, which make the overall look of this product even prettier.
I thought this would be a great soap to use at my kitchen sink, because I like the idea of using sea salt to really scrub my hands and get food residue off them. And I was RIGHT! This stuff is fabulous for the kitchen! The fragrance is aquatic, but in case you get scared off by aquatic scents, this one is kind of unique. To my nose, it has a true, ocean-y feel to it, and I can even detect a slight salty note. But all the while, it manages to stay clean, light and fresh, and it's not overpowering to me. I like how it doesn't seem to clash with the normal aromas of the kitchen (ie: food).
I am absolutely addicted to this hand soap, and I wish it was available in those large, bulk refill bottles because I seriously want to keep using it in my kitchen for a good long while. I really hope Softsoap decides to offer this soap in bulk because, just like Martha Stewart always says, things look prettier when you put them plain, decorative bottles! The color of this soap just screams: "Put me in a pretty bottle!". If you want to see how you can really jazz up a hand or dish soap, look at these lovely, inexpensive ideas.
I think the addition of sea salt lends a great exfoliating feature to this soap, which is so handy (pardon the pun) in the kitchen when you're trying to get food, etc. off your hands QUICKLY. It cleans so well, and it leaves my hands nice and soft and fresh-smelling to boot.
Definitely an A+ from me, and I think it even earns my ultimate seal of approval as my Bargain of the Day:
To me, Softsoap Deep Cleansing Sea Mineral Hand Soap performs just as well as hand soaps triple its price, and the presentation, formula and fragrance are right up there with the best of them. You can't beat it for around $3 a bottle (or less if you catch it on sale and/or have coupons)!
Have you tried this new Sea Mineral hand soap already? Do you think it's something you'd like to see sitting at your kitchen sink? I'd love to hear from you!
My wife told me this smells better than my cologne and that I should shower with it!!! It really does smell like an old Nautica cologne I used to use in when I was a teen.
