At a time when most of us are looking for good ingredients in our beauty products, it's wonderful to come across a lipstick that contains lots of good-for-the-skin ingredients and can actually deliver on color and quality. Enter Raw Color Primal Pigments Pure Botanical Lipstick, by Raw Natural Beauty.
I was lucky enough to receive two lipsticks for review recently from Raw Natural Beauty. While this company is primarily known for its line of mineral makeup (Raw Minerals), Raw Natural Beauty also makes Raw Color Primal Pigments Pure Botanical Lipsticks, which are currently available in two very wearable, versatile shades.
First, let's start with the packaging. It's gorgeous!
With so many lipsticks that come in plastic tubes, it's nice to actually have one that comes in a substantial, metal tube for a change.
Primal Pigments Lipsticks come in two shades (no torturous bouts of indecision over which shade to order).
Top: "Native". Bottom: "Tickled Pink"
"Native"
"Tickled Pink"
The texture of these lipsticks is very smooth and creamy. They apply very nicely and pigmentation is fantastic. The finish is a glossy satin and the flavor and fragrance are vanilla-based and remind me very much of MAC lipsticks, which of course I love.
I think that either shade, "Native" or "Tickled Pink" would work with most skintones, and they're both great everyday shades that are safe for work and wonderful for young and mature alike. I'm thinking about picking some up for my mom for the holidays, because I know she'd wear these shades. Also, the formula is nice and moisturizing as well.
I am delighted to offer my readers a promo code, DISCOVERY50, which is good for 50% off and free shipping, which you can apply toward the purchase of either (or both) of these lipsticks. The retail price of a Primal Pigments Lipsticks is $20, so if you use the code, you can get them for $10 each. Please note, this promo code is good through December 31st, 2009.
Have you tried any Raw Natural Beauty products? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Love love love the packaging. Sad how most of our money goes toward paying for the packaging of goods rather than the product itself right? But still, $10 is a good deal. I'm seriously considering a few of these...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the packaging! It looks so durable. And that's true about no torturous bouts of indecision! Lol. I think the colors will suit most skintones.
ReplyDeleteHey Shela! Oh, if I had a dollar for every product I've purchased based solely on cute packaging! lol. So it's a good thing that these lipsticks are wonderful inside *and* out. :) xo PS: I loved your FOTD post! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteFifi! I am so glad I am not alone when it comes to trying to decide on shades of makeup to buy. I swear I have lost sleep over making those types of decisions! lol! :) And you're totally right--I think these shades would work on just about every skintone. :)
Thanks for share good post. Useful information, keep it up. I like your post.
ReplyDeleteHmm... they look pretty but I think they might be a bit too warm for me. At least Native. Tickled Pink might work. Thanks for the review. Love the packaging and wish they had more colors (some sheer ones especially!).
ReplyDeleteR, do they ship internationally? I couldnn't find info on their site
ReplyDeletethis code is only for the lipsticks then?
ReplyDeleteBeauty: Thank you so much!! :)
ReplyDeleteJeweled Thumb: You know, you're right--they are definitely on the warm side, but I've got to say that they photograph warmer than they actually are. In reality, I'd say they're warm, borderline neutral. Glad you like the packaging--I'm sort of obsessed with it. :)
Halifax: I just heard back from the rep and I'm afraid that at this time they do not ship internationally. They do sell Raw Beauty products at QVC in Germany and Australia but I know that doesn't help you in Canada. lol. Sorry!
sppifftiff: Good news! My contact just confirmed that the code is good on all Raw Beauty products. Happy shopping! :)
I ordered the RAW mineral makeup and received two colors of powder, the veil, and a set of brushes.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the brushes.
The makeup performs about the same as the L'Oreal Bare Minerals I've worn for a long time. Why would I pay the immense difference in price?
Hi Denise! I'm so sorry the foundation wasn't better than the L'Oreal for you, but at least you got some great brushes out of the purchase, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI do love their brushes and was really worried about the day when they are worn out.
ReplyDeleteThen I started reading your blog and learned about ecotools. I was needing to replace an expensive Merle Norman powder brush that was part of a Christmas present kit.
Wow. Ecotools are AMAZING! That $8 brush is better than the one from Merle Norman (even before it was worn out.) My makeup brushes need to be soft soft soft and most of them don't come up to snuff.
Not everyone has the stipple type brush (the flat one that looks like a stencil brush) so I was ecstatic to see it. That will be the next one that needs replacing.
The RAW brushes were free, but that was a special that won't happen again, so finding the ecotools was great!
Your blog is a treasure. It's all about value - getting the most quality and performance for the least money. What could be better?
Denise, you totally made my day! I am absolutely thrilled that you took my advice and that the EcoTools brushes worked out for you! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteThanks a million for the kind words about my blog--I really can't tell you how much that means to me. Sometimes I wonder if anyone is actually taking my advice on a product I love, so it's wonderful to get feedback like yours. xo
