Well I spent serious cash the other day at CVS and here's what I got:
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

So as you you know, this shade is one of the colors current on 75% off clearance at CVS. So that brought my total down to $2.07. But then I remembered the great tip that reader Janki left on the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Discussion Page, about how there's a $2 off Revlon coupon currently printing out at the red scanner box. Janki mentioned in her comment that if you don't get this coupon the first time you scan your Extra Care card, to scan your card again (for a second round of coupons) and you should get it on the second time around. Sure enough, when I scanned my card a second time, out shot that $2 off coupon.
So with the 75% off discount and the $2 off coupon, I only paid seven pennies for this lip color. Woot!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I just went this morning to buy a lip butter and as I was walking in I found 11 cents in the parking lot. It just so happened that after the coupon was applied 11 cents was the amount of tax I owed so it was basically free for me!

DeleteThanks for the shout-out!! Rachael is right, you can get the coupon daily. I went on Wed to buy the lipbutter and did the 3X coupon scan and got the Revlon and Maybelline coupon. Sadly the shade I bought wasn't for me, so I went back the next day to return it. I did the card/coupon scan again and got the Revlon coupon again! I tried again for the Maybelline one but the scanner basically said I was all done for the day, try again tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAlso, there is a $2/off any two Maybelline lip product coupon that I found in my Lucky magazine (so it may be out elsewhere)... I figured with the CVS coupon and sale, you could get the lip stains for about $2 each. But they aren't that fabu, IMO.
I had a another return to make that day so I ended up with $11 in credit... so I was a happy camper! I love the clearance days... it's when I buy all my stash for the season.
I love Cherry Tart! I have a stupid question as I haven't been to a CVS in a while - What is the red box?
ReplyDeleteIf you have an Extra Bucks Card, you can scan your card at the Red Kiosk and it will spit out random coupons. If you use it often, they usually tailor it to your likes by knowing what you buy. If you don't have one, ask for one at the counter, they are free!
DeleteToo bad I bought Gumdrop and Cherry Tart for the regular price! But I got that coupon earlier today and picked up a Super Lustrous lipstick in Coralberry for all of 12¢. It's a gorgeous shade, too.
ReplyDeleteCherry Tart rang up at $1.99 for me, and the red box handed out the Revlon coupon at "third time's a charm" ;-) So I also picked up a $2.00 backup to my beloved Revlon Lip Gloss in "Pink Pop". Basically it was a BOGOfree shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteThird time for me as well. That coupled w/ a manufacturers coupon allowed me to get two Revlon mascaras for just over a dollar! Too bad Tutti Frutti wasn't inculded in this markdown party, my fav last summer until it broke now it's in a pot, i'd like to replace it "on the cheap" so I can use it from the tube. Pink Pop IS great, but by me they were all wiped out of glosses.

ReplyDeleteJust down the street from cvs right now...hope there's a good selection. Cherry Tart is one of the only few I haven't gotten, if I recall that does contain fine shimmer or sparkle...? I have a couple like that, Peach Parfait, Gumdrop and Cotton Candy too (I think) all have that finish and I can't say I care for it when it fades. Thanks for sharing G!
ReplyDeleteJust came back from CVS after reading this. Had 5 minutes before they closed to check out the deals. Sadly my CVS did not have anything 75% off yet (I'm in Cali). I did get the Revlon $2 coupon from the magic machine. Tomorrow I will stalk more CVS and get more coupons. Lip Butters are my favorite. Thanks for the tip!

DeleteI got Cherry Tart, too and also Just Bitten in Flame and Crave. Someone had left one of the $2 coupons by the scanner box and I printed out one myself so I got two! woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThe coupons that print at the coupon machine are linked to your card. So you can't use the one you found. It will usually beep and say not for card.
DeleteAnother day, another CVS and another Revlon coupon... scored "Calla Lily" nail polish for 0.07 cents. Also picked up the Rimmel Glam Day 2 Night Mascara (the one with that dual brush, which I'd been dying to try) for just $2.19 =)

ReplyDeleteI just went to cvs and got 1 of the $2 off coupons ans got Revlon's colorstay quad in inspired for free! It was marked down to $1.95 and with the $2 off I actually made 5 cents
