I've been looking forward to seeing the Color Club Holiday 2012 collection in person, so a big thanks to reader YG for letting us know that it has landed at Sally Beauty!

(scented, except for the flakie)
Keep reading for more pics of this collection and also a pic of the Orly Holiday 2012 mini set...

Berry and Bright (red w/ silver shimmer & red glitter)
Gift of Sparkle (purple w/ holo glitter)
Snow Flake (yellow/orange/green flakie; HT dupe)
Winter Affair (sparkly deep wine)
Glitter Wonderland (purple with blue and red glitter)
Ho Ho Holly (green foil w/ gold shimmer)

YG confirmed that the flakie polish is NOT scented. She bought a duo that contained Berry and Bright and Snow Flakes and she said that Berry and Bright smelled like berries while there was no scent to Snow Flakes.
If you haven't seen swatches of this collection yet, click here for some lovely ones. I really wasn't sold on this collection until I saw those swatches. Snow Flakes looks like a Sally Hansen (original) Hidden Treasure/Essie Shine of the Times dupe, so if you never got either of those, you have another chance!

Orly Holiday 2012 Minis
Orly Holiday 2012 Minis
Yay for minis!
Thanks so much, YG, for the great sighting and pics. I'm so happy these have landed at Sally!
I MUST have that Orly mini set, I've always wanted to try their polishes(plus that red glitter looks stunning)!
ReplyDeleteIf that red glitter is "Devil May Care" then yes, you totally want it... and full sized. It's that gorgeous. =)
DeleteI picked up 3 of the Color Club Winter Affair 2 packs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls for 3.99 each. They also have 2 packs of the newest Color Club fall line too, and some 4 packs of the minis for 4.99.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah - they had some of the Color Club magnetics, packaged with a top coat for 3.99.
The Winter Affair 2 packs have one of the colors and a sparkly topcoat, but it looks different from that Snow flakes one. It's the same orange/green/red color changing type, but bigger glitter - not flakies. Pretty tho.
I bought some of these the other day. I looked up some swatches on Google, and I think the sparkly top coat is Starry Temptress.
DeleteI was hoping to score Port-folio from the fall collection, but they didn't have that one. I was happy to get some of the Winter Affair and glitter magnetics though! :)
I have a comparison of Snow Flakes and Essie
ReplyDeleteShine of the Times on my blog, they are very comparable except that SotT is a bit denser.
I've never seen color club at Sally Beauty! Will be on the lookout now!
ReplyDeletei just picked up this collection - but the Winter Affair they have at Sallys is a gold foil, and Glitter Wonderland is a blue foil!
ReplyDeletethe other four seem to be correct but man, i want the originals too... :(
I got both of these mini sets at my local Sally Beauty Supply & love them.
ReplyDeleteJust FYI -- there are apparently two very different versions of Color Club's Gift of Sparkle. The one pictured above and the one I got is the first formula; it is definitely BLUE. However, some other bloggers, such as Burb Beauty which Nouveau Cheap links to above, have a Gift of Sparkle that is indeed a light purple with holo small glitter (not to be confused with Glitter Wonderland which is a darker purple). I asked about it on CC's Facebook page and they responded that Gift of Sparkle was blue but was reformulated.
I love the blue but want the newer one as well (polish piggie!). ;-)
Was in a Sally's last week - these were not in but the ChG Joy collection was and then tubs of tiny little Orly holiday bottles (not these shades - different ones - lots of pink and cranberry with some little glitter toppers and one iridescent glitter topper that looked like ChG Snow Globe.
ReplyDeleteLove the Orly minis! I thought too, about Snow Flake being a dupe! I have Shine of the Times, so I think I am good with that, but really can't wait to see/sniff these Color Clubs! Thanks for the information!
ReplyDeleteJust a little side note...I saw these at Sally's today. The blue polish at Sally's is called Gift of Sparkle, but that is not the Gift of Sparkle from the original Winter Affair collection. The original Gift of Sparkle is purple with holo glitter and is available at TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I was surprised to see that for the Sally's collection, they used a totally different polish but with the same name. Also, there is no gold in the original Winter Affair collection, but I didn't pick that one up to see the name of it. Way to confuse us, Color Club...lol.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is what the official Color Club spokesperson told me on their Facebook page when I asked about the two VERY different Gift of Sparkle polishes: "Gift of Sparkle is purple like the images you linked to. When the collection was first released, the shade was leaning toward blue until we decided to re-formulate."
ReplyDeleteI got the blue at Sally's but want the other one as well; it's really pretty and sparkly. And a gold foil? I thought Winter Affair was a dark shimmery red. ??? I'm REALLY confused now!
They have the purple holo version in the 2 packs at TJMaxx and Marshalls for 3.99. I didn't see anything blue or gold - but they had all the others.
DeleteThe topcoat is very similar to the new China Glaze - Make a Spectacle, sans the micro glitter. It's the orange/yellow/green color shifting type. I have no idea what it's called, but it's pretty and super dense.
The purple holo is gorgeous !
I saw these today. The color club set was the best. One of the ladies was telling me that china glaze wicked collection goes on clearance tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI got some of the Winter Affair polishes from Head2ToeBeauty (swatches on my blog) and none of the ones I got were scented.
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Color Club Winter Affair + flakie polish off of HauteLook a few weeks back, but I don't remember how much the duo was together...they never print what you paid on the packing list unfortunately. If I remember correctly, they had all of those polishes listed on the site separately & in duos at the time.
ReplyDeleteJust got back from another stop at Sally's. In prerelease photos and in the swatches I've seen from other bloggers, the title polish of the Color Club collection, Winter Affair, was a dark shimmery red. It's what the model on the display backing is wearing. But now the polish for sale labeled Winter Affair is a gold foil. Could not be more different!
ReplyDeleteOrly disappointed me with this set. They could have replace one of the reds with a green or at least a multicolor glitter.
