I know that there are (at least) four different displays floating around for Maybelline's limited edition Summer 2011 collection, The Bright Side (click here to see the Shine Sensational display and here to see the display with blushes, shadows, polishes. etc.). I wasn't expecting to find the infamous colored mascara display any time soon, but I was in another part of town recently and spotted it at Walgreens!
This The Bright Side display contains two limited edition Define-a-Line automatic eyeliners and four Great Lash mascaras (note: two of the four mascaras are limited edition).

And there are tear-pad coupons on this display for $1 off any Maybelline eyeliner when you purchase a Great Lash mascara.
I had $4 in Register Rewards that I needed to use, plus a $1 Maybelline coupon that was about to expire, so I purchased one of the liners for $1.49 (regular retail price: $6.49). You know I'm a sucker for automatic liners, and at just $1.49 I couldn't resist!

I can't comment on the staying power of this liner yet because I haven't had time to fully test it. But what I CAN tell you at this point is that the texture of this pencil is very soft and creamy--no tugging at all during application. Also, it's hard to see in my pics but in addition to the shimmer, there is a lot of fine silver sparkle in this formula as well. Turquoise Shock is not for the timid, let's just say that! Maybelline was wise to put the word "shock" in the name of this one! If you like bright, vivid colors with lots of shimmer and sparkle, you might love this one.

ReplyDeleteomg I had a Great Lash in Royal Blue back in the 6th grade! I just grew to hate the Great Lash formula though :(

ReplyDeleteI know alot of people LOVE Great Lash and I did back in the day, but this Maybelline's other offerings I think it pales in comparison!
I need both of the LE Mascaras! I have been searching for reasonably priced bright colored mascaras. I have a few different colored ones but they come out too dark. Maybe these will be different.
ReplyDeleteI got the teal and love it! It's not as dramatic as you would think, very subtle and pretty so can wear on a daily basis.
