Breaking Beauty News: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (like a DIY Minx!)

The amazing Kimberly has done it again! She just sent me these pics of a brand new (not even out in stores yet) product from Sally Hansen that has me doing a little happy dance!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips look like a do-it-yourself version of the very popular Minx nail designs. Check it out:

Um, YES PLEASE! I don't know about you, but I am SO excited to try these! I don't have more details for you just yet because again, these are not yet out in stores. Kimberly was lucky enough to see the brochure and kindly snap these photos for us. No word yet on the price or when they'll be available, but definitely something to look forward to!

Good ol' Sally is really stepping it up for 2011, isn't she?

What do you think? Are you excited to give these a whirl when you spot them?

Huge thanks to Kimberly for the scoop!

  1. These look so awesome! I guess they're not quite the same as minx nails though, since they don't require the use of heat to attach the polymer to the nail bed- but they look like snazzy peal and stick nails! :D

  2. The coupon expires on 3/31/11 so, the product should be out before then, right? ;) And these two little strips will have to hold me til I see the real thing. I see lots of designs that look sweet. How about that one that looks like demin??!!

  4. Mimi: Oh yes, of course. I just meant a "DIY version" since it's a nail design that adheres to your nail in one piece. ;) And since the box claims that they'll last for 10 days, it seems like they may have more endurance than the average nail stickers!

Kimberly: Ooooh that's great to know! Thank you again for the fantastic scoop. I'm eyeing the lace design myself. ;)

  5. Niki: I haven't personally tried those, or any of the other more plain versions (I think Avon has one?) but these designs are totally calling my name! Can't wait for us both to try them! :)

  9. 10 days huh! I can't wait till you test these out to see how long they really last! :D
I'm almost hesitant to try them, people talk about top coats giving them perfect nails for days on end but I've never gone 24 hours without tip wear. This makes me wonder what the heck I'm doing to my fingers, and if these awesome SH paint thingies will hold up!

  13. All I can say is, they had better be cheaper than the Sephora ones! DO YOU HEAR ME SALLY? YOU ARE A DRUG STORE BRAND!

p.s. It still really pisses me off that there is, nor was there ever, a REAL Sally Hansen!

p.p.s. WOoT! I still want them!

  15. Oooh, these look really cool! I saw something like these in Sephora the other day, and they were suuuuper pricey. I don't remember the brand, though. :(
I need to grow my nails out some more so I can try them once they come out!

  17. i love this idea! Walgreens used to carry something similar several years ago and i would always buy the french manicure...i dont remember who made the product but i really liked them! They actually worked and looked like i had been to the salon. The cost was about the same but the staying power was much longer. I am lucky if I get a whole day from a salon manicure! I cant wait for these to come out!!! :) Thanks all!

  18. Hello, Gianna! These look like they'll function exactly like the INOCO nail polish strips that I bought at Wags on sale. man, I LOVE those things!! I bought a color I've never seen outside of a salon ("Rose Tea", a lovely rosey-plum color), and the wear-time I got on those WAS right around 10 days! I've never had a manicure last that long!! I didn't use any top coat, no base coat, just the strip as directed, and I didn't even get tip wear until around day 4. Seriously. That never happens. Part of my issue is that my nails grow fast, so by day 7 or so I'm already getting a gap at the cuticle, and that's actually where I had more color loss, because of the edge catching on my hair in the shower. I can't recommend the INOCO strips enough, so if these Sally Hansen ones are of comparable quality but unique designs, I will DEFINITELY pick up a set. =)
