RECOMMENDATIONS
Here are theBalm products that I personally own (purchased with my own money) that I absolutely LOVE and use regularly:
Mary Lou Manizer - $24; $12 during flash sale
This is my all-time favorite highlighter. No matter how many others I purchase and use, I always, always go back to this one. It provides the most beautiful champagne-beige glow to my skin, and the staying power is excellent. I also love that you can easily control the intensity. I also love that there's no glitter in this formula; just pure glowing, shimmery goodness.
Manizer Sisters Trio - $28; $14 during flash sale
If you haven't picked this one up already (I've blogged about other deals on it in the past), I think this is a lovely way to try each Manizer shade and determine which shades work best for you. I adore all of the shades in this palette but, of course, Mary Lou is my favorite. By the way, I don't find any inconsistencies in texture or performance with the shades in this trio when compared to the full-size products.
INSTAIN Blushes - $22; $11 during flash sale
I adore these blushes and own almost every shade (my favorite is Toile, which is a gorgeous strawberry-coral shade, but I also adore Lace, which is a bubblegum pink). You really can't go wrong with any color though, because these blushes are beautifully pigmented and the staying power is fantastic. They're easy to apply and blend, and they really do stay put. Some shades are true mattes, while others have a subtle sheen to them, but none of them are sparkly/glittery.
Meet Matt(e) Nude Eyeshadow Palette - $42; $21 during flash sale
I can't even count the reasons why I love this all-matte eyeshadow palette. So let me give you just a few. First, the pans are quite generous, so it's very easy to maneuver your brush and pick up product. Second, each and every shade in this palette is fantastic; there's not a stinker in the bunch (which is hard to do when it comes to all-matte eyeshadow palettes). Each shade is super pigmented and easy to apply and blend. Third, each shade in this palette is wearable and great for everyday use. The colors in this palette can be very easily combined with shadows in your existing stash, and I love that there's a nice mix of cool and warm tones. The shade Matte Singh is probably my favorite transition shade of all time.
DownBoy Shadow/Blush - $21; $10.50 during flash sale
I feel like DownBoy doesn't get as much love as it should. I took a chance on it during a previous flash sale and if you have medium-to-fair skin, I think you may love this baby pink blush. Since it's a light-medium shade, I don't think it would work as well for deeper skintones. I am a MAC NC20 and it works beautifully for me. It's a cool-toned baby pink with a soft sheen. Very wearable, and as with the INSTAIN blushes, the staying power is excellent. It lasts all day on me, and I have oily skin.
OTHER IDEAS
These are the products that I'm personally considering purchasing, based on reviews and feedback I have received from you.
Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipsticks - $17; $8.50 during flash sale
I have my eye on Committed and Charming in particular (see some beautiful swatches here).
PHOTOBALM Powder Foundation - $26; $13 during flash sale
This is theBalm's new fragrance-free and talc-free powder foundation. From the reviews I've read so far, I've heard that it doesn't settle into fine lines, which I find very promising. I've also heard that it provides light-to-medium coverage with a long-wearing matte finish, so if it doesn't conceal everything I like to conceal with my powder foundations, it sounds like it might still be a great setting powder to wear on top of liquid foundation. As an oily-skinned gal who prefers full-coverage, I love using powder foundations on top of regular foundations.
So let's hear it! What are YOUR favorites from theBalm, and what do you plan to pick up during this sale (if you're planning on ordering, that is)?
I agree that getting the Manizer sisters trio is a great deal. I use all 3 shades but Cindy Lou Manizer is my favorite with my fair skin. I also love How Bout Them Apples cheek and lip palette and the Nude Dude Palette.
ReplyDeletewow, shipping to Canada is highway robbery. When I lived in Ontario, I had a mail box at the UPS store in Michigan. I had everything sent there and would make the trip a couple times a month.
ReplyDeleteDrugstore prices for theBalm ? Oh yes! I just ordered PhotoBalm powder foundation and MadLash mascara. With shipping (my eternal bugbear!!) $29 total. What a treat!
ReplyDeleteThank you for alerting us to this.
