I know a lot of you were excited about this coming back in stock again after being out of stock for months, so I thought I'd give you an unboxing because I bought another one this time around!
UPDATE: this set is out of stock at Macy's and Belk now, but it is in stock on the Estee Lauder website HERE for $10 + free shipping and you will also receive your choice of one free deluxe sample with your order (one of the options is the Advanced Night Repair 0.24 oz., so you can get 0.48 oz. total of Advanced Night Repair for $10 + free shipping!) (Thanks so much to reader Daffne for the great tip!)
So in case you haven't ordered this yet and want to see exactly what's inside, here you go:
Contents:
- Deluxe travel size Advanced Night Repair (0.5 oz.)
- Deluxe travel size Matte Perfecting Primer (0.24 oz)
- Foundation Brush
The1 oz. Advanced Night Repair retails for $65, and this 0.24 oz. bottle retails for $16. The 1 oz. Matte Perfecting Primer retails for $36 (with excellent reviews on the Ulta site, by the way), so this 0.5 oz. tube has a retail value of $18. So for $10 total + free shipping, I'd say this little set is an excellent value. Even better if you select the 0.24 oz. Advance Night Repair as your free sample, since you'll double the amount for just $10 + free shipping. That's a crazy good deal!
This is a quick comparison of the foundation brush next to an EcoTools powder brush. You can see that the Estee Lauder brush is by no means full-size, but it's not super tiny either. The bristles are quite soft and it feel well-constructed for a freebie type of brush.
All in all, I'm super happy with this set for $10 + free shipping. I think that if you're interested in trying any of these products (or you already know you like these products and want to stock up), I would grab it at Estee Lauder before it goes away (again).
BONUS PICS:
BONUS PICS:
Since I ordered this from Macy's when it was still in stock there, I thought you might like to see the freebies that were included with my order. I had no special code for these freebies--they were a total surprise.
Whenever I write about deals at Macy's, I'm hesitant to say that all beauty orders come with free shipping AND free samples, because I don't always get free samples with my Macy's beauty orders. However, for the past several orders I've placed online, I have received free samples. But this is the first time that I've received SO MANY free samples. As you can see above, this is called a "Goody Bag".
Contents of free goody bag:
- Paco Rabanne Olympea (peelie card)
- Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (peelie card)
- Versace Man Eau Fraiche (vial with spray nozzle)
- Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy (vial with spray nozzle)
- Dior J'adore (vial with spray nozzle)
- John Varvatos Artisan Blu (vial with spray nozzle)
Not too shabby for free, with no code required! Just something to keep in mind the next time you order something from Macy's.

Those brushes are great for applying cream masks.
ReplyDeleteOMG I am SO glad you brought that up! I don't like these types of brushes for applying foundation (they tend to leave streaks) but I'm hooked on using them for applying masks! Ever since I got a similar brush in a GLAMGLOW kit, I have been using these types of foundation brushes for my masks and I love, love, love them. Using a brush like this with a mask really allows you to cover your skin in harder-to-reach places like the sides of your nose, and you can get such a precise application.
DeleteThanks so much for the reminder! xo
why is that kit called the double wear light makeup kit? There is no double wear in the kit, correct? Its just primer, serum and a brush. I got a different kit on black friday for 10.00. It had a double wear concealer and some eye balm.
ReplyDeleteNo, it never contained a foundation the first time around, nor this time around. The packaging/box is in reference to this kit being used in conjunction WITH the foundation, which you would buy separately. It's confusing, I know! :)
DeleteG, it seems that Belk is just selling this kit for $10 most likely to get rid of them. When this kit came out, you did get a tube of foundation with it. That's why there is an empty space and it says "choose your shade". I suspect they weren't selling so perhaps they are trying to unload them for $10. I used to work at Macy's and we had them when they first came out but the kit wasn't $10 obviously because you got a full size tube of foundation. I can't recall the price, however, it was a nice little deal as it wasn't priced much more than a stand alone tube of foundation.
DeleteThanks so much for the clarification, Carol! That makes even more sense now! xo
DeleteSold Out! Huhuhu...
ReplyDeleteIt's in stock at Estee Lauder with free shipping AND a free deluxe sample! Please see my updated post above! xo
DeleteG this does look a great deal but I'm a little confused, where is the foundation? I see the box says "choose your shade" and I see a tube there. Do you have to purchase the foundation separately and then you get this kit for $10? Sorry if I missed something here.
ReplyDeleteNo, this is a standalone box, not a GWP. It's $10 for the 3 items listed in my post, no additional purchase required. Please see my comment above for a little more of an explanation. Sorry it's so confusing! :)
DeleteThank you for clearing that up!
DeleteYou're so welcome, Lily!
DeleteHi G, just wanted to let you know it's sold out already. :(
ReplyDeleteIt's in stock at Estee Lauder with free shipping AND a free deluxe sample! Please see my updated post above! xo
DeleteSold out :(
ReplyDeleteIt's in stock at Estee Lauder with free shipping AND a free deluxe sample! Please see my updated post above! xo
DeleteThey have it at Bloomingdales but with $6 shipping fee
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's also in stock on the EL site with free shipping and a free sample--I just updated my post with the link if you need it! :)
DeleteIf you live near Belk, they were doing a free 10 day sample of the Doublewear foundation. I guess they think the primer and serum samples are great enough to get y0u to stop at the counter to sample the foundation.
ReplyDeleteI just bought it on te Estée Lauder site same price free shipping and free sample
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Daffne!!! Updating my post now! xo
DeleteI'm glad you liked your kit, but it really isn't exciting without the foundation. I don't really want this, even if it is only $10. I felt the same way about all the Sephora Black Friday deals. They were all things that looked like freebies being sold for $10.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that! :( I have been wanting to try Advanced Night Repair forever and since that bottle alone is $16, it was a great deal (even better with this new sample, which doubles the amount of Advanced Night Repair for just $10 total). And after seeing all the glowing reviews about that primer, it's even better deal for me and I'm off to buy another! Lol! :)
DeleteI signed up for their newsletters and received 15% off so $8.50 total!!!! :D I also am excited to try the primer because of all the great reviews it has!
ReplyDeleteScore!!! Thanks for the tip--I didn't even see that (just placed an order myself)! :D I can't wait to hear what you think of the primer--I'm excited to try it too!
DeleteYes G there is an extra 15 % offer of you sign up!! Even works on sale items
DeleteI commented on insta but, use code elist15 on EL website and get 15% off, making it $8.50 with tax.
ReplyDeleteSold out on the Estee website. :( 6:15 a.m. 1/11/17
ReplyDeleteI am so sad it is sold out. I would of loved to get this.
ReplyDeleteThanks, G! I agree about Macy's hit or miss in terms of providing free samples. I had some orders that came with a nice assortment of samples and then there are those that came with nothing. Over the month of November-December my packages varied from sample-laden to sample-nada! Lol!
ReplyDeleteSold out on Estee Lauder website
