Thanks so much to reader @jessfedup for the hot tip about this one!
It's BACK! The Allure Best of Beauty 2016 Box is now available for $45 + free shipping HERE ($125+ value). This came early this year, since the 2015 box didn't release until the first week of December! DO NOT WAIT if you want this because it WILL sell out.
If you're new to this box, it does NOT require a subscription (it's open to everyone, while supplies last) and you can check out my unboxing of the 2015 box HERE.
Contents (from the Allure site):
- Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream
- Supergoop Forever Young Hand Cream SPF 40
- Julep Konjac Sponge
- Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Pencil
- Clarins Multi-Active Jour
- NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Adoration
- Fragrance Lock
- St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse
- Clinique All About Eyes
Sadly, Allure doesn't state on their website what's full-size and what's deluxe/travel size but judging from last year's box, I am pretty confident that the NARS Dual Intensity Blush is full-size (since the NARS eyeshadow we received last year was full-size). That blush alone retails for $45 at Sephora, so it's like you're getting the rest of the box free. Obviously the Living Proof product is travel size based on the pic, and the Fragrance Lock is a sample vial. But the Julep Konjac Sponge looks full-size to me, and that retails for $12 at Ulta.
Thanks again, @jessfedup, for the hot tip!
I want this so bad!!! I just started subscribing to Allure in August and I LOVE all the boxes I have received. I adore sample/deluxe/travel size items of things I own and new ones to try out. And some items are full size so that is an extra plus. I want this so bad!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, the Allure subscription box is the only sub I currently subscribe to. I've been really happy with it as well! And yeah, I really want this box too, girl. The ONLY product I wouldn't use is the St Tropez (I'm just not a self tanner person). Ugh...the struggle! Lol.
Deleteisn't usually more items?
ReplyDeleteLast year there were 9 items if you include the replacement pads for the eyelash curler, same amount this year.
DeleteI linked to my unboxing right in this blog post, so you can see that it's the same amount, as Kica mentioned.
DeleteI'm GUESSING that you're probably thinking of the Allure Beauty Thrills box, which comes out every spring and winter? That one contains a ton of products. The winter Beauty Thrills will release in December and I'll post as always when it's available. :)
Got it! The NARS blush sold me on it, and I JUST read about fragrance lock in a magazine a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm intrigued by Fragrance Lock as well. I've read some reviews saying that it really does work, so I'm dying to try it!
DeleteOh I want this one!!!! Gah!!! This mandatory no buy is killing me!!! Hahaha! Thanks for the lemming G.!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFuuuuuudge!!!! I want that blush!!!!
ReplyDeleteMath time! ;) Here's the approximate size/price breakdown, from what I can tell:
ReplyDeleteLiving Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream, 2 oz, $15
Supergoop Forever Young Hand Cream SPF 40, 0.5 oz, $6
Julep Konjac Sponge, full size, $12
Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'N' Kohl Pencil, mini, $12
Clarins Multi-Active Jour, 0.5 oz, $15
NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Adoration***
Fragrance Lock, sample, $2
St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse, 1.69 oz, $18
Clinique All About Eyes, 0.21 oz, $13
***Before adding in the Nars blush, the value is about $93. If it is a full-size blush ($45), then the total value would be about $138. But it is possible this could be a slightly smaller size (like the Nars blush Sephora sent to Rouge members which comes in full-size-looking packaging but is about two-thirds the size), making it about $30, and making total value of the box about $123.
Also, there were 7 items in last year's box and all but two were full size, and this year there are 9 items and all but 1 or 2 of them are deluxe sample/travel size.
I still think it's worth $45 either way you look at it, so it just depends on if you like/want these items.
Wow. Thanks for the breakdown!!!
DeleteI was tempted but I've heard the blush is difficult to work with so I'm gonna pass
