The Lipstick League Question of the Week
What's your current go-to highlighter? If you don't have one, tell us about the last highlighter you purchased.
G's answer: my ride or die, never fails, always performs highlighter is theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. It's expensive at $24, but one compact lasts FOREVER since you only need a tiny bit at a time. Plus, you have numerous attempts to grab it on sale throughout the year whether it be during theBalm's famous 50% off sales, HauteLook sales, or on Amazon where it regularly hovers at around $19.99 (it's $21.60 + free Prime shipping as of the time of this post) or on Overstock (it's $16.79 + $4.95 shipping as of the time of this post; free shipping on orders $45+). The reason why this highlighter is my go-to is because it just never disappoints. It leaves the most beautiful golden-champagne luminous glow on the skin, but it's not a glitterbomb (no glitter pieces at all). It's packed with glowy goodness, but at the same time it's easy to control. With a light hand, you can get a subtle glow. With a heavier hand, you can glow from outer space. Also, it's so easy to apply and so easy to blend, and the staying power is fantastic as well. There is just nothing wrong with this highlighter and it' a much-loved classic for good reason. Worth every penny. (Full disclosure: I bought Mary-Lou Manizer with my own money.)

My favorite highlight of the moment has to be Becca's Champagne Pop. Absolutely gorgeous with a berry toned eye for fall.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of highlighters that I have purchased over the last year high end and low, but I keep coming back to Physicians Formula in Warm Nude. So many ways to use it depending on how you sweep your brush over it. From bronze to pink to pearl all play together beautifully or on their own.
ReplyDeleteI really love my Becca Opal... I have a bunch of highlighters... But it is the one I grab for everyday. I'd like to try moonstone next...
ReplyDeleteWaiting for the weekly drugstore post :)
ReplyDeleteI can't say I have a current favorite. I have a Wet n Wild one I like, the big round pan with the four shades in it, the name of which eludes me now. I have a few others, found on Etsy, or a couple from Milani or e.l.f. Of course I'm getting over a case of bronchitis and an ear infection right now, so I haven't even worn any foundation for two weeks! (Thank god for working at home!)
ReplyDeleteThe 1.00( might be 2.00 now) Elf color stick in Persimmon. Its amazing.
