My Holiday Beauty Value Set Picks from Nordstrom

You know I'm all about the value sets here at Nouveau Cheap. So when Nordstrom asked me to partner with them on this blog post, I didn't think twice. I already had almost all of these holiday value sets bookmarked from their website as gift ideas (and a few as #treatyoself gifts for myself). In addition to (hopefully) giving you some gift ideas, I am including my personal thoughts about each set, and why it was chosen, below.

I want to mention that I specifically chose some of these sets not only because of their value and the fact that I am personally drawn to them, but also because you cannot purchase some of these sets at other retailers (some are Nordstrom-exclusives), or if you can, you may not receive free shipping. Just a reminder: Nordstrom offers free everyday shipping and free returns on all orders (no minimum required), and your choice of three free samples with all beauty orders. As of the time of publication, one of the free sample choices is Maison Martin Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning (fragrance sample), which I highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet. It's lovely!

Herbivore Botanicals Skincare Set - $40 ($54 value)

This new, Nordstrom-exclusive value set from Herbivore is a great way to try three of their products at a discounted price. I own a few products from Herbivore (which I love) and I have been wanting to try these three products in particular. So if anyone in my family is reading this, yes, this is a hint!
  • Set includes:
  • Lapis Balancing Facial Oil (0.3 oz.)
  • Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist (2 oz.)
  • Bamboo Charcoal Cleansing Bar Soap (4 oz.)

This set contains some of Sigma's most popular and highly-rated eye brushes. The E25 Blending Brush and the E45 Small Tapered Blending Brush both retail for $16 when purchased separately. The E40 Tapered Blending Brush retails for $17 when purchased separately. So for $34, that works out to $11.33 per brush.
  • Set includes:
  • E25 Blending Brush
  • E45 Small Tapered Blending Brush
  • E40 Tapered Blending Brush

In my ridiculously large stash of lip balms, my Jack Black lip balms are always in the "frequently-reached-for" section. I adore them, and this set is a nice way to try multiple flavors and save a bit in the process. I believe that the Black Cherry & Pomegranate debuted in a limited edition set back in 2014 and it's making its first reappearance in this set (it's limited edition and not part of the core line). I didn't get it back in 2014, which means I need this set.
  • Set includes:
  • Natural Mint & Shea Butter (0.25 oz.)
  • Lemon & Shea Butter (0.25)
  • Black Cherry & Pomegranate (0.25 oz.)
  • Shea Butter & Vitamin E (0.25 oz.)

This is a new Nordstrom-exclusive set that I'm dying to get because I've tried a lot of products by Mario Badesu, but not their masks. So this is a nice way to try all three before committing to a full-size purchase.
  • Set includes:
  • Flower & Tonic Mask (0.5 oz.)
  • Super Collagen Mask (0.5 oz.)
  • Enzyme Revitalizing Mask (0.5 oz.)

I only own one Caviar Stick Eye Color but I love it so much (so easy to apply when I'm in a hurry and it does not budge, even on my oily skin). The sticks in this set are deluxe size but they're 0.03 oz, whereas a full-size stick is 0.05 oz for $29. So you still get a generous amount here (for perspective, the L'Oreal Le Matte Lip Colour twist-up sticks are also 0.03 oz. and those are full-size).
  • Set includes:
  • Rosegold (0.03 oz.)
  • Amethyst (0.03 oz.)
  • Aubergine (0.03 oz.)
  • Tuxedo (0.03 oz.)

I know for a fact that this is a $27 value without even looking it up, because I have purchased these 1-oz tubes individually for $9 many times (technically, they're 0.9 oz. but close enough!). I won't spend $9 for one ounce of hand cream if it isn't amazing stuff, but Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy is truly amazing stuff. The Hand Therapy formula is in my top three hand creams of all time because it's very long-lasting, absorbs quickly, and it's extremely moisturizing. Plus, you only need a tiny bit, so one small tube will last you a while. I already bought this set for my mom for Christmas (sorry for the spoiler if you're reading this, Mom!).
  • Set includes:
  • Gardeners Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy (0.9 oz.)
  • La Source® Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy (0.9 oz.)
  • Lavender Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy (0.9 oz.)

I've mentioned this before, but I love the Alter Ego Lip Gloss formula (and I'm not even a gloss person!). These feel so lovely on the lips and the colors are gorgeous. You get six FULL-SIZE tubes in this set (0.13 oz. each) for $25. That is a steal, considering that one tube retails for $16.
  • Set includes:
  • Angel (nude with gold shimmer)
  • Beauty Queen (rose pink)
  • Ballerina (bubblegum pink)
  • Connoisseur (rose brown)
  • Celebrity (brick red)
  • Provocateur (black cherry)

Kiehl's Classic Scents Coriander Edition Duo - $45 ($57 value)

This set contains two large size bottles of product in my favorite Kiehl's scent ever, Coriander (such a clean, soothing, yet earthy fragrance that's great for men and women alike). I love this body lotion and I love this body wash, so it's kind of a no-brainer for me.
  • Set includes:
  • Deluxe Coriander Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & Oatmeal (16.9 oz.)
  • Coriander Bath & Shower Liquid Body Cleanser (16.9 oz.)

  1. I recently purchased the Lorac lip gloss set at Ulta and I am obsessed. Is that the same set? They have different names, but I can't tell for sure. I would love more colors! I would totally buy it if they are different.

  3. Thanks for this post. There is just so much to wade through at Nordstrom and I hadn't noticed any of these sets. I am probably going to go for the Caviar sticks, I have oily eyelids too and would love something that would put down color fast.

    1. You're so welcome! I agree with you--Nordstrom has so many value sets this holiday season! I'm so happy that you found my post useful! And I would LOVE to know what you think if you get the Caviar Stick set. :)

Also a few tips about the Caviar Sticks: I find that they don't budge on me at all, and they work best without primer. However, I have seen some people who get better results by applying an eyeshadow primer first, so if they aren't completely bulletproof when you try them, try a primer first and hopefully that helps. I think it comes down to body chemistry as I find that they work better WITHOUT primer on my own lids, but I just wanted to mention that. :)

  4. hello everyone,
do you guys think that Sigma brush trio is worth getting? I really need some good eye brushes (my brush collection is pretty bad) lol. Should I wait for different brands/sets etc? thanks in advance :)

    1. As I mentioned in my post, the brushes in this set are some of their most popular and highly-rated (I have not personally tried them, but this set is on my own personal wish list). I suggest going to the Sigma site and looking up each brush so you can see all of the reviews (there are hundreds) and you can judge for yourself based on that feedback. Hope that helps a bit!

  6. Hi G! What I love about you & your blog is that you've always come across as honest and that's why whether or not it's a sponsored post I know I can trust what you're saying. Some tempting sets here! Thank you :)

    1. Brendanese, thank you SO much for that. You have no idea how much I appreciate you saying that. Sponsored posts help support what I do here, but I would never say anything in a sponsored post that I wouldn't say in a non-sponsored post. I'm so grateful for your comment. Thank you so much!

  7. Thanks for the recommendations! Heading to the Nordstrom site after this! Have you tried the mally shadow sticks? How do the caviar sticks compare? I have oily lids as well and the mally sticks still fade and crease on me...
