Wet n Wild hasn't posted swatches of the upcoming Metallic Liquid Lipsticks yet, but they DID post a new sneak peek at their upcoming highlighters today, which I'm guessing will hit stores in May, along with the Metallic Liquid Lipsticks.
They didn't really reveal too much about these yet on their Instagram, aside from the fact that they're "coming soon". So I don't know if there are more shades than what you see above, and I also don't know the price. But if these are like all of the other WnW face products, these should be no more than $3.99.
Could these new highlighters compare to the legendary Wet n Wild highlighter, Acapulco Glow??
RIP, Acapulco Glow. Gone but never forgotten.
Acapulco Glow, which Wet n Wild discontinued back in 2009, was my favorite WnW highlighter EVER. Many highlighters that WnW has released since then have come close but, if you ask me, none have ever completely taken its place. I took this photo for a blog post I did back in 2010, when I found a pretty nice dupe from L.A. Colors (which has since been discontinued), but if these new highlighters from WnW are a dupe for Acapulco Glow (or come very close), I will be throwing a party and you're all invited!
PS: If you never experienced Acapulco Glow back in the day, my pic above makes it look quite flat. But NO. It was gorgeous and truly delivered a "glow". You can check out some really bad swatches I posted back in 2010 (hey, I had only been blogging for a year at that point!) to get a little bit better of an idea of the beauty of that highlighter.

I stocked up on Acapulco Glow and had forgotten what year it was discontinued. Surprisingly to me I still have four left! Think I might have over overindulged...
ReplyDeleteOmg! If you happen to grab these new ones, I would be forever grateful if you could tell me how they compare. I've been looking in my bin of makeup from that era for the past 15 minutes and I cannot for the life of me find my last remaining AG. I'm starting to panic because I would really like to know how close these are!
DeleteOoo, how pretty! They look really high end too. Can't wait to see these in person although I need more highlighters like I need a hole in my head.
ReplyDeleteLol you and me both, Carol! But that never seems to stop me. Sigh...
DeleteOmg these look gorgeous!! Wet n Wild is really stepping their game up this year. I'm probably gonna end up getting both of these lol
ReplyDeleteMake that two of us! ;)
DeleteLooks like it was Burberry inspired. I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, good call! I definitely see a similarity to the Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 highlighters!
Deleteif these have the same smooth & buttery formula as hollywood boulevard from the fergie line , i'm in !!!!
ReplyDeletelove the design on the pan , although i'm not quite sure what it's supposed to be . haha .
They definitely look like leaves to me--leaves of a tropical plant. :)
DeleteI have been seeing swatches of these on IG and they look so pretty! I can't wait till these arrive. Also the post from 2010 is pretty revelant given the contouring trend.
ReplyDeleteHey G - FYI, for Ulta Platinum members who received the email with the 20% off code, I just tried it online and it worked with the Too Faced Semi Sweet palette! So looks like unlike most codes we can use it on prestige cosmetics. Also, the Spackle Primer trial size for free still worked. The platinum code expires today so if anyone wants to use it, use it now! :) - Leslie
ReplyDeleteLooks similar to the embossing on Tarte's latest blushes. I'm excited to see these! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteEmbossing!!! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteGoing back even further to the white and blue packaging W&W used to make Silk Finish blush in "all over shimmer" which is my holy grail high lighter from the 2000s. I have 1 left I swatch against everything and never find a dupe. The new picture on the right might be it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's almost bluish silver and looks so nice on my cool toned fair skin!
ReplyDeleteNooo! I don't need anymore highlighters. Stop it, Wet & Wild!
ReplyDeleteI'm so grabbing these the first chance I get.
Those cream highlighter sticks are the same packaging as those that came out in the Pocahontas collection. Looks like a couple similar shades, too.
ReplyDeleteThey both look really pretty! But, if the swatches on Instagram are accurate, way too dark for my pale, pale skin.
ReplyDeleteHey do you know if these will be limited edition? Because they are on their spring limited edition post :(
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh--gorgeous!! The design looks like an orchid to me and I'll probably get sad when it starts to wear down. I haven't shopped in the drugstore in ages but these are absolutely must-haves!
