UPDATE Regarding Amazon Luxury Beauty Promotion

There have been several questions coming through to me here on the blog and via social media about the promotion that I posted about last night (see bottom of this page for my original post). So I wanted to take a moment to clear some things up. I spoke directly with Amazon and can now confirm the following:

  • The $25 credit that you will receive in your account after making a qualifying $50 Amazon Luxury Beauty purchase can be applied to ANYTHING on the Amazon site (not just another Luxury Beauty purchase), however the item(s) you purchase with your $25 credit MUST be shipped and sold by Amazon. Some of you had said that you could only use this credit toward another Luxury Beauty purchase, so I just wanted to confirm that this is not the case.

  • Some of you had mentioned that you did not receive your $25 credit after you made your qualifying purchase. I want to remind you that, per Amazon, the credit will only appear in your cart AFTER your qualifying purchase has SHIPPED. So you will not see it immediately--you order must ship first. When you receive your shipping confirmation, if you still do not see the credit in your account, then you should contact Amazon directly for assistance via the Help page HERE.

  • Update: If you are having issues with adding the code to your cart at checkout, and you're sure that your purchases qualify, please do a live chat with Amazon or email Amazon Customer Service and they should be able to credit you the $25. I have heard from several readers both here in the comments and on social media (thank you!!) who did this and received the credit, no problem.

 I hope that helps!

Here's my original post in case you missed it last night:

Many thanks to longtime reader Marcy for this one!

Now and for a limited time only (I do not know when this promotion will end), when you spend $50 on anything in the Amazon Luxury Beauty Department HERE that is shipped and fulfilled by Amazon, you can enter code LUX25BACK at checkout to receive a $25 credit that you can use on a future Amazon purchase. WOW! That is one of the best deals I've ever seen Amazon offer when it comes to Luxury Beauty! Definitely take some time and look around--there's lots to see in that department when it comes to makeup, skincare, fragrance, etc.

AND DON'T FORGET: some of theBalm items in the Luxury Beauty Department (like this one) are already reduced, so you'll be saving even more with those purchases!

FINE PRINT:

For a limited time, customers can receive $25 back with $50 purchase in Luxury Beauty with promo code LUX25BACK. Customers will receive $25 towards future Amazon.com purchase automatically credited to their account after their qualifying order ships. Offer only applies to items shipped and sold by Amazon.com. One redemption per customer. Limited time only and while supplies last.

Thanks again, Marcy, for the hot tip!

  1. I just placed my order yesterday and the promo didn't work. I tried it with 3 the balm louminizers but still not working. However, amazon customer service is the best. I chat with them and they helped to get the $25 gift card so in case you have problem with your order or the promo code, just contact amazon!!!!

  3. Yep, I was getting the message "Promotional code cannot be applied" when I tried it out for my definitely-qualifying Mario Badescu order... I went to the help section and did a live chat with Amazon, and they credited $25 to my account after they placed my order. Tedious, but it turned out fine!

    1. I also bought Mario Badescu stuff and had entered the code under my account earlier in the day on my phone. When I went back later to checkout on my computer, it said code couldn't be applied. However, on the side it said something about a code being applied so I'm assuming that it carried over from earlier in the day. Hoping it worked but I know Amazon customer service is seriously the best so I shouldn't have a problem either way.

  4. I suspect the tedious process of the code not working is to see if they can get ppl to spend $50 without a deal but they don't know about G's determined followers!

  5. I chatted with a rep as well, and he actually discounted the price of my purchase by $25 instead. Lucky!
I got theBalm Nude 'tude palette and FratBoy blush. Very excited to finally try these!
    Thanks G!

  6. It wounds me that after perusing all the brands, there is only ONE item that interests me. Cost: $49. So close, so far.

    1. If you sort the luxury beauty items from lowest price to highest, there is a $2 sample of StriVectin-AR Advanced Retinol Night Treatment (.25 fl. oz). You can add that maybe? It'd be worth it for the extra $25 credit you'd get back. It's easier (for me at least) to find the drop down sorting menu on the regular non-mobile version of Amazon.

    2. You have wizard hands, as I couldn't find anything lower than some lip balms I really don't need.
Alas, I got nowhere. I found a Coola product I wanted to try, but the Amazon chat rep says that not all items are eligible. I don't see that anywhere in the fine print! If it's under Luxury Beauty, it should count.
      Sigh.

  7. I had two ButterLondon sets that were $51 and it kept giving the error message. I added a Stila smudge stick and it said promotion applied over under free shipping. I removed the smudge stick and the promotion stayed so we'll see if it actually credits. I screenshotted just in case it doesn't.

  8. Thanks so much, G! And, also everyone else for the hint about amazon customer service. They were so kind and efficient and my rep actually processed the code as $25 off my order cost!

I purchased a couple of small things for me, but really, it's my fault for introducing my husband to Jack Black Beard Lube and Art of Shaving Balm. Before me, he used whatever was cheapest at the grocery... :-/

    1. LOL. My wife never even washed her face or used any serum or lotion. Now she must have her micellar water and the algenist serum and eyecream.

  9. I don't know why I was so lucky with this promotion. I added $80 worth of products from theBalm to my cart, an automatic "courtesy credit" was applied for $35. I used the coupon code, got free one day shipping, and received my $25 credit today. I'm happy! Thanks for the heads up on this deal. I was able to get some things I've been wanting for a long time.

  10. Thank you so much for this info!!! I made an order, but the code didn't work in the checkout page. I had to chat with an Amazon rep, but they were really helpful and nice. I should be getting a confirmation email for the $25.00 credit *WHEN* my order ships so hopefully there will be no problems.

  11. Does anyone know if the code is still valid/active? I added eligible items to the cart (theBalm) and entered the code but it says "the promotional code you entered is not valid"....what gives? I hope it's not over. Although I do see a new advertised promo code :*****(
