Name one (1) drugstore beauty product that you discovered in 2015 that is now an essential part of your makeup routine. If you don't have one, then tell us about any drugstore product that's working like a rockstar for you right now!
PS: I want to thank you all again for your detailed and thoughtful responses to last week's Wednesday Question. Your comments were so incredibly helpful, and they really gave me some new insights into why each medium works (and doesn't work) for so many of you. Thank you again for that, and I'm so happy to hear you all still love blogs. Yay!
NYX brow powder, paired with my Real Techniques angled brow brush. I have fairly thick brows, but they're sparse around their starting point, and I have blended the NYX brow powder to make a custom color for filling them in. I have auburn hair and so it's hard to find a specific match. I like that the NYX brow palette has two color options in it. The wax is holds is messy and I never use it, but the powder alone is so good.
ReplyDeleteNYX hd powder in banana :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not new, but I am loving the Rimmel matte primer. I am pretty oily but this keeps me shine free most of the day!
ReplyDeleteMy fav new product is Simple Cleansing Micellar Water; takes everything off with no issues. My eyes are esp. happy; no burning, redness, tugging to get off my mascara!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree! Very impressed by this product. It is unscented too which is important to my sensitive skin. I stock up on this when on sale. I like the Micellar wipes too for convenience
DeleteI second the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water -- in addition to everything karigold said, it has no smell and doesn't have to be rinsed off. Love it.
DeleteNYX Pore Filler is a must have when I need spot treatment for extra large pores, after my foundation step. It's a perfect dupe for the Porefessional and is much more budget friendly.

ReplyDeleteIt's actually TWO things, the Sonia kashuk highlighting concealer and the l'oreal super slim liquid liner. Those two things I've used every single day for 2015.
ReplyDeleteelf's Contour Palette!! (The powder one.) The contour shade is cool (to produce that shadow effect) and it doesn't make me look like I have dirt on my face. :) The highlight shade with the really soft glow is amazing, too. I love using that before I put on a matte blush. The effect is so pretty! I've also used the heck out of the bronzer shade in that palette. I don't use the matte highlighter in that palette as much, but it's nice, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this palette! Apparently, it's a dupe for the Smashbox Contour palette, but with an additional color. I like using the matte yellow shade as a setting powder for my concealer.
DeleteNeutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil. I have oily skin and I shuddered at the thought of putting oil on my face, but this stuff leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. Not greasy at all.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I've only used it a couple of times so far, I'm really liking the CoverGirl TruNaked Roses Palette.
Loreal Infallible Matte Foundation
ReplyDeleteMilani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner is now my go-to liquid eyeliner, replacing the Clio and Stila pen eyeliners. I wish it came in other colors in addition to black.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Master Conceal and Maybelline brow drama brow mascara! Love them both.
ReplyDeleteI've grown to love the Rimmel BB cream, the brightening one with the orange cap, which matches my skin and lasts. Then on lighter days I've grown to love using mineral makeup again, too. That might be because my skin has improved since I've been using rosehip oil a few times a week, alternating with the Palmer's face oil with rose and retinol, too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Definitely Micellar Water. I started with Simple and I've transitioned to Garnier. Obsessed - and I have you to thank for that :). xo
ReplyDeleteEnoying NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe. It gives my brows a more defined, filled in but natural look.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation. It's my go to daily foundation when I want good coverage and even skin tone, without worrying too much about a full face of 12 hour makeup. It's my daily work foundation 90% of the time!
ReplyDeleteThe Nyx brow mascara in blonde changed my eyebrow game in a major way. It cleans up my brows and is so easy to use.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if these were first introduced in 2015, or maybe the end of 2014, but the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteThe Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte lipsticks - love them!
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Lash Sensational. Probably my HG mascara at this point. Gives great length, volume and definition. It's a little wonky to remove, that's my only complaint.
ReplyDeleteToo Faced BulletProof Brows. It came as a freebie in some sort of sampler I bought, and it's amazing. It's essentially a pigmented wax, and it worked better for filling and taming my weirdo eyebrows than anything else I've tried. I like it so much that I actually paid the outrageous full price for it when I lost my freebie. I doubt I'll use it up anytime soon, but I'm planning to try the new ELF one to see if it's a much cheaper dupe, just in case I need to replace again.
ReplyDeleteAnastasia dip browin taupe .one of the only makeup products in my daily arsenal that isn't from the drugstore and it's worth every penny! The Milani dupe isn't bad for the price though
ReplyDeleteThe Christian Siriano chubby lip pencils in the Christmas giftset from Walgreens. I picked this up on a whim at the 50% off after Christmas sale...and wow. They are so pigmented and last on me forever. I'm impressed and need to figure out who made them so I can look for other products.
ReplyDeleteTwo things! First, the Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser hair care line. First of all, the scent. WOW. It hits a major nostalgia point for me, so I'm biased, but dude. Also, it's amazing on my hair. I have naturally wavy hair (prone to dry/frizz/breakage) that I also heat style every day (MORE dry/frizz/breakage). The shampoo and conditioner are amazing -- my hair really does feel smoother. Seriously, the every day conditioner feels like a deep conditioner. And the hair mask? Amazing. Also? Super affordable.
ReplyDeleteSecond, the Studio 35 Beauty (Walgreens brand) 8% AHA face cream. Hello same ingredients as pricey brands for $10. I use this primarily on my forehead (I have sensitive skin and it can be too much around my eyes), but I definitely notice a difference.
Clear was lip liner. I got one from the Body Shop (not drugstore I know) but once that got over, I moved on to Elf. That and the Elf mascara with the ultra slim wand.
ReplyDeleteSonia Kashuk brushes
ReplyDeleteMilani Illuminating Powder in Amber Nectar
Burt's Bees lipstick in Sunset Cruise
Simple Micellar water for sure. I use it AFTER I cleanse my face and boy, does it remove any last traces of makeup. I have 8 bottles on backup( just went and counted). I also love the Maybelline Push Up drama mascara. Love it.
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm only on my second bottle of the water, but I've managed to acquire 3 packs of the wipes. I would have to say that product in both formats was a big hit for me, but more as a follow up after a cleansing oil to remove makeup, or quick refresh on stay home no makeup days....
DeleteI bought it all with really great coupons. That's why I have so many. My wife and I both use it nightly.
DeleteCover Girl the Supersizer mascara. Two coats of this makes my lashes loooooong and separated and no smudging at the end of the day. Also no flaking into my contacts! Idk if it is new or not. I think it was in a Target Beauty Box. I wish I had found this sooner!!
ReplyDeleteI freaking LOVE that mascara!! My eye specialist asked me if I was using lash growth products. NOPE. Just the Super Sizer mascara!! :D
DeleteMaybelline Dream BB Cream and the NYX Brow Pencil that I can't go outside without putting it on!
ReplyDeleteelf hydrating under eye primer and the new Hard Candy duo baked highlighter in "candle lit". The highlighter is amazing, it looks so glowy, no shimmer bits. And the new Rimmel The One lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteThe elf contour palette! It's so affordable and so easy to use. The yellow shade and the contour shade are my favorite and I use both of those even when I'm not using the rest of the palette. I was on the elf site one day when I guess they were doing some work on it and couldn't find the palette and nearly had a heart attack. I hope they never get rid of it!
ReplyDeleteRimmel Wonder'Lash mascara w/argan oil. I don't know what it is about that stuff but it makes my lashes look absolutely fantastic. And it doesn't sting or give me watery eyes like a lot of other mascaras tend to do.
ReplyDeleteI have two. WnW "Balm Stain" - I have at least 5 different shades. I think the pigmentation is very good and they are super comfortable on the lips. The second is Revlon highlighter/blush. I can't remember the exact name. I don't go for a super crazy highlight but I will top my cream blush with it and it gives me a subtle glow.
ReplyDeleteHard Candy Glamoflauge has been amazing. It has replaced every concealer I own. I use it under my eyes mostly, it doesn't settle in my fine lines. I am also a huge fan of Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama. It's not a fave among a lot of women I know, but it gives me stellar definition and it holds my stubborn lashes in a curl! Unlike almost every other mascara, high end and drugstore.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Colossal mascara - it is my absolute FAVORITE mascara, doesn't clump, lengthens my lashes, and wears well all day!
