Many thanks to reader @helenar3 on Instagram for the tip about this one!
The new LORAC Spring 2016 Limited Edition The Getaway Palette is now available on the Nordstrom site HERE for $20 + free shipping. Before I get into the pics and details, I want to remind you about that 6-piece mask freebie going on right now at Nordstrom on orders $50+, and also that you get your choice of 3 free beauty samples at checkout (with any order, no minimum required). So if you want this palette, don't forget to get your 3 free samples. And if you're buying more than just this palette, grab that mask set freebie too before it sells out.
Before you jet off on that plane, make sure you look absolutely flawless for your next vacation with this limited-edition Getaway Eye/Cheek Palette, which contains everything you need to create an effortless, natural finish or glamorous evening look. The travel-friendly palette is packed with six matte and shimmer eyeshadows, two blushes and a bronzer, as well as an eye and cheek highlighter to take you from sunrise to sunset and beyond. Whether your destination is a tropical island or a bit closer to home, the LORAC Getaway Palette has got you covered.
The configuration of this palette is quite similar to last spring's Resort Palette. You can check out my review of last spring's Resort Palette HERE. Short version: the shadows were not of the same formula as the PRO shadows, but I found that most of them were pigmented and easy to work with. Some of the shades were a bit drier and not quite as buttery as the PRO shadows, while others were similar to those found in the PRO palettes. I especially liked the highlighters and blushes in the Resort Palette. Hope that helps a bit!
Thanks again, @helenar3, for the great tip!
How do i send u a photo that i saw in bed bath beyond!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful palette. I need this.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I liked the Resort palette so much last year that I bought a backup and one for a friend. I would wait to purchase until later when the palette will likely show up on Hautelook or at Nordstrom Rack for less.
ReplyDeleteI confess, I bought this earlier today, even though I need another palette like a hole in the head. It's just too good to pass up, considering most Lorac palettes are more than double the price of this and this is an entire face palette. Her eyeshadows are one of the nicest formulas ever, so I'm excited to try the blush, bronzer and highlight as well! :)
ReplyDeleteAs G pointed out, I think the formulas are very different between these cheaper palettes and the pro palettes. I bought the Ulta 15.00 black friday palette and I ended up returning it because it was Made in China.
DeleteJust not my style. I'm sure they'll be plenty of takers out there though. Great post.
ReplyDeleteBought! Swooning over those blushes! Love the full face palettes for travel. I thought about waiting to see if it pops up Hautelook or Rack in 6 months for the usual $15 but there's no guarantee it will, and this is just $5 more, plus you get the 3 free samples and free shipping. Better deal, IMO, and you get it now.
ReplyDeleteAlso, even better, at Nordstrom right now you can get a free 3-piece deluxe sample set of LORAC mascara, Porefection primer and Alter Ego lip gloss with a $50 LORAC purchase (automatically adds to cart once you reach this amount), in addition to the 6-mask freebie!! So for $50-ish you can get this palette, another LORAC palette or foundation or whatever, the 6 masks, the 3 LORAC samples and the regular 3 samples, all shipped for free!
I think all these special palettes are made in China and you know how I feel about that. Its fine for an inexpensive makeup brand like Wet and Wild or NYC, but I don't expect higher end brands to produce their products in China. I'm pretty sure the Pro palettes are made in the US. I'd rather buy 3 5.00 shadows from Colorpop( made in the US) instead of paying 15.00 for a made in china product.
ReplyDeleteI've got both the Lorac Pros (plus the Mega 2) and like them, but I find these smaller palettes are not as impressive. I have two -- one is Champagne Dreams ($15 for 7 shadows) and the other was the Multi-Platinum palette that I got for $10 off Hautelook -- and they're both lacking in quality, nothing like the Pro shadows. I don't understand why makeup companies have different formulas anyway. Why not just stick to the best formula for all your products and people will know exactly what they're getting? Maybe that's a stupid question, but I'm genuinely curious.
ReplyDeleteI think its because there are a lot of uneducated consumers who just assume they are the same quality( I know I did). I bought the champagne dream and returned it because it was made in China.
