ReplyDeleteMilani lip liner in 04 is a dupe for MAC lip liner in Whirl. I bought both and swatches side by side. The Milani was creamier and easier to work with. Color was as close as you can get.

DeleteI would have to say NYX Lipliner in Mauve. It's a good dupe for Mac's lipliner in Whirl.
ReplyDeleteI have both and I think Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation is just the same as Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12 hour Foundation.
ReplyDeleteNo favorites myself, but I've always wanted a dupe for Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. I've found several that were close but never a true dupe. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteThe most famous (that I know of) is Revlon Lip Butter in Fig Jam. Have you tried that one? Revlon discontinued Fig Jam a while back, but you can still get on Amazon/eBay, and occasionally I see it at Big Lots. I've also heard Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle is close (which is still part of the core line). Hum....what else? Oh! have you tried the Burt's Bees tinted lip balm in Red Dahlia? I reviewed that a few years ago and I've heard it's pretty close, but it's very sheer so you'd need to build it up a lot. Here's a link to my review from 2010 for swatches:

Ive tried the fig jam and it seems a little more brown. I second the burts bees in red dahlia or Palladio lip balm in brownie is really close.
DeleteFig Jam was close. What works well for me is NYX's Simply Vamp lip crayons in either Covet or Aphrodisiac -- just a touch of those with lip balm. They make a really close dupe. You need just a tiny bit, though, as the vamp shades are really pigmented. There's also an Etsy seller I found, ElizaCosmetics, that has a color called Belladonna Berries. That is pretty pigmented, but it's very close to Black Honey if you apply it lightly and mute it with balm.

DeleteThe fig jam is more brown and provides better coverage. I have to swipe the black honey 4 or 5 times to get the same coverage. Both are really nice. I post a swatch of both on instagram @tanyalovesmakeup. Hope this helps.

NyX micro eyebrow pencil is a spot on dupe for the anastasia pencil. They are both made in Korea too. Also physicians formula eyebooster liquid eyeliner with the brush is a dupe for Kat von d tattoo eyeliner.
ReplyDeleteI had seen a Youtube video (by the user kiley.elizabeth) that said Milani Multitasker Powder in Tan 05 is a dupe for Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. I bought the Milani and LOVE to use it as a bronzer! I don't own Milk Chocolate Soleil to do a comparison, but they looked identical in the video.
ReplyDeleteNYX Pore filler primer is very close to Urban Decay's pore perfecting primer. I compared them personally, they're the same product. I also love Hard Candy's baked bronzer in tiki which is a dupe for several more expensive highlighters.
ReplyDeletethe Makeup Revolution Palette is one of my favorites that is very similar (almost dupe) to the Naked 1. I have the Naked 2 and was sooooooo tempted to buy the Naked 1... but then I stumbled across the MR Palette and have been sooooo happy with my purchase. Beautiful shades for only a fraction of the cost :)

DeleteMy favorite dupe I'm currently using is Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner! It smells so good almost minty but not overly so. It's like Wen but better because I don't need to argue with myself about justifying the price, this 16.9 oz bottle was $5!!! And it leaves my hair so soft and shiny I Love!

ReplyDeleteThe elf eyeshadow primer works just as well as too faced shadow insurance. And I can just get a fresh one whenever I want because they are cheap.
ReplyDeleteThe ruby and gold shades in Makeup Revolution Run Boy Run palette are dupes for the same shades in Dior Trafalgar palette. I have both, and I think the MUR shadows are better!

ReplyDeleteW7 has a bunch of dupes for the Naked palettes which are so cheap (around $6) but I don't think the quality is as good. It's definitely a steal though. The Real Techniques Sponge is my fav dupe for the Beautyblender!

ReplyDeleteAgreed. I had a nude eyeshadow palette by W7 and there was so little pigmentation that you couldn't even see the colours on your lids. I threw it away :(
