me tooooooooo......I read about it here, and now have several of them. I am a blush freak, so saying I actually like this drug store product is a big deal. Thank you nouveaucheap, I love this site and always check it weekly. Girl, you know what you are talking about!
I would say the Vegas Nay Stardust palette, purchased from the ULTA website, and also included the freebies that I was able to add, thanks to a certain blogger, who alerted us of this great deal (looking at you, G.) But, in all seriousness, the palette is amazing! All eyeshadows are so pigmented; absolutely no duds. It's a very well thought-out palette and I enjoy using it. Definitely worth the hype that lived up to the raves.
I have two, but they also have some rants as well from people. ColourPop's Ultra Matte Lip and Milani's Amore Matte Lip Cremes. I love them both, they dry super fast and once dry I don't have to worry about transfer, getting on my teeth, smearing or anything, once dry they stay! I can even eat with them and the only time it messes with them is if the food is greasy or very messy and after eating if any inner wear I can just reapply some no issues. I want some more so bad from both lines! xD But besides some issues or personal preference people have; they both live up to the good hype they get or have gotten. :)
I second the Colourpop ultra matte liquid lipsticks!!! I own four but really would like to purchase more. They certainly live up to the hype. Didn't get a chance to try the Milani ones but now that they'll be back permanently I'm looking forward to buying some.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar that I got the last time you posted about $20 off HSN(Thx BTW). It is truly is worth the money. I almost broke out in hives about paying $29 for eye shadow (I kept repeating it is on sale as I am all about sales and clearance). I have gotten so many compliments and it makes me happy to smell chocolate multiple times a week.
Yay!! Aaaah, it makes me so happy when I hear that taking a risk and spending more than drugstore prices for a product pays off! That's not always the case, but it makes my day to hear it WAS the case for you!! I love that palette and I'm thrilled it's working out for you. xo
Make Up Forever's Artist Shadows. I bought 27 colors last year(and an empty palette from a MUFE Boutique here in NYC) and I use them every day. The pigmentation is awesome and they don't crease...I don't even need to use a primer(and I have extremely oily skin)!
I really love the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lippies. I know most people either love em or hate em but I really do enjoy them! I love the colors and I don't have to worry about them going anywhere! I don't find them to dry out my lips that much either!
Bite lipsticks! I heard so much about them that I finally purchased my first one last year. I loved it so much I had to have more! They are amazing; pigmented, comfortable, and long lasting!
Agreed. I'd heard all this buzz about them but ignored it, and then I was given one last year, and it's fantastic. I want to wear it a lot and hoard it at the same time.
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Opal. I apply with the Real Techniques Pointed Foundation brush on my browbone, tops of cheeks and in corner of my eyes. The texture of this is velvety. It gives you shimmer and glow without chunky glitter. I've heard so much about these and been wanting to purchase for a while. I saw Marlena of Makeup Geek do a Splerge or Purge and she choose BECCA over the Physicans Formula highlighter. Ulta had it half off a couple months ago. Glad I took advantage of the sale.
BECCA Opal pressed powder and liquid $20.00 try pack from ULTA- It is AMAZING. I find tho that it wears off if you don't have a primer (obviously lol), but it is great. I usually use Cliniques chubby highlighter, but I find that Opal give me more warmth. I also just bought a Burts Bees blemish control roller ball and Burts Bees cucumber makeup wipes. So far I love both. My favorite brands currently are Burts Bees, Clinique, Becca, Neutrogena, and Maybelline. Mostly because they are all hypoallergenic, natural, cruelty free, and I have super sensitive combo skin.
I really love BECCA's highlighters too! They totally live up to the hype. On a side note, I wanted to check where you got your info about Clinique, Neutrogena and Maybelline being cruelty free. I strive to only use cruelty free brands and for as long as I can remember, Neutrogena and Maybelline are not cruelty free. I think Clinique used to be, but now they sell in China, so third parties test on animals for them. Please let me know if I am mistaken, I would love to be able to try Maybelline products and buy Clinique foundation again! :)
CoverFX custom cover drops. Got them during the Sephora VIB sale, and they are extraordinary. Glad it got an Allure Best of Beauty award.
They are my HG, I'm on my second bottle and already have my backup. For those that hate the feel of foundation, but want coverage try them out.
One product that rarely anyone talks about, but I love is the Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist Palette. The colors are amazing and they blend like a dream, wish more people talked about it because I prefer that palette over any Urban Decay and other top rated and hyped palettes.
Anastasia Dipbrow pomade. One of the only non-drugstore products in my arsenal, and it's worth every penny! I tried the Milani dupe and it was okay...but I prefer the Dipbrow
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask. I definitely did not expect it to be as amazing as it is, but it had so much hype I couldn't resist trying it out, and I'm so glad I did! Every single time I use it I'm impressed all over again, it just makes my lips feel fantastic.
Aaaah, this is the one product that I've been sooooo close to buying so many times because of the hype, but I always stop myself at the last minute because of the price. After reading your comment, I'm tempted all over again! Lol!
The Anastasia Brow wiz! I got in a Sephora favorites set and I can't believe a brow pencil can be so amazing! It really is so easy and quick to use. I'm always rushing in the morning and this is the perfect product for that, I'm never in danger of overdrawing my brows and the color matched me perfectly. Really worth the hype!
Kat Von D tattoo eye liner I can put it on in the morning and it goes on so smooth and jet black and I can go for a long sweaty run or workout after work (I don't take my makeup off before hand) and it is just as precise as when I applied it in the morning, but it washes off beautifully! I don't regret spending $19 for eye liner. This has become my go-to
Not a cheap drugstore product, but I'll say Bare Minerals new serum concealer. It's one of the best concealers I've ever used, and believe me, I've tried a boatload!
For drugstore lines, I've been impressed with Rimmel's Radiance BB cream. I like it better than pricier finds and it's a good match for my skin and I get great coverage. (Mainly I've seen raves in magazines, and for once their hype is right.) For pricier stuff, I've been impressed with Lipstick Queen and Bite lipsticks. Kat Von D's Studded Kiss lipstick in BauHau5 is awesome, too. That lasts and lasts. Others by her are good, but that one is the leader in my book.
An independent nail polish from Crows Toes called "Indian Summer". It lived up to every single bit of hype and exceeded it by an order of magnitude.
ReplyDeleteBefore that, China Glaze "Emerald Sparkle" nail polish. And that was awhile ago.
Milani rose powder blush - I saw it everywhere and it's great.

DeleteI was going to say the same thing- I just found it at Walgreen and it's the bomb digs.

ReplyDeleteAaaaaw, glad I could help you get that deal! And more importantly, I'm so happy it's working so well for you! xo

DeleteBECCA highlighters.. love them!
ReplyDeleteThe Simple Human 5x magnifying mirror. It's been a makeup application game changer.
ReplyDeleteThe Urban Decay matte revolution lipsticks. Picked up bad blood and 1993 a few weeks ago. They look amazing on me!!

ReplyDeleteColour Pop eyeshadows--not a dud in the 10 or so I bought!
ReplyDeleteThe Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue gel tinted moisturizer thing. And I got a good price because of you.
ReplyDeleteI really love the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lippies. I know most people either love em or hate em but I really do enjoy them! I love the colors and I don't have to worry about them going anywhere! I don't find them to dry out my lips that much either!
ReplyDeleteThe Maybelline creamy matte lipsticks! I have two (and I am NOT a lipstick person) and I love them both equally!:)
ReplyDeleteMaybes line creamy matte in Touch of Spice is my HG lip, and I heard it here first too!! That formula is everything lipstick always should be!!
DeleteBite lipsticks! I heard so much about them that I finally purchased my first one last year. I loved it so much I had to have more! They are amazing; pigmented, comfortable, and long lasting!

ReplyDeleteTry the NYX microbrow pencil. Its exactly like the brow wiz. Even made in the same country( Korea)
DeleteI'll say the Milani Rose Blushes (Drugstore) and IT Cosmetics CC+Illumination foundation (Specialty Store), both have surpassed my expectations.
ReplyDeleteChocolate Bar! And that's been a hot minute now, spent most of this year on a very, very low buy.
ReplyDeleteLaura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder...game changer in my makeup routine.
ReplyDeleteKat Von D tattoo eye liner I can put it on in the morning and it goes on so smooth and jet black and I can go for a long sweaty run or workout after work (I don't take my makeup off before hand) and it is just as precise as when I applied it in the morning, but it washes off beautifully! The hourglass ambient lighting palette. Love it. I also got The Balm mary lou manizer on that Prime amazon sale and thats awesome too.
ReplyDeleteMAC Pro Longwear Concealer. It blows every other concealer out of the water!
ReplyDeleteViseart 01 basic palette
ReplyDeleteGilded Honey highlighter from Laura Geller, soooo amazing!
