When you make a "blind purchase" (buy a beauty product without ever having seen it in person), how important is it to you to read reviews first? Have you ever made a blind purchase without reading a single review?
G's answer: Well if I'm wearing my blogger hat, the answer would be yes. I do make blind buys without reading a single review, if the product is something I think I want to review for you. Sometimes it helps to actually avoid any and all reviews of a product I intend to review for you, because one bad (or good) review can stick in your head and subsconciously make you biased, even if you think you're being unbiased. So I often avoid reviews when I make blind purchases for the blog. But if I'm wearing my non-blogger hat and buying something just for me (without any intention of ever reviewing it here), then I read as many reviews as I possibly can before I make a blind buy (and if it's color cosmetics, I look at as many swatches as I possibly can before placing an order).

ReplyDeleteYes if by "blind purchase" you mean having never read reviews (BC I do SEE the product in person when I'm at the store). Though I only do that for brick and mortar shopping when I want instant gratification and I know I can return if I dislike. I admit I tend to shop blind only with companies I'm already familiar with or that I know have a good reputation. For example I recently bought Cerave bar soap to try and never read reviews but I own several cerave products I love.
ReplyDeleteIf I have time to shop online, I have time to read reviews.
i love your blog
ReplyDeletekeep up the good work:)
