This Smashbox Try It Kit is $12 today only (6/4) in-store and online at Ulta. This kit is regularly $18 ($36 value) and contains the following products:

- Photo Finish Foundation Primer (0.25 fl. oz.)
This is a great way to try some of Smashbox's most popular products, and you can't beat that price.
Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to let me know about this one!
I saw this online at Sephora last night too
ReplyDeleteIt's $18 there though, right? :)
DeleteWhat do you think of the products? Have you tried any?
ReplyDeleteI love just about every Smashbox product I've ever tried. But, ironically enough, their primers don't work so well for me, and that's probably what they're best known for! I know a LOT of people swear by their primers but they don't seem to work that well with my oily skin. :(
DeleteWhere's my comment from earlier today regarding how teeny tiny the eyeshadow really is, in spite of the fact they (dishonestly) show a full size in the photo? It did not violate your comment policy did it? I feel like my comment was informative, given the fact that you won't get what is pictured (for the shadow). I have already submitted feedback to Smashbox regarding this "bait and switch" sizing tactic last week. They have done it on several of their kits and "Let's Do Lunch" freebies.
ReplyDeleteKelly, I never would have censored that comment. I never saw it come through!
DeleteI didn't know about any of this and I think it would have been super helpful. Can you comment again?
So sorry it didn't come through - darn! Let's try again!! :)
DeleteI just commented to basically say to beware that the kit pictures the full size eye shadow trio and that is not actually what you will get. They picture the full-size trio, which is 0.09 but in the description it says 0.04, which is actually the travel size. The travel size is a very small slide open deal. You can see a photo of it here, and if you are familiar with how tiny the travel mascara is, you can get a good frame of reference:

I very recently placed an order with Smashbox directly on one of their "Let's Do Lunch" days and the freebie of the day was a kit similar to this. It had the same shadow trio, a mascara and an eye primer. In their photo it also showed the full size shadow trio so I was really excited to receive it. When it arrived I was VERY disappointed. It is SO teeny tiny (less than half size of the full). I wrote a letter to them expressing my disappointment and stating that it makes no sense for them to photograph the sample mascara, the sample eye primer and the FULL size shadow trio -- if they aren't sending the full size. In fact, it's flat out deceptive.
Anywho, same thing on this kit you posted. you will receive an itty bitty slide open trio, not the full size one. I just wanted everyone to be aware that there is a bit of "bait and switch" going on here with Smashbox lately. I genuinely hope they heed my (negative) feedback and remedy this in their product photo shoots in the future.
It drives me bananas that they keep doing this. I hope they stop. They should photo *exactly* what will be received.
Hope this helps someone.
