The Lipstick League - week of 3.16.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week:

You’re leaving the house and must grab ONE lip color to wear for the entire week. Quick! What do you pick?

G's answer: No surprises here--I'd go with Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Matte Lipstick in #104. Goes with everything, works perfectly with my skintone...it's perfection. And don't forget that all Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks are 50% off at Walgreens for the entire month of March (that's a reminder to myself as well, since I need to stock up!).

The Lipstick League Links of the Week:

Beauty Junkies Unite - Amber went to the Natural Products Expo a few weeks ago, and came away with some new favorite beauty products. See why Waxelene -- a natural alternative to petroleum-based products made the cut (and all it can do with a single tube)!

Clumps of Mascara - is so in love with Milani’s matte lipsticks. A non-drying matte lipstick? How is this even possible?!

Gouldylox Reviews - Super pale and looking for a contour palette that won't make you orange? This one is the only one that is working for me and my Irish face.

  1. I have yet to try the 104, but googling it makes me think I should!
If I had to choose one right now, I'd pick bareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip-Oil Balm in Rose Passion. I usually don't splurge on pricier makeup, but I'm loving this one, as it has a pretty, dewy, warmer-looking rose hue and I love it. Plus it gets pinker on me as the day goes on, so I kind of get two in one with it.

I keep hearing good things about those Lip Oil Balms...gotta try one, one of these days!

    2. I might hit Wags later and see if I can score one. The bareMinerals are great. Not the most moisturizing formula, but they stain. I also picked up the Plumberry, and let me tell you, it stains the lips, and fast. I swatched it on my hand and wiped it off a minute later at Sephora, and my hand was pigmented. They all stain, but the Plumberry ... I'm wearing it now and will have color all day.

  2. Milani Nude Creme! Goes with any look. But I do love the Rommel 104, that is an excellent choice as well

  3. Hands down, Absolut Power by MAC. But since it's in limited supply right now - ie. they stopped making it - it would have to be Smashbox Legendary.
