Spotted: NEW L'Oreal Spring 2015 Limited Edition Miss Manga Color Pop Mascaras

image credit: Jazzy for Nouveau Cheap

Do you remember back when the original Miss Manga mascara came out (click here for my review) and I mentioned that in Europe, there were teal, blue and purple shades in addition to black? At that time, Aprill (of GlitterGlossGarbage) was the first to comment on my post that she wouldn't be surprised if L'Oreal released the colored versions later down the road in the US, as limited edition shades. Well, Aprill, YOU WERE RIGHT!

Many thanks to reader Jazzy (@beautyfoolgrl on Instagram) for this one. Jazzy spotted the new Miss Manga Limited Edition Color Pop collection at her local Harmon this week and was nice enough to share some pics with us.

NOTE #1: The three shades of Miss Manga mascara in this limited edition collection appear to be the same three shades as in Europe but with different names (for example, Teal Craze is called Pop Turquoise in Europe). The Silkissime eyeliners in this display are NOT new or limited edition--all three shades were added to the permanent Silkissime line in June of 2014

NOTE #2: These are not to be confused with the new Miss Manga Black Angel Mascara, which is a new, permanent addition to the Miss Manga line.

After looking at lots of reviews for these shades on both European and Canadian blogs, I can tell you that it appears the the purple shade is the least vivid on the lashes (I really couldn't find a photo where I could tell the shade was purple--it looks more a subtle, blackened plum on the eye). The teal shade, on the other hand, is crazy intense. The blue shade is also quite vivid, and I found a great post HERE that shows you some fun ways to wear these colors if you don't want to go full-out on both your upper and lower lashes.

Have you spotted this collection in your area yet? Thoughts?

Thanks again, Jazzy, for the great sighting and pics. I really appreciate it!

  1. SUCH GOOD NEWS! If these are the same formula as the European ones I can't recommend them highly enough. (I hoarded backups of them when I moved back to the US this year.) The purple one makes my lashes absurdly lush looking, my green eye color really shine, and they even smell good! They're a "wet feel" mascara but dry beautifully and have great staying power. You can get extreme effects if you build up coats, but a couple swipes just makes for "natural" luxuriant lashes. I'll shut up now, but I can't wait to stalk these and hoard for when my euro ones finally run out.

  2. Ahhhh I definitely need the teal and blue one. Hopefully I can actually find them around my area because they're really behind on new releases D:

  3. Oh that teal one is calling my name, I am a sucker for anything teal. I can't wait for this display to start popping up in my stores around here, thanks G :)

  4. With any luck they'll hit Walgreens before 1/31, because there's a coupon for $1 off L'Oreal eye makeup on Redplum and a matching coupon in the January Walgreens coupon booklet!

  6. This mascara is just awful! I am one of those people that always forgets to curl the lashes before applying mascara and when I did so with this mascara it just cracked off my lashes my a potato chip. What stayed stuck to the tips of my lashes I had to brush through several times with a spooly to remove. That's a deal breaker for me!

  7. These were released in Canada a few months back, but they came unpackaged and in their own stand. The eyeliners we're included. If I'm remembering correctly, they only appeared in specialty stores and were there for a limited time. They haven't reappeared since.

  8. I just saw these in my local Priceline Pharmacy here in Australia! I got the purple one and while it's not as vibrant as the others, it's still noticeable and great for a little bit of rebellion in the office (we have a dress code).
